its only been going 2 weeks as yet, but we are pretty much stock. but we have races involving aound 5-6 people x2. then we split them into A-B finals. because there is no timing equipment, they count laps. its a really friendly atmosphere.

bring wot u got northy, b good to see u there!

Northy 01-02-2008 02:23 PM

it was silly fast ! wasnt undrivable but hell it was fast !!

the only thing that was standard was the... erm.... no dont think there was anthing standard.....

jimmy 03-02-2008 08:29 PM

might well pop along, I fancy having another go with the Xray thingy

b4rs 04-02-2008 04:38 PM

great stuff. anyone else coming?

jimmy 06-02-2008 11:10 PM

good laugh tonight - it was a BIT mental, very tight track and savage racing! haha. No jumps sadly, to cater for the 18th scale rally cars etc I guess.
Got the Xray M18T Pro working nicely and even won the a final by 2 laps! bargain - well worth 4 quid!

b4rs 06-02-2008 11:15 PM

not bad at all, i came joint second so was worth it for me. but yeh, very hectic and dodgem's style racing, especially with the b final.

MRD 07-02-2008 10:38 PM

Good night, could do with not cooking two motors again tho, gets expensive :wtf:, lower gearing and no more lipos me thinks.

jimmy 07-02-2008 10:44 PM

haha, 2!!!! maniac. I had to break out the heat sink - and my motor didn't smell too nice after the final. That track was a bit savage in terms of stop-start-stop on all those hair pins! good tho, I'm sure I'll be back

MRD 07-02-2008 11:19 PM

Crispy,

That Fusion motor was just over 140 degrees C. It was smoking and unsoldered the wires.

martboy21 07-02-2008 11:29 PM

its an LRP shark truck with a kamtec shell and touring car wheels with schumacher rally block tyres I think.
The car is similar to the FTX Blaze that CML import - CML have no plans to import the truck version though - the LRP came with a lot of nice hop ups I beleive also.

martboy21 07-02-2008 11:39 PM

it looks sweet! just 1/10th wheels and tyres aye?or 1/18th?

in your own opinion whats best 1/18th buggy? im drawn towads rc18b as i have ft b4?

martboy21 07-02-2008 11:41 PM

also are wheels hexs or pins?cheers

jimmy 07-02-2008 11:43 PM

If you look at the results, these anderson based cars (lrp / duratrax/ ftx / yokomo) are very successful and hugely popular. The top guys all have a SHED load of hop ups on them though to make them strong and perform. The LRP in the photo did come with a lot of the needed bits afaik.
I'm reviewing and racing the new Xray M18T Pro at the moment, which comes with lots of nice features so shouldn't need much in the way of extras - and I got it going nicely last night after some setup advice from a team driver in the USA.

martboy21 07-02-2008 11:49 PM

just want it to play with :)

will stick mamab and lipo in,

telsshells is doing my current design on my ft b4,might ask him to do on rc18 b

want a min version of mine

what wheels would fit,are they hex or pins ?

cheers jimmy

jimmy 07-02-2008 11:57 PM

on what? The xray uses mad wheel fitment, but you can get touring size hex adaptors. The Blaze uses some sorta hex I think, and I think the rc18 uses a small hex.
You can fit a buggy body to the Xray, but it's a truck as standard - and many people (at least over here) aren't big on trucks I don't think.

martboy21 08-02-2008 12:00 AM

me too more a buggy man,do you know what size onroad wheels the use as in what scale,1/10th seem to big!?

b4rs 08-02-2008 12:38 PM

i personally believe thorugh experience of racing, the rc18 car are only good for drifitng and very wide tracks, the buggys can overheat due to tight fitting shells and the rc18mt, is the bees knees. its got good cooling and can be setup for any track including offroad.

btw, nice to see u on the forum mark, eventually

losidan 08-02-2008 04:02 PM

awe.....it's not fair. This is just a few mins for me...I want a mini now

b4rs 08-02-2008 10:32 PM

no jimmy, rc18's use little pins not hex's.

jimmy 08-02-2008 11:48 PM

oops
Shows what I know - never even taken the wheels off vickys lil truck! :) someone gave me some lil hex wheels so I assumed they were off the rc18

Super Cooper 23-02-2008 10:54 PM

Hey, i went to the race last wednesday (first time) and it was absolutly bril. Great atmosphere!

Is tyre additive ok to be used? It was very slippy for the 18R's, and struggled to get the power down without spinning out.

MRD 23-02-2008 11:31 PM

Good to see some new faces . The carpet is slippy so pins are the best option but dont fit the R. When we were using the carpet at Pudsy addatives weren't aloud but nothing's been said since. I'll bring it up on Wednesday.

Having an R myself I converted it to a truck untill my factory team truck comes so I can run pins, unfortunately electrical probs denied me a win this week but next week I'm ready for a win :D.

My R

muhuhahahah

MRD 24-02-2008 11:45 PM
