Check it out: http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/reviewbj4we/index.html I could go on forever adding content but I think its time to say done. :p http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/revie...igaction08.jpg |
Jimmy another great reveiw
couple of things that may help you with the chassis tape at the back of the car we cut a peice out of the extra from the back of the car and place it on the chassis before laying the rest of the tape and we also put button head screws in the two back holes as well this helps to take some of the abuse that the back of the chassis gets our surface is brutal as well and these tricks do help travis i'll see if i can post a pic tomorrow when i get home |
I am sooo excited, gonna read it now:D
|
Awesome review again Jimmy.
The interviews were great as well as the main car building/review, interesting to hear a little about the starting of JCConcepts company, again it just shows you what can be achieved if you’re willing to put the time and effort in. Love the effect on the 1st image, kinda ghostly atmosphere effect, looks cool. Also the comparison shots are great and I personally find them very interesting. Keep up the good work, one day it will make you rich and famous beyond your wildest dreams… well maybe not, who knows… let’s hope so huh. Bathy |
Thanks bathy. I find it quite frustrating sometimes that I just dont have the time to do it all as nice as I'd like, but still the end result looks ok, then I remind myself its for free ! so I dont care so much then !:D

you could always be a 'consultant reveiwer' although that would not make you impartial....
ghosts dave, I thought it was suppose to lightening.... lol |
its art, it can be interpreted any way you like ;)

here is a pic of doubling up the tape at the rear of the chassis and the button head screws
|
To be quiet frank, I dont think anyone couldda done a better review. Very informative, thorough & fair. Jimmy i think if you decided to do your own rc mag with reviews and all that, i think you could be on your way to being a rich fella as you seem to be very good at what you do. Good job
|
Can you post a picture of the battery strap mod on the car? I can't envision how it is installed. Maybe a brain fart, long day at work today.
Great review, very informative. I think my BJ4WE was built quicker than I read your review...lol! |
good call, I will add a page to the review with a more detailed photo and a few words about it.
|
For now tho, here is the photo of stuart woods car with the strap installed
http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/revie...strapmod01.jpg Stu has the rear screw and washer lifted up from the post slightly by one small washer. The clip end of the strap is made thicker slightly with a peice of chassis protection sheet which takes up any slack and makes the clip a secure fit. And here is STU WOOD !!!!!!! I wanted to add an interview with stu but ran out of time really. Sorry Stu! thanks for all your help mate. http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/revie...strapmod02.jpg |

That was the only semi-sane photo I got of stu, the rest would get him locked up! haha

No, actually G is right but it is sometimes a gamble and i guess for me theres nothing worse than the "what if" question if you decided not to take the plunge? obviously it'll have to be a calculative one :) |
Jimmy,
Your reviews are simply the best. Also, you are actually using the flexibility of the media to its advantage with your simple but informative animations etc. In fact, it would be great if you could start adding little pieces of footage built in etc. I am not sure how many hits you need to start getting some serios add sponsors, but I hope someone starts payin' yah. I'm sure that the 3 quid for the stickers and masks doesn't even cover your time to put 'em in the post let alone really help with your upkeep of this fine site. |
Yeah, I would be interested in advertsing on your site.

Not certain what direction its all going in at the moment, had a good laugh with the reviews and a whole load of frustration. Without taking things to that next level I think it might soon dry up which would be a shame really. JConcepts was great with help and access - the Q&A with jason ruona was the highlight of all the reviews for me so far. |
You wont dry up matey;) Just make a project car or something till more cars come out, or start reviewing equipment like motors, brushless systems, batteries, shells, radios e.t.c;) See I have just given you 10 years worth of rc ideas for free, how generous am I? lol:D I'll get you a sponsor if you want, I have 'contacts' lol

I've had help but its mainly from smaller and/or usa based companies.
Getting a reply to an email from some UK importers is like getting blood out of a stone. Which forces me to look abroad for help - I have tried to sort a ***** for review with a shop in the USA but so far nothings come of it.:) Fired off an email to Korea this morning to try and sort something else:o hehe. (now sorted, yay) |
Hmm, i think the contributor thing is a little too over enthusiastic  heh
|
Awesome review Jimmy. Thanks for the hard work and info that you provide.

BJ4 we review
I am thinking of buying a BJ4 we and i have read the review , i am pleased with what i saw , i currently run an old cat3000 and i wish to come up to date with a new car . Is the BJ4 as good as i seems or does it have any faults ? Any advice or views would be gratefully recieved.
Turtle |
Most of the current crop of cars are great to be honest mate - they all have their small drawbacks of course.
The BJ4 is a great car and is pretty darn robust also - you'll certainly not be disappointed with it |
Cheers
Cheers for the opinion i will be looking verycarefully before spending my hard earn't cash .
Thanks again Turtle |
Had my bj4 worlds about 2 months now, and the car is very good, quick and easy to work on, handles well and parts are cheaper than alot of other 4wd's on the market.
I've had it indoors mostly, and outdoors once on a wet day at Bury.. on both surfaces the car prooved to be a winner. I seriously can't wait to get it outdoors on some high grip madness! |
I took the car out for a test session outdoors at a undisclosed track. The track was quite damp, but the car took it on and continued to impress me..
I belive this car will be a very good contender in the upcoming nationals, it hadnt prooved it self indoors as much as i'd like.. but the pace and handeling the car was giving outside, even on a damp track was unreal. Roll on April 14th. |
Just wait until you drive it on dirt...
