Does someone know anything about this new item?
It will be a re-release of the 511 with gear diff or only the gear diff unit for the 511?

its 8000 Yen which isnt a lot of money for a complete 511 kit ? My guess is its a gear diff for the 511 but Fredrik is usually more well informed than i am !

Sorry guys, is there a kit, and a gear diff? What's the second part number?

I am pretty sure, this will be a Gear Diff. Have to agree with craigosh in general: Tamiya NEVER sell items for what they are priced before there release. I don´t know why they do that but i never paid these prices actually.

But they should release diff first (and some other options) and then the complete kit.

With that RRP it will be around £350 Inc post from HK :)

it's about time someone made gear diffs for offroad cars.

just as I was going to order some spec r ta05 gear diffs for my 511, I am going to wait for the tamiya ones now.

and I think the new kit will be sold at a higher price compared to the current kit. Have a look at the tamiya 417 kit with gear diff. They are about 10% more than the normal kit.

No idea. Maybe some nice diff covers?:)

I am pretty sure Fredrik knows if the gear diffs fit the diff cover. Fredrik: do you know anything about the spec of the new 511?

Found another Japanese site that says this to confirm the fact. So far I have only seen it on one other site before but two Japanese people can not be wrong.. or is it a billion Chinese people? :woot:

Depends how much is changing, the 511 I've got has just about everything required on it.

Was thinking the same when i read here that it will be a complete kit. Both Japanese pages say release date late August, as far as i know we have late August, still no confirmation by Tamiya on their site, not even future release note. Just want to say that this time there is different habit to how they normally release kits... strange i must admit :confused:

I don´t believe it´s something "trivial" like the release of a new Tamiya TRF kit. It must be something more important to Tamiya i think...

i do not hope that original 511 kit with gear diff unit will be released as a new chassis kit, without changing anything on the chassis. personally, 511 that has been released for a long time has already started to be boring. i think the new chassis kit will soon be released, even if it is not august or september. my money has already been ready to pay for it.

Since my last post I've had it confirmed from an anonymous but to my mind guaranteed source in the far east that a kit is definitely being released...although not whether there are any changes beyond the diff's!

The Tamiyausa thing is Tamiyausa specific (it says it's to showcase Tamiyausa)...so either not a kit or an American designed kit...outside chance it's a new 801 I guess (that's Tamiyausa rather than Tamiya), but my guess is it's either not a kit, or is maybe and SC....total guess though!!

My guess from that website is that each thing listed is happening

Regarding the countdown, if it was a new kit then chances are it would be leaked by now. Best thing TamiyaUSA could do is let people not in the USA buy stuff from its online store.
