Dex210 - mid motor config.
Just noticed the shots of Chris Doughty's DEX210 at the oOple invernational...
It's in mid motor configuration for those who were wondering what that was like.. http://oople.com/rc/photos/ooplerace...1/OOP_1147.jpg |
nothing gets past you Daz :D
|
Any solid info on price / release date?
|
Nothing solid, but mb models are taking pre orders
|
Someone has posted amainhobbies is $275 which is cheaper the there losi 22 price and at 1.62 dollars to the pound is £170 ish.
|
I am guessing this version is like the R and will compete with the 22 on price and then later a full fat version will come out with all the alum and cf goodies, as there are very few alum bits on the car in the photo and plastic shock towers.
|
Looks like it has the larger hex drives on the rear wheels too..

I love the dex 410, but this is an ugly car, tho!:thumbdown::thumbdown: What a shell =( |

if they usw gullwing front arms why dont they put the holes for the shocks in the lowest point. This is just more material on the wrong place. They could have made the gulwing much smoother.
Who designed this car? As far as I know not the same person that made the 401. Cap forward bodies are not a problem any longer now the whole car is ugly :D |
i would be interested to see the saddle/mid motor setup!

Maybe arranged like a stick pack end on end?
i cant see how it would work any other way using those same side pods? maybe there is an alternative pod for saddles? |
I'd take a guess at the lipo sliding forward for mid motor running. With the car in the rear motor configuration there is a lot of space behind the steering servo and a bit of space between the lipo and rear shock tower.

Price looks good too, but plastic hexes etc. So as others have said expect a stack of upgrades
|
Had a look at Jörns DEX210 at the German Nats last weekend.
The Car looked sweet and Gerd showed up with the Mid Motor Config. car on sunday. |
the car looks great either way the motor sits, i want to see the car with saddles, do they sit side by side, sideways, or in line like a stick pack..
( ll or = or l ) if that makes any sense. |
Don't think there will be side by side lipos looking at the photos unless there are different plastic sidepods. Seems like saddles in a stick pack layout.

2wd hybrid...
Mid Motor, Rear Motor, Left Hand Motor, Right Hand Motor, 3 or 4 Gear. Plenty of options there.. Abbreviated on the motor mount plate if you take a close look.. |

...so maybe that will be the same for the 210? I guess you anyways will have to make a side-by-side saddle CF-chassis for it J! |
please don't let them make a SX2 style V3 where you get the nice new shocks and parts, but then end up with plastic in the places it shouldn't be...

I for see a 210Ultra sat next to my 410Ultra! |
It looks soooo gooooood.
The more I look at it the more I want one. Too bad I just bought an X6 Sq, I didn't know they were bringing this out (well I knew about the DEX210 but not the production version), this thing pretty much ticks all the things on my list when I was looking around for a 2wd buggy. I wonder if it has adjustable front rake? Really like the droop screws, tranny layout (and that its so compact), gear diff, stick pack in mid config, etc... |
