Great customer service

Just thought I would let you know about the great customer service I have received from Apex Models and HPI Warranty.
2 months or so ago I purchased an HPI Pulse (love the car to bits) From Apex. Last week however the engine let go, the con rod snapped (lucky for me it was at the end of the day). So Monday morning I went into Apex explained what happed, they diagnosed the fault, sent the engine to HPI, they confirmed the fault and are replacing the engine. So all thing being equal I should have my car running tomorrow. A 5 day turnaround cant say better than that.
Thanks guys
Ian

Great customer service.

I wonder if our local Ansmann dealer is as good.............:p

Ianhunt 21-07-2011 04:44 PM

There is only one way to find out :D I hope to get a Deuce this side of Christmas

RCPhil 21-07-2011 05:23 PM

Fantastic.

If we managed to make a holder for two controllers you could have a race with yourself!!!

I'm trying to get the future Mrs. Chitty interested in buying me a Short Course kit. Thinking about going for an electric one this time because the brushless technology is getting really interesting.

Be good to see how it would compare speed wise up against a nitro.

Ianhunt 21-07-2011 07:49 PM

Funny you say that as Ian keeps saying who is going to get one and they are reasonably priced, I might join you there after seeing yours, if I get enough time over the weekend I have bought a brushless 1/10 buggy, just needs a little work just in case the Pulse is not ready

mugenmark 22-07-2011 07:46 AM

electrirc acelerate as quick or quicker than some nitros, nitros have higher top speed, and once again it comes down to money,ie a 1300kw 22v lipo pack will go as fast as a nitro but at a cost of £250 for a good motor and how much do you spend on your esc up £60 to £150 or more.you can get a good rb engine and pipe for £165,a few of my friends have 1/8th electrics there just as fast as good as nitro, though heat can be a issue due to down gearing electrics motors for better speed

Ianhunt 22-07-2011 08:12 AM

Hi Mark, assuming you look after the lipo how many races can you get out of a £250 pack?

RCPhil 22-07-2011 11:25 AM

I looked at the new TLR 22 last month after a write up in Racecar.

Looks like a cracking bit of kit.

Not a Short Course though!!

Ianhunt 22-07-2011 11:53 AM

it does look very nice  ibought this http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prodshow/MV12607.html

RCPhil 22-07-2011 12:14 PM

WOW:drool:

That's a cracking looking buggy.

Looking forward to seeing it under way.

Ianhunt 22-07-2011 12:35 PM

I will be happy if it goes as well as this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwKUaJ7Svxk :D

RCPhil 22-07-2011 01:01 PM

That goes some.

You know we'll all be quite livid if its that much faster than a nitro!!!

It would be interesting to race an electric but I know there's the issue of battery life.
It would be a pig if you were winning but lost battery power on the last lap.
Someone needs to come up with a car design where the battery can be changed in a big hurry. My old 1/14 Nikko Subaru has a great system of changing batteries with a new pack sliding in to a slot under the car. It would be a great design for racing.

Ianhunt 22-07-2011 01:10 PM

Sounds simillar to my Tamiya Madcap

RCPhil 22-07-2011 01:31 PM

Might have been a similar battery.

I'll bring it over on Sunday. Its a good little thrash around.

Any news on the Pulse?

Ianhunt 22-07-2011 01:45 PM

I hope to pick it up this afternoon

RCPhil 22-07-2011 01:53 PM

Yay.

That was great service mate.

I can feel much running in time occuring on saturday!!

Weather looks good for Sunday. We should get some good running time.

Ianhunt 22-07-2011 02:26 PM

I cant wait :p

RCPhil 22-07-2011 02:29 PM

What's with this new venue?

Ianhunt 22-07-2011 03:08 PM

The idea is just to try somewhere different thats all

mugenmark 22-07-2011 04:48 PM

my friends have 1/8th hong nor electric truggys he uses a1300kw electric motor this is about as powerfull as you can get.on a drag race{100 meters plus}the nitro wont get past till{that my mugen and a nice 5 port rb engine}top of the revs,it the way you gear electric you gear down to get more revs {less strain on the engine}you need to get good lippos these aint cheap but over a 100 recharges, cheaper lipos are avaible, for instance if you use a 2000kw motor you can get away with 14 volts,{less money}some 1/8th use 2700kw or 2400kw,it depends on power and speed.heres a link for lipo batterys, http://www.bigsquidrc.com/lipo-battery-shoot-out/,it gives you speed and times for lipos

mugenmark 22-07-2011 05:03 PM

lipos cost about £50 to 60 pounds for the good ones,20 to 30 mins run time{depending}the real cost is the esc and motor £150 to 250 for the good stuff,ie redline and mostermambo, hong kong will do you 2000kw motor £55 and a speed controller £60 it a cheap way to start.

it about £50 to 60 pounds for good lippos and a 100 plus recharges,it depend on the voltage,7.4,14.8 or22.2 or 25.2,
