Sunday Meeting 24th July Basingstoke

Hope everyone is well and managed to dig their cars out of the grass and dirt, without discovering to much hidden damage.

Back in Basingstoke this week. Thought we might try a different venue for a change. Its a park which lies between the A33, Popley Way and Shakespeare Rd. Turn into Shakespeare Road from Popley Way and its the first turning on the left.

12-3ish, £1 for subs. We should definitely have the club cars this week. Their will be a small charge to use the club cars, just to cover fuel and spares, probably just a few pounds.

I have spoken to Steve, and he is happy to bring down the canopy again, just in case we have to suffer rainy showers again. A rope track will be laid and we might even still have a BBQ if we can get away with it.

Any objections to the venue or other ideas just let me know.

Hope to see you all there.

Thought this might help, see you there guys and girls

Who's bringing the BBQ?:D

staticvandal 22-07-2011 09:06 PM

Good call, who is bringing the BBQ. Shall I go get a portable one - it's not like it won't be used again, after all the BB has become a bit of a ritual (even in the drivin' rain).

staticvandal 22-07-2011 09:14 PM

OK, after reading the recent posts and seeing the video posted on facebook, why don't we have a bit of fun and try some drag racing this weekend (new engines need not apply - so make sure they are all well run in). Lets have some ideas for rules etc - could be a bit of a laugh eh?

1st up: each match up has to be best of three?

staticvandal 23-07-2011 08:20 PM

OK Drag races are on. We are even going to put up a little prize:thumbsup: for the winner, just to make things interesting. Its run what you brung, and we will not be held responsible for lock outs so don't go to lean :woot:.

Mav 23-07-2011 09:29 PM

LOL the only way I could win a "drag" race is to bring a bungee rope and devize a quick release mechanism for the overtake right at the end as my car doesnt start at the moment

I will be stopping by to spectate with the missus and my daughter and to collect a glostick from mark that I left behind today lol

RCPhil 24-07-2011 06:18 PM

mugenmark 24-07-2011 06:49 PM

good day out lads, see you in a couple of weeks time

Ianhunt 24-07-2011 06:51 PM

Nice to catch up with you again Mark

Mav 24-07-2011 08:27 PM

Nice to see you again Mark, sorry we couldnt stop long, my wife is a diabetic and her sugars started to crash so we had to go kind of quickly.

Will get the bits together for my hyper and I will speak to you soon.

staticvandal 25-07-2011 10:31 PM

Quality bashing Sunday everyone. Was great to see some new faces and some old faces with new wheels. We seemed to get lucky with the track layout, as it was the first time we had tried it, it seemed to suit both the electrics and the nitros, probably best for 1:10 but not bad for a bit of old rope and some manky cones .
Mark many thanks for the BBQ loan, our meets wouldnt be the same without the ritual food poisoning. Arsey Phil, I mean RC Phil:lol: is kindly donating (or at least he was until my last comment) a BBQ to the club, so we should be OK were ever we are from now on.
Top marks on the drag racing, that was great fun. Well done to Trevor for being the "Best Drag Act", Beccy would be proud:lol:, I hope the "Radio Car Shack Track mini-kit" (shameless advertising) comes in handy. Ive sorted my low end out on the SCT so I am after some payback when you get back from holiday.
I think, unless anyone has any objections, that we will meet same time, same place next week. I will post a new thread to confirm this over the next few days.
Remember we have club cars now (I think everyone had a go on Sunday), so bring along any friends or family that you think might like to give rc a try.

Thanks again everyone, see you all next week:thumbsup:.

RCPhil 26-07-2011 12:53 PM

T'was a great day, even for those of use who's cars let us down in the early stages!!!:cry:

TJP 26-07-2011 06:43 PM

What a cracking afternoon, I had a great time.
Ian's SC never fails to amaze.
(Arsey) or (RC) Phil gave me a smashing little engine stopper tool, thanks RC it works well.
Ian's new Maverick makes you wanna give electric a bash.
I got the prize from ''Radio Car Shack" for winning the drag race, and it was beautiful, but I don't do corners.
I've got a lovely little club car to look after and keep running lovely for all our new members.
Cheers guys, see you in a few weeks.
TJP.
