Worlds 2011 report - LIVE

After a lot of work the oOple Worlds 2011 report is now finally online and will be updated asap during the Worlds as and when we've got something new added so keep checking back!

Day 1 of the event just saw registration and the opening ceremony with some tyre gluing and battery measuring thrown in for good measure. Day 2 sees the first cars on the track and we'll hopefully get to see some more interesting cars that have so far been hidden away.

If you've any requests to see things or want to know anything then let us know and we'll try to find out.

Check out the report online now: http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/worlds2011/

I guess that does make sense with style of track (dirt/motor out the rear etc) I also pressume his full commitment with AE would dictate that they would need him to run a full production car?

Liverc video feed doesnt allow a close enough inspection of the cars but its brilliant anyway!

Not a full production car, it's got a cut down truck chassis.

This is the 2wd Kyosho secret. Should be Cody's, alltrough I'm not shure, that all on the team are driving it.

tellor 19-07-2011 06:23 AM

No Bloomfield

shame Darren's not there due to BRCA red tape, bit of common sense needed surely.

makes it even stranger when you see who is there from the uk, not sure everyone who is there actually qualified, could be wrong...

are you referring to the uk team or other national teams?,

Mrs oOple 19-07-2011 07:37 AM

If you're thinking Jimmy oOple, he isn't racing because he didn't qualify either - he raced no nationals last year.
I have raced at one national this year, but none last year so sadly I didn't qualify either

Perhaps if Darren and I both get organised and race a national each next year, we'll be all set for a place at the next WC event - I'll give him a run for his money, world championship warm up winner? pfff....

tellor 19-07-2011 08:04 AM

Apologies, it does look like all have quailified

12.3
The World Championship team will be selected in the order of the previous year‟s National Championship results for each class individually.

fair enough, if you enter and all those above you don't want to go so be it, plus the BRCA member rule!

I know that rules are good and fair for everyone but if i had a place and knew the likes of Darren wasn't going i'd give my place up so the UK had a better chance of doing well

DaveG28 19-07-2011 08:37 AM

Tellor, I think this has come up, the problem is that:

A) You don't get to choose who you give your place to
B) I am not sure he could ever get an entry, even if there were spaces, as he didn't meet the uk entry requirement.

I agree it's a shame though, as you want the best fighting it out!

Mrs oOple 19-07-2011 08:51 AM

The oOple report for day two has been updated and should shortly be online with gallery included .

The final practice round ran first thing this morning and qualifying is now underway - top heats are running now.

Report will be updated when we can although please be patient as we try to maintain the usual oOple quality.

And please remember if you didn't support us to get here, don't rip our photos.

MikePimlott 19-07-2011 10:26 AM

Im feeling the love for Martin Achter :woot:

Mrs oOple 19-07-2011 10:44 AM

Martin Achter is one of our number one fans. He is holding his true skill back for the first couple of qualifying rounds and saving himself for later in qualifying.

Naushad 19-07-2011 10:54 AM

saving themselves?

I wonder if the UK team are being conservative aswell....don't see their times up there in the higher ranks. But hey, who am I to speak!!

I just hope they are serving the best till last!!

Best of luck!!

I've got that too, quick clear of the proxy cache and that fixed it for me. If you're at work and use a proxy server get the IT guys to fix the proxy server :thumbsup: ;

steelie600 19-07-2011 11:36 AM

and if your at home????

Cardnim 19-07-2011 11:48 AM

click anywhere on the grey bits to the left and right of the oople page.
Now hold down CTRL and press the "F5" button - this forces a refresh from server, not the cache.

HTH :)

MatJohnson 19-07-2011 11:54 AM

If your on IE9 then press F12 and open the developer tools, goto cache > Always Refresh from server, that fixed it for me.

Vicky, where is the loop on the track?

Didn't work for me at work until I cleared the proxy cache, but certainly should work for those not stuck behind proxy servers
