JM08 Stealth Chassis for TLR22
Yes, the rumors are true!* We have an all new chassis for the Losi 22.
Link http://www.rossmod.co.uk/product/371...ssis_for_TLR22 Specs :- 10mm shorter than original Losi chassis Made from T6 Alloy Black Anodized finish 25 deg front Kick-up On testing we have found the following benefits :- Increased rear traction Improved turn in Improved Agility 5 deg Added front Kick-up gives a safer and more composed steering. If you are running the smaller than standard Losi LiPo stick pack then no additional parts or modifications are required, it's a straight fit! If you would like to run standard saddle LiPo's, no problem! Simply dremel out the internal part of the Losi side pods and mount the LiPo sideways, one in front of the other. For this you will also need a bodyshell*with more generous proportions such as the FTW Vain or similar. The New "JM08 Stealth Chassis" is available now from Rossmod * |
ordered mine!

It will transform the car.
If you need any help just post on here. |
Whats the best way to hold saddles in
Will the proline bulldog fit Does the rear brace fir the gearbox still fit? Thanks |
We have cut a small slot on the outer part on the plastic side pods, then extended the velcro straps to go round the battery.
I plan on taking a trip to B@Q to see if they do a longer Velcro strap. We might even sell them in the shop. By the way the only extra part that you will need is 4 2mm plastic washer to fit under the servo mounts. I'll take pictures tomorrow to show you. I haven't seen the proline body as yet. You keep the rear end as standard. Mark |

we've cut a small slot in the motor bracket and used a peice of stainless steel, which is secured by two battery posts provision has been made in the chassis for these if used.Attachment 25576

Extra rear end would be fantastic |
O M G This car actually works
|
I see in the pics that you have the saddles side by side but it i just want the saddle pack to fit in like on the normal kit. Can they without any modification or do you need to modify the pods??
|
re setups
at Oswestry national we ran 35 oil green springs front 30 oil yellow springs rear no additional weight other than the cream extreme rear weight. the car was supream. |
This chassis made the 22 much harder to catch around Southports track.
|
you can run the small losi battery in the normal position but we havent tested saddles in the normal position on the new chassis yet
|
That was Mk1
we have now evolved to the Mk2 STEALTH, by by see u in our dust |

Thanks |
Ross mods have v2 in stock.
|
MK2 IS the stealth, and is the only version available. exclusive to Rossmod.
These will not be available anywhere else |
Nice looking chassis ...
I'm a little confused tho .... what's the kickup on it ? I thought the stock 22 chassis was 25 degs ? but you say you have added 5 degs and still got 25 degs ? :eh?: |
how does a shorter chassis increase rear traction?
if anything, a shorter wheelbase will make it more nimble, that's the theory anyway |

It's a typo error it's suppose to mean with the 5deg caster blocks. I'll let them know at the shop to change this. Thanks for Pointing this out. Mark |

I know what you mean this was our thoughts before we tested v1. But the back end is a lot more planted than with the standard car. I don't know where you live but if your at the bury regional this weekend then your welcome to try the car out this weekend. Mark |
the std kit, kick up is more like 20 degrees.
|
No, 25' as the shim for 25' is parrallel, whereas the 20+30' is tapered.
|
Are the corner weights the same with this chassis, simple by shortening the chassis would not alter weight bias to settle the rear end, or does the different cell lay out more weight on the rear?

We never had any side pod weight to try. But what I can tell you is that it works. Our sons that race the cars are just average F2 drivers and they were not happy with the 22 like every one that has one.So the v1 was made and it transformed the car.So a couple off tweaks where made then V2 was made. So that's the story on how it was made. We have the saddles across the chassie this is the way we run it. I will be trying to get some pictures up tonight as I finished late last night. |

the conversions coming through are making the cars better (although i can only speak for the speartooth) |

Maybe I worded it wrong English was never mi strong point.LOL |
The shorter wheelbase allows the weight to be transferred more effectively.
Are other peoples chassis flat at the rear, or got the joggle in to raise the rear suspension holder and gearbox? |
stealth Chassis
Got mine today:thumbsup:

Were running the 4deg LRC block with 1 deg antisqat. And fit as normal. |
Awsome
mine is all built and ready to go!!!!
|
let us know how you get on with it
|
few little niggles that I will bring to RossMods attention.
|
ISSUES
Only issuie i had was the rear HRC block doest seem to sit flat & also had to mod the front part of the side gaurd by using a screw and bolt to hold it down and slightly mod the servo posts!
|
Do you still run the tlr mid motor weight or the cream weight with this chassis ?
|
Quote:
Plus as the 10 mm is taken from the front the sidepod fixing lugs do need fixing down with a nut and bolt. As there moved foward. We use the LRC block, if your at the bury regional this weekend let us take a look. |
Quote:
We use lead under the batteries. We took the tlr weight off. |
how much weight under the lipo ?
