Despite the jumps looking a bit mental the track was actually quite good today - vastly prefered it to the last national.

Some suggestions - forgo scrutineering! Or do it at booking in only. Get someone (or shared among decent drivers) to referee instead. I was starting to lap people on my second lap in qualifying, and it was like a Worlds A main - not letting me past without a fight! ;)

I was trying a new car (possibly the first time the car has raced at a UK National?) and I'd never driven it before. I was trying lots of stuff out but I couldn't even have 1 lap before the race started to get used to the changes. Anyone with a complaint should have started behind me as i set off and spun out on the first corner - causing an 'incident' because I'd not been allowed to practice (get used to it). I've not really any recollection of a race where drivers don't get a few corners to test the car.

Just a couple of ideas - enjoyed the racing today even though I was a bit under pressure to get the car working

PaulRotheram 03-02-2008 04:58 PM

I thought we got the car going reasonably well by the end of the day Jim! Could of done with getting it there a round earlier but always next time.

well done to pricelette for making the A, who is currently at the services where Jimmy has left him :D

jimmy 03-02-2008 05:00 PM

haha
can't believe John beat me! he's not driven for ages and I've been driving every week, bassa!

ashleyb4 03-02-2008 05:10 PM

LOL good to see job make the a i think we do need ref's i got mullered a laods by one car he took me out 3 times on the first lap of my final so by the time i had comleted one lap i was being lapped!!! good to see team oOple to havent seen most of them since the summer

That vid is ace!! Good work PR and JS I meen, WOW:thumbsup:

Oscar 04-02-2008 07:41 AM

As Jimmy already said, Despite the early start, i had an enjoyable day. The track had several technical features which require either caution or skill (maybe both;)), but it still remained raceable. This is as opposed to being an over complicated obstacle course. (I'm not complaining i don't like the obstacle course type tracks, they are really enjoyable, just in my opinion not suited to actual RACING).
See you guys again at the next one:)
