EPR Summer Series Round 4
Please check out here:
http://www.edenparkraceway.com/index.htm basically a club championship on the same weekends as the BRCA Nationals. We'll run along similar lines to our successful Winter Warmer series and accommodate the same THREE classes: 2WD; 4WD and Truck/SCT providing we get sufficient numbers. This being the first time that we will be running club meetings since the return of racing at EPR numbers/popularity will largely be an unknown so we'll just see how it goes but aim to provide a more relaxed, less formal meeting aimed primarily at club members and guests but also for returnees, newbies and those coming across from 'the dark side'! Hope to see you there, start time: same as Round 1 approx. 08:30 but we'll try to move things along during the day but without too much pressure! EPR Committee |
I was hoping to come down and race in 2wd.
Do I need to pre book? Any recommendations on tyres? |
Very definitely no need to pre-book, just turn up on the day!
Tyre choice is relatively simple! Schumacher Yellow Mini Spikes in the dry and Greens if it's damp/wet. Fastrax Turf Ripper do work but are not as popular as the Schumacher options. Same applies to DBoots! Hope to see you there! |
Given that we have good weather I should be coming down... fingers crossed.
|
what time does racing roughly finish? and gates open?
and the format? |
Paul,
The last round finished before 4:00PM, largely depends on how many turn up! We don't start setting up until at the earliest 08:30! Last round was 4 rounds of FTD (!) Qualifying, then 2 counting rounds of Finals for all. Again that may change on the day, obviously dependant on numbers and conditions! Though forecast looks good at present: http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...R3%203SR&day=4 Oh and just to mention..... if the turn-out is much the same as last time, there will be plenty of opportunities for drivers to 'volunteer' marshal but we'll still keep the meeting pretty relaxed, hopefully! |
Ive actually got a free weekend! Im coming! :D
|
i'm coming down to race
|
hopefully I'll be there to have a run round this weekend weather permitting :)
|
|
Looks good at the mo for sunday... fingers crossed it stays that way
|
Metcheck says the same, weather looks perfect for Sunday, so I'll be there :)
|
Sure does!
http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...R3%203SR&day=3 Those saying they're coming could make the Championship interesting! |
19!!! that's freezing compared to the last time we were there :p
|
Metcheck says 21 feels like 23 so a little better, more like last week, much more comfortable but still with potential to burn!

Weathers not looking too clever for tomorrow! :(
|
Looks fine on the reports ive read?
|
Metcheck says at 1000 there will be light rain, then at 1300 heavy rain! BBC site says the same story too...
|
Confusing reports by all the leading sites so guessing they don't really know.....as usual!
But the tracks all set and looking good to go!!! We'll be there! |

Also 'sounds' like CJ's bottling it!

If anyone is up around 6 in the morning can you post a weather update  need to leave around 6.15 so could save me a wasted trip

Updated Summer Series Championship tables are now available here:
http://www.edenparkraceway.com/ Congrats to yesterdays winners: Delves, Dickinson & (cough! cough!) Brooke S. 2WD Championship still looks to be wide open! Think I can see FIVE different drivers that could still potentially win it! 4WD Championship is equally, if not moreso, wide open with no drivers having completed three counting rounds, as yet! Realistically looks to be between the top three! SC/Truck Championship.....sorry guys, it's all about the race for second! Thanks for everybodies help with the meeting yesterday, beforehand, during and clearing up. Special mention for Paul Upton who helped out with a couple of 'interesting' development opportunities in Race Control, thanks Paul, much appreciated! And welcome to the three new members that joined yesterday, one of whom was Marlon (think he's been bitten by the bug and bitten bad!), everybody's welcome whatever time of year! |
Keep a close eye on your possessions at epr
Yesterday my brother had his brand new iPhone 4 stolen from his daugter by the public. Be vigilant. Sad isn't it. Scum robbing of a little girl! |

This is the first incident of this nature we have heard of at our venue and so we would just like to clarify that this was definitely NOT by any individual associated with either the event, club or with the host venue, Club Langley. Unfortunately the vehicle used by the individuals was not known to us. The bottom line is for ALL of us to be vigilant with all our equipment, we all have some very valuable kit and often leave it unattended and easily accessible to these undesirables! |
Agreed
|
Enjoyed the day, luckily the rain missed us aswell! Couldnt believe what happened with Lewis's phone... must of un-nerved Ella abit as well! :bored: I hate to think that there are people around like that, I was certainly more conscious of where I left things after this, you just don't expect it to happen!, hopefully we wont see anything like it happen again.
Besides that the racing was very enjoyable and ill probably attend the next round! :) |
