24th July - Caldicot WRCA Round
Not long to go until our round of the WRCA.
We'll be racing at our usual venue but outside on an old skool grass track:thumbsup: Directions and info are on our website www.caldicotrcracers.co.uk Please send your entries to [email protected] Don't forget to include: Name BRCA number PT number Frequencies Classes being entered (this round is electric only, sorry) There will be teas, coffees, cold drinks, food, etc Depending on the entry numbers we may have to use the overflow parking again but pitting will be available inside the hall. And finally, should the current fantastic weather not last, this event will NOT be rained off as we will just setout the track inside the hall instead! Look forward to seeing you all there  |
I will be there
|
Put my name down for a bit of that.
|
How much is it to race this year, kids and adults?
|
Dunno actually!
What was agreed at AGM? |
I wasn't there, think it is was something along the lines of adults £7 and £3 for each extra class, but dunno!
|
£7 for adults £3.50 Juniors or free if they are with a full paying adult (up to 14)
|
Entry sent. I shall look forward to this one as it will be my first 1/10th meeting for over 15 years
|
Any chance on running 1/8th Leccie Rallycross?
|
track will be too small for us big boys
|
too small four us big boys
speak for your self axe im only ten stone
|
Keep those entries coming guys :)
And sorry but no 8th electrics, our track isn't big enough for them :( |
We've had some entries in now, thanks guys, but it's still way short of what we know will turn out on the day! Anyone who knows they're coming, get your entries in now, it helps us plan things better, and helps us get racing quicker on the day
Just a gentle reminder...anyone thinking of applying for 1/10th nationals for next year...regionals are essential. Without an F3 or better grade, you stand little or no chance of getting a guaranteed entry judging by the entries from this year! :) |
how wet are we talking before we will run indoors? will this happen during the day or will it be made before racing starts? asking as I don't want to waist money on bb's if i need mini pins.
Put my name down any way- what time are we looking at starting and is there club this Friday?? |
I don't know for sure, we're waiting to see forecasts nearer the time, but I'd say if it's looking like intermittent showers then we'd run outside...can be fun in the mud ;)
If it's looking like prolonged/heavy rain throughout the day, and on the days leading up to it then we'll run inside...a bit of mud is ok...a lot of mud is just annoying  Too early to say anything for sure though...wait til later in the week and we'll update. Eitherway, there will be racing at Caldicot that day  And yes, racing as per this Friday night! |
grrr i knew you would say that- play it safe and order all the tyres i need lol.
what time is booking in? |
Well, myself, Joshua and Andrew will be racing 2wd at Caldicot, I may run 4wd to, let me know if you don't have our PT numbers.
|
owen gooding 4wd...usual 4wd details as in laptop.... please... cant send email at mo:confused:
|
Booking in from 9am, will post a proper timetable soon.
Please do not rely on us picking up your entries from this topic, we will probably miss them! Please email [email protected] (Dave you have pm) |
I sent my details along with 2 others all in one e-mail, i requested a delivery receipt and have not yet had one.
Can whoever is dealing with entries confirm if they have received my e-mails plz?? |
Yes, it's been recieved!!
Both Pete and I get the emails, so they def won't be missed. Pete is dealing with replies though and I'm sure he'll get back to you shortly :) |
Right everyone who's entered so far should have had confirmation now  (sorry for delay but I've been busy!)
Current Schedule for the day is: 9:00am....Booking in 10:00am...Practice round (x1) 11:00am...Drivers briefing 11:15am...Qualifying rounds (x4) 3:15pm (approx)...Finals (x1) There will be hotdogs, tea and coffees as well as the usual crisps, chocolate and cans. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us again. But please keep EMAILING those entries to us - no email = no entry! We're up to 14 x 2wd, 10 x 4wd and no trucks at the moment. Come on guys this is well down on last year as there are a few double entries in here. |
Thats another few entries :)
|
Me and reg are so gutted we can't be there!!
|
Ill be entering, you'll get my e-mail later today Pete.
|
Met weather report say its going to rain a little on Thursday and a lot Friday
BBC say rain on Thursday and Friday Both say dry weekend. When will you guys update on the track decision |
You should all just assume it'll be outside, as that is always going to be main plan!
Weather forecasts do look fine...if not perfect currently  We've only ever planned to move it indoors as an absolute last resort backup plan if it's REALLY wet. And the main point of mentioning it is that whatever the weather we will have racing so it won't be a wasted journey for anyone. We'll check the forecast officially on Saturday afternoon before we setup the track, but see no reason currently to go inside. |
Ok brill, Thanks for clearing that up
I don’t know where I got the idea from but I was under the random impression that it was going to be announce mid week as to the track status, Sorry if any one has read my post and got confused . Andy you’re indoors track rock buddy, will we see some of the magic features outside or are we keeping it old skool?, What ever the weather track, surfaces ( grass, mud ,carpet)looking forward to my first regional in a long time. |
Well last year is was literally just the natural features of the field out front. I have been thinking about adding to it, but we'll probably see how brave we're feeling when we setup!
Either way it should be good racing  Was ace fun last year! :D |

I assume that we will be allowed to pit in the carpark, weather permitting?
Also, has anyone managed to confirm the entry fee costs please? |
Surely a decision should be made as to the running indoors or out before Sat afternoon for the simple reason of set-up. I for one have a very different set-up between indoors and out and will be really rushed to get it done Sat afternoon.
Maybe a decision should be made Friday night so it gives us a chance to make any time consuming changes? P.s, not a rant. Lol |
With British weather who knows what will happen, Friday night is too early to say anything really...but as I said before...the decision is now what it always has been...we're running on the grass!!!
Not only that, but we're all in the same boat set up wise. Having said that...my B44.1 setup from Oswestry, which is an old skool grass track just like ours will be, was absolutely blinding last friday night at club! And to be honest, I've been using basically the same setup indoor and out for our club tracks all year this year since the nationals started without any troubles. Only thing I'd change at a push would be the gearing! Remember, our indoor tracks aren't like anyone elses....they are practically outdoor offroad tracks with a roof on anyway So inthe unlikely event that it hoons it down all day on Sunday, you have nothing to worry about! |
Bored of talking about out or in or weather now...can we just look forward to top days racing on the grass now please!!!
