York Indoor Regional

We have a meeting last night to sort this out.

One thing that people need to be aware of:

We will not be allowing people to have large open holes in thier shells that either:

a) allow a fan to protrude outside of the shell

or

b) allow a marshalls finger to go inside the shell and get caught on a fan.

I have noticed (while marshalling - ouch! ) that this is becoming more and more common. If this applys to your car then please fix it before York Regional, we will have a scrutineer at all times on race day that WILL fail your car.

This is a BRCA rule.

Thanks,

Graham

Now get your entries in! :D

What about holes that do not have a fan protruding/inside of them? Just mine has a big hole in the side but there isnt a fan on any more.

Also, any chance fo a post code? :D

Technically, the holes you make in the shell should only be made where the moulding is marked to be cut. This is an Efra rule, not sure if it is a BRCA rule.

I think G is more concerned about safety, than penalising someone for having a hole which causes no harm.

josh_smaxx 12-01-2008 10:23 PM

Ye, i'll put tape round the rim so it isnt sharp :)

Col 12-01-2008 11:56 PM

Bring the tape with you, so the hole can be covered (just in case...)

josh_smaxx 13-01-2008 07:17 AM

will do ;)

mattym0310 13-01-2008 06:54 PM

Nope not yet for BRCA meetings :(

Northy 14-01-2008 09:09 AM

The BRCA homologation lists are updated on a Monday usually, so if they go on there today then they will be allowed, if not then no. Sorry.

I heard they are in the process of being homologated though.

Now that is the idiot proof way of giving somebody an adress. Instead of making them look for it.:D:D:D

Northy 16-01-2008 04:31 PM

So..........

Has everyone entered? I've been sketching a track today, should be good :D

Current entry:

2wd - 35
4wd - 64

G

ben 16-01-2008 04:48 PM

Remember the track has to has some big kick ass jumps. But ones that need some sort of skill and rhythm:D

lil ben

LEGEND 16-01-2008 04:56 PM

So what you are saying is that you need a huge wall of death. I can remember the one at teesside. IU managed to hit the roof with both my 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive.:cool::D

josh_smaxx 16-01-2008 05:04 PM

Ye, we want one awesome jump that gives the car great air, has time gained from landing it properly but needs some balls to launch the cars properly  wall of death would be great mind. I wanted a crossover at teesside last week :(

EDIT: well, we want more than one jump, lots of small ones aswell, make sure its still recognisable as offroad.

LEGEND 16-01-2008 05:09 PM

Yes a bridge sort of jump would be great but i am not expecting it, it just makes it a little more fun to marshall as-well.:D

ben 16-01-2008 05:12 PM

Erm i didnt mean a jump like teesside had. Full throttle and land it somewhere near the landing:rolleyes::rolleyes: I mean big jumps which need throttle control and you need to hit a landing:) At a club meeting we had a semi wall of death because their was loads of table with fold out legs so we just folded out one set of legs was good.

Ben

josh_smaxx 16-01-2008 05:17 PM

Something as big as teesside but needs more skill, make it more interesting ect, at teesside there wasnt exactly much time gained from full throttling it and it wasnt exactly hard to land. My ideal jump would be like a triple but in the floor, like 3 bumps, wide enough apart not to clear in one and close enough together not to get a good run up for the next followed by a good, long table top then one more bump right after it so you need to land it correctly or it could end up in a bad accident. Just my £0.02 :)

Northy 16-01-2008 05:17 PM

Was that at York Ben?
Are those tables available for us to use? I've never seen them....

G

AndyM 16-01-2008 05:23 PM

i don't think they are there anymore...there was a massive pile of them, but they disappeared.

andy_n 16-01-2008 05:51 PM
