POSSIBLE DATES FOR CANCELLED EVENTS

POSSIBLE DATES ARE AS FOLLOWS

JUNE 26TH JULY 17TH SEPTEMBER 11TH

Whilst i,m sure by now most people will have sorted they race calender ,booked their holidays etc Due to the 2 events being cancelled/postponed in order to put the championship back on track the above dates may need to be used As Chairman of the WRCA my priority is to run ALL of the rounds if possible and whilst they may clash with other peoples championships and summer series it cant be helped As soon as I know what dates the clubs concerned can or want to use we will publish it on this forum

26th June no good for at least 3 of us nitro runners commited to ledbury series.

Ian F 11-06-2011 04:45 PM

I was thinking of the 26th but if that's Ledbury it's a no go, I will check the other dates and get back soon

Ian F 11-06-2011 04:47 PM

17/07 and 11/09 are 1/8 national dates, oh well looks like no saundersfoot round

Ian F 11-06-2011 05:02 PM

How about 07/08?

jaffacake 11-06-2011 06:13 PM

Fine by me but the 7th is the nitro x round at talywain as far as i know, not sure how many welsh nitro were planning on doing that.

hywel 11-06-2011 06:40 PM

i tried to avoid that date because of the nitrox dont forget even though it is at talywain it is organised by Swanswa club so that will me most of their members plus talywain club members will be either organising or racing

hywel 11-06-2011 06:52 PM

the only compromise i can come up with is as follows

in order to give the nitro section an equal number of rounds with the electric section would be to run the saundersfoot round on the 28th of august
Before i get jumped on from a great height by the internet warriors Yes i realize its the same day as Cobras meeting but thats for electrics only so Saundersfoot would be for Nitros only.

Not the idea situation i know ( Im sure someone will point out it classes with ledbury a nitrox round or their Grannies zimmerframe grand prix) but unless we can come up with something else we are in danger of losing yet another round of the Wrca champs :mad::mad:

Ian F 11-06-2011 06:55 PM

Just spoke with steve(Swansea club) and he has confirmed they are running the meeting so the 7th august is a no, think the best thing would be to run on the 26th June, I know I might not be ideal for everyone but it's the only free date

jaffacake 11-06-2011 07:04 PM

No its not ideal at all as i said earlier
Its a ledbury round who we are supposed to be including in the callendar
EDIT- I will admit when i make a boob, just checked the dates & fair play it looks as no other date available so us nitros will just have to make the choice

Ian F 11-06-2011 07:15 PM

I know you can't make it and Ledbury couldn't make this weekend so theres nothing to say another date won't clash for them, as they say you cannot please all of the people all of the time, sorry but if it's the only available date it's a choice of meeting or no meeting. I will leave it up to everyone to decide if you want a welsh league or not

hywel 11-06-2011 07:35 PM

Just to clarify something when ray powney and i set up the interclub events it was just for 2 meeting ie one at ledbury and a second at talywain that is all .
if you choose to support the rest of ledburys summer series thats your choice as it would be if a ledbury choose to support us by coming to more of our rounds .

big dave 11-06-2011 08:06 PM

It's always the case with such a busy calendar. We need to get these rounds back for the series to be complete.

Dont think the 28th of aug would be a good idear. As I'm sure the electric racers would want to race at Saunders foot. And nitro entrys would be low due to the amount that attends the hong nor cup on that date.

It's hard to please everyone. But I think the club and the wrca committee should decide the next available date and just add it in.

dick don 11-06-2011 08:42 PM

Can't you just tag it on to the end of the season if there are no dates spare, just make one.

axeman 12-06-2011 05:59 PM

how about saundersfoot on the saturday 6th of august down to the gower camp and have a drink at swanseas track then race on the 7th sunday

Hard core!!!!

Swansea is running a nitro x round on the 6th and 7th of Aug at tallywain, so don't think there will be any nitro's available on those dates.

axeman 13-06-2011 04:06 PM

OK sorry. well whatever sunday swansea's is on have saundersfoot on the saturday then down to the gower for drinky poos and racing on the sunday

DCM 13-06-2011 04:10 PM

Wait for the 'I cant race Saturdays, thats not fair' comments....

Ian F 13-06-2011 04:31 PM

Saturdays are a no for me

dick don 13-06-2011 04:48 PM

Why can't you just tag a date on to the end of the season??????????

Dyna 13-06-2011 04:54 PM

Errr Dick Don has a point... why not add on a date to the end of the season ?

Yes i know the 'official' WRCA summer season is May - September, but lets face it, these days the first 2 weeks in October are pretty warm outdoors and i doubt it couldnt be more wet than our June has been ? Just bung one date on there, and maybe a Saturday or the August Bank Holiday for the other if we really have to ? Ok some of wont be able to do it, but it might be a compromise ?

Jamie.T 13-06-2011 05:10 PM

I'm looking to do all the WRCA regionals this year to get an F grading ahead of next years nationals.

As such, I've planned my calendar around the dates already set. Sadly I'm away on holiday on the proposed date of 26/06/11.

I know it's nobodies fault the weather was bad, but re-organising it to a date which disadvantages anybody would not be fair. As Matt and Simon suggested, just tag a date onto the end of season where we can put the new date into our calendars with plenty of time.

DCM 13-06-2011 05:36 PM

I may well be wrong, but I was under the belief that the 'electric 10th regionals' had to be completed by the F3's? I MAY BE WRONG

dick don 13-06-2011 05:50 PM

And the F3's would be the indoors I take it?

Yeah i think you are Steve - its the rating from last year that counts towards this years F3s & F2s. And this years, to next years.

Plus, one of our rounds was already set for 2 weeks after the F3's & 2's anyway

I know we have worked our way to the dates set to get our F-Licences at the start of the season, but everyone should be ready for at least one cancellation per year Jamie and accept a re-date, even if it dosent suit us ?

Im going with Dick Dons suggestion for the re-schedules - one set on a Saturday sometime, and one at the end of the season, even if its the start of October.

dick don 13-06-2011 07:07 PM

The Saturday idea was the axeman's but am in agreement with that one, no reason why we could't race on Saturdays, opens up lots of possible dates.

Body Paint 13-06-2011 07:32 PM

Just to clear up the BRCA thing for 10 th guys. If a round is rescheduled the counting rounds will be reduced by 1. So if we had 6 elect ric rounds with 4 to count then reschedule 2 rounds we end up with 2 to count from 6 I think or maybe 3 from 6?? I'll get my handbook out

Trouble is Matt, i cant make the COBRA round at the mo due to being away with work, so that was going to be my 1 dropped round. :(

No worries tho, ill go with what ever the majority vote for.

After the ruling has been clarified by Craig, i think our options should be put to vote on here.

hywel 15-06-2011 05:46 PM

when would you like the session to end 31st of december perhaps

hywel 15-06-2011 05:52 PM

We normally run to the 50% plus 1 so if we drop rounds such as GNR and saundersfoot then the ELECTRIC REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP would consist of CALDICT COBRA TALYWAIN AND SWANSEA So as per the above you would be required to do 3 round to count for your license grade

hywel 15-06-2011 05:59 PM

Under Normal circumstances the chairman of the 1/0th section likes the electric regionals to be sorted by the end of august And then the end of season OUTDOOR finals for f2 and f3 are held in september however sometimes they run passed this suggested cut off date

With respect H, no-one is suggesting we change the season for good or any future year for that matter - its just a possible answer to extend this season a couple of weeks or so, due to the two cancellations we have had, so we can fix them in and get some local racing in.

I cant see what problem that would cause ?

HERE HERE!!

Just pick a date early October for gods sake, way too much faffing in general.

hywel 15-06-2011 06:50 PM

We are only looking to reschedule or cancel if required Saundersfoots Round

After a discussion with Paul Knight last evening He has stated that Gnr wont be holding a round this year

I was hoping Ian Ford would be able to run his round on 26th of this month thus sorting that problem However he has not confirmed this as yet

DCM 15-06-2011 06:56 PM

I am hearing voices of future WRCA committee in this thread!!

Belsten 15-06-2011 07:21 PM

I dont mind when it is as im only doing the nationals and it cant clash with those. Wasnt there 2 rounds last year after the F2's anyway ?
Are there many people planning on doing the F2's & F3's this year ? Held at Silverstone & Coventry respectively

Any update on this yet H ? I presume it wont be on this coming weekend now at the very least ?

jaffacake 21-06-2011 09:34 AM

Can we just have confirmation as to wether its on or off??????????
I hope racers from other regions are not reading this because quite frankly all this indecision is bloody embarassing
