Looks like tomorrow Captain will be able to prove to Buds and Matt just how much of a talented driver he is by kicking loads of sand into their cars when he is out front in the A Final.....hmmmm

:p

captainlip 11-06-2011 07:24 PM

If they did an E final we would know where you'd be at :D

captainlip 11-06-2011 07:31 PM

Appears to be heavy rain after 12pm tomorrow according to met office

Si Coe 11-06-2011 07:55 PM

That means that the Durango owners will go home at the first sign of drizzle and the rest of us will play in the rain!

Seriously, last weeks times were virtually unchanged between a dry track and chucking it down.

Whiskers 11-06-2011 07:56 PM

If anything the track gets better when it is a bit damp

captainlip 11-06-2011 08:11 PM

I'd rather keep my investment clean and dry! This ain't nitro racing.

Isn't that the whole point of OFF ROAD racing? Go and race snoring cars if you want to keep dry!

Hes got a point lip!!

captainlip 11-06-2011 08:56 PM

But where's the jumps, berms, table tops in touring cars?

If it's raining I won't be racing and I'll just be laughing at the state of josh's buggy with astro and sand stuck everywhere.

I couldn't give a crap if the little boy has a point :D

captainlip 11-06-2011 09:02 PM

Has anyone heard if billyb is turning up?

Si Coe 11-06-2011 09:05 PM

TBH Phil I wouldn't worry about the weather.

Its not like your car is going to do more than 3 laps before all 4 wheels fall off and the diffs explode......

captainlip 11-06-2011 09:13 PM

Only have wheel issues indoor carpet, and diffs are Adam skeldings so would worry about any issues :D

Weather should be ok just mentioned it will apparently rain after 12

BillyB 12-06-2011 08:26 AM

I've seen several films with the word Bear in the title. Of course they tend to spell it differently......

captainlip 12-06-2011 07:01 PM

Shame to see the weather again ruining a good day!

And after Josh giving crap about racing in wet he didn't even show his face, nor did "know it all" mike Powel

Hope to get out next time as need some practice here as only had one outting here with the rango and that was weeks ago!

Stotty 12-06-2011 07:09 PM

Sick of the so called great british weather.
Hopefully get a nice weekend next week.

minke 12-06-2011 07:13 PM

If you remember Phil, because I say it practically every race meet, I work alternate weekends. Know it all? Hardly. In fact most of us know that picking your car up from practically all 4 corners of the track ain't right.

Oh and spell my name right next time, its only in my sig and written on my cars

OK, you arrived at the track, but your Durango never left your boot, so I don't think you can claim you did any better!

Anyway - the track is all weather, but it seems the people aren't! Cold and damp stopped racing, not puddles.
Rog and I were talking about some cover for the rostrum and pitting. You'll still get wet marshalling, but thats about all. Then something like today shouldn't stop us.

it would be good si if the club could get a couple of gazebos,if we put them next to each other we would all fit under?
what did you have in mind for the rostrum?

minke 12-06-2011 07:23 PM

Bought a 3m x 3m gazebo for the next meeting yesterday. Maybe get a team Hopeless logo on it?

If you turned up with your glasses on which I'm sure you did you would have noticed the Durango was out for two good occasions before the rain came pouring down.

Either way minke you will never see wheels falling off outdoors only high traction carpet tracks, hardly much of a problem when you always either have your front end hanging off or electical issues as you haven't a clue, not to mention chasing your car down the track because the range is about 10ft before being out of range, clearly it's you with all the gear and no idea.... And no idea how to stay on a track mr powellelwowlell

mattb 12-06-2011 07:29 PM

my car was pissed wet through but it was quite clean once it had dried out!!
