Track work

4 Attachment(s)
Spent a full day rotovating, digging, raking, rolling and levelling at heath today. Things are starting to come together have a few shots of the work in progress from mid afternoon today before we did any rolling to flatten ready for the astroturf.
Tomorow (sunday) should see majority of the astro going down which will allows us to see what areas if any will need further improvement :D
Thanks to all the helpers today

Mans Work!!

Just need someone to drain the blood from me forearms now!

JACKOR33 04-06-2011 10:01 PM

I think i have vibration white 'belly' from those rotovators :woot:

Belsten 04-06-2011 10:28 PM

Looking good guys :)

JACKOR33 04-06-2011 10:33 PM

We've pulled the top few inches off the top area by the trees and brought that down the sloping mid section of track, to make nice gentle sloped area from top to bottom.
The old " blind jump" infront of the rostrum was the first casulty today ;)

Who needs Viagra when you can rest it on a vibrating roller!

Nice picture of my arse!

Was bloomin hard work today, but well worth it. A few more hours to finish off at the top and a bit of fettling when it's settled down in a week or two and it will be brill.

i4n 05-06-2011 06:46 PM

And yes, you can throttle it down where the straight normally is now

We tested that before we left today.......

Jamie.T 05-06-2011 06:49 PM

Awesome work guys, you should be proud.

Looking forward to running when its finished.

DCM 05-06-2011 06:50 PM

sand has got to be swept/blown/hoovered off and a little whacking down in areas and just astro-turfing up in the tree's then it will be all complete!

That's for another day.

We're also planning on putting some features into the track too, but the main objective of this weekend was to break the back of the work needed to make the area suitable to race on again. Which we did :)

There will be more opportunities to lend a hand later in the year.......

Looking good guys.

gave my appologies to Steve as I tried up with playing Taxi for the kids partys they had to attend.

loking forword to runnig on the new straigh :):)

adz2383 06-06-2011 12:25 PM

Seriously chaps- this looks fantastic. Great effort by the very small group who made this happen. I apologize for not being able to attend myself.

I will however try my hardest to make the next 'work day'. In fact I have banned the 'other half' from arranging anymore 'wedding meetings' until the track is complete!

Do we have a date for the next round of track work?

After a quick session last night with a heavy duty blower :woot: and some brushes we have cleared the excess sand from just under half the astroturf area so it looks a bit more green now:thumbsup:

I was there on monday evening with the dog - couldn't help but notice the tell tale marks of minispike tyres being spun up in certain areas!

looks amazing though. incredible work. are you planning to do anything to those trees at the top? they always made a gnarly surface change section.

JACKOR33 08-06-2011 10:45 AM

Minispikes spun on there never :D:p

Dont worry the top area will be astroturfed also ;)
We just ran out of time and strength over the weekend
