maseace 11-05-2011 06:00 PM

I am there fingers crossed with all but a new car my parts are on the way everything new motor esc servo recevier and trans all in the mat rat and maybe for the last time :)

mikeyscott 11-05-2011 06:12 PM

Potentially shaking down a return to Schumacher for 2WD with the SV. Couldn't justify the Vega, even though it's an amazing piece of kit. Prob the only car I've never had grip roll issues with full spiked tyres on it.. But I have a plan thanks to Tony at Rudebits :) - standard chassis I expect, but I know Martin and co rate the 8mm chassis. However it's back to LEARNING a car and rolling with it. If I change 2WD again in 2011 beers on me at the pub!

New shell posting to Janos this week too :) - at least I don't have a car that's fugly anymore :woot:

Next up will be the 4WD soon to get it ready for the next regional I'm attending at Silverstone. TRF511 ;) - got the old girl back.

Mike

I can't believe you have got rid of the Vega when it was going so well:o

If it had been the B4 version I would have had it off you though!!

Just stripped the X6 down and found 3 knackered bearings in gearbox and hubs, both rear outer wishbone hingepins completely bent out of shape (at both ends!!), wishbones hingepin holes so worn that I can have 0 or 3 degrees toe in just by moving the wheel and the front plastic bulkhead broken so the front wishbones had loads os slop.

Scary thing is this is how I ran the car at the last all day event!!

New parts on way!!

Possibly see you Sunday

Cheers

Rob

MrMagoo 15-05-2011 03:31 PM

The track is really good now, my first race at TORCH was the last run on the old layout, looking at it now I can't believe how much it's improved and how little time (but not effort!) it taken to do. Hats off to everyone involved... I'll be getting the 'Rango ready to go for the all dayer, can't wait!

hotrodchris 15-05-2011 03:34 PM

Good photos John

RudeTony 15-05-2011 03:59 PM

You guys have done a superb job on the track and I really enjoyed the day down there today. All very friendly racers that made us all very welcome. Track was ace and so was the racing and the way it was all run. See yah soon and thanks again........

Northern Monkey 15-05-2011 04:08 PM

Great days racing, some close racing with Chris and Matt throughout the day. Now the 22's dialled in might even sell the Cougar. Just a shame that won't be racing now for about 4 weeks :(

Indeed great days racing today, prob would have been quicker with my ex Vega, but I have my reasons for switching back to the SV. Pretty happy with it. 8mm chassis and rudebits stuff inbound :)

maseace 15-05-2011 06:08 PM

Well done dude.

The money you spent on electronics have paid dividends and your setup on the madrat seemed to work well on the track. You will only get better with practice and proves that the madrat can be competitive.

jpmatrix 15-05-2011 06:37 PM

Track is awesome now and enjoyed the racing after a few weeks off due to work.

Although my motor gave up the ghost during the third round I got my first 9 lapper with the ansmann mad monkey on its first run and knocked off 2secs of my personal best lap time, so pretty pleased with the car. Just need to practice and work on setup.

maseace 15-05-2011 08:10 PM

:thumbsup:thanks mate, the car was so much better after the front being lifted, just seemed more planted but the servo made the most difference i think, just seemed to be able to catch the mistakes before i crashed. i just enjoyed driving it today  was not flat out so she has more for the future when i get better. (come on the mighty rat:eh?:ha ha).

The mad monkey looks good as well very settled must be the mid motor set up
