first round Tuesday 3rd of May 2011 :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: |
Trohpies have now arrived for the first Shootout Meeting next week.
Will you be in the running for the £100 1st place prize???? |
Knowing my driving, probably not!!
 (and for the actual final final, I'll still be in the canadian rockies!), but will still be coming along for the craic for the tuesday night meets! |
Hey, you could always nominate a sub driver for your car :woot:
|
LOL!
Isn't that the same as a 'ringer'?!!! Will see who I could bribe?!!! :woot: |
..... I'll ask if Lee Martin is free :woot:
Looking forward to this now!! |
Boom. In 24 hours it will all be over! I can't wait for it to start.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
|
True, will be a good milestone to get under our belts. This is only the first night so plenty for rounds to come!
|
Tonight....
Hello,
I'm looking to join you for some racing tonight... I am new to 10th off-roaders but have raced 10th on-road. I have a 2WD HPI truggy (same chassis as the HPI Blitz short course). Can you accomodate me? Cheers, Iain |
I'm looking forward to this!

Hi Unless I'm mistaken that is a different class to buggies so we can't let you race with them tonight. If you wanted to pop down for a practice before hand for a few minutes you'll be more than welcome. FYI we are planning on run short course on Sunday's. If there is call for 1/10th truggies we can run these too. HTH Neil |
Thanks for the quick response Neil.
On your website you have four classes listed as running per meeting - http://www.shrccc.co.uk/whatwerace.html Cheers |
Correct for Sundays (2 and 4wd buggy + Short Course and also run what you bring) Short Course and 'RWYB' are subject to numbers and might run together until interest ups.
However tonight is our first midweek 'Shootout' championship for buggies only. HTH Neil |
Thanks again. Hopefully see you soon.
|
Look forward to it. It's only tonights Shootout series that is so regimented on Sunday/normal Tuesdays it will be more open and relaxed.
|
GREAT start to the history of Surrey and Hants tonight :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Many thanks to all who turned out for the first ever meeting @ Surrey and Hants Radio Control Car Club. Well done to the winners tonight who are on their way to a £100 prize!!!!. Also, some great racing all the way through the field :woot: Good job I brought the 12v invester as the gennie seemed to be playing silly buggers , got there in the end thought  Next meeting on Sunday the 8th where is there is enough racers they'll be trophies on offer for our 'Open Meeting' :D Full results online here: http://www.shrccc.co.uk/Shootout1/heats.htm |
Cheers Neil, Excellent inaugural event with a superb atmosphere!
Shame I blew the front shock out on the CR2 and then broke the servo horn as I was just lapping round to get some track time  So had to resort to the old xxx which I just couldn't find the right set up or tyres for on the night! But despite that had a great fun evening... See ya next tues for practice and possibly a few heats too? Cheers, Mark |
Thanks for allowing me to have a blast with the truggy during practice. Thoroughly appreciated!
A really friendly, laid back and fun atmosphere - Especially liked the music on the rostrum. A great start and i wish you the best of luck with this new venture. I'll be back soon and quite possibly with a new car too. ;) |
Cheers Mark, sorry about your woes but you got there in the end!.
Ian, many thanks, sorry I couldnt spent more time with you but I was a little bit tied up!. Glad you like the track.... when is the new toy arriving? :woot: |
Hopefully the TLR 22 will arrive today. :)
What wind motor would you recommend.... Something like a 7.5T? Also what tyres and inserts are people finding successful? |
Good choice. Other TLR drivers down at the club are The Hatton twins and Simon Fearn. There was another but forgotten who drove it, was white I think
They can help you with shocks and positions etc but the tyres are simple, Schumacher Yellow Mini Spikes on the rear and Yellow Staggered or Cut Ribs on the front. Good luck on the build!. Might see you Sunday also? |
I've also got a TLR 22 and was looking at coming down to race soon (as soon as my Lipo turns up!!). The cut/staggered ribs are a slim tyre, but the 22 uses wide front wheels like a 4wd, do you just stretch the tyres across or should I get some slim wheels?
|
You have three options.
1: Buy a Slim Wheel (if they make them) 2: Stretch fit (not hard to do) 3: Dremel the wheel fin down I use option 2. Seems to work fine on my B4.1. This is for the old style staggered rib and the new style. People say they handle differently but I cant tell. Note this could be down to my driving skills rather than anything technical!!!!! |

i'll be there, defending my lead
|
I may be a late entry, works been manic
|
No problem Ian, looks like it'll be a busy one!
|
If the whether stays onside it could be a great turnout. If we have more than 30 drivers (which might be possible :woot:) we might only get two heats in and one final. If this is the case the race fees will be lowered to suit. I would prefer to drop the cost than not allow people to race.
|
Neil,
Do we need to prebook in anywhere to make things a bit quicker and easier for you to get the names in? Also payment, paypal again? - Let me know either here, pm, or email. Mark |
Once people are in the programme it's pretty straight forward. We'll cross the pre book thing if we need to, I'm sure we'll be fine :D
Hey it's a nice issue to have to think about! |
aye,
no complaining here either!! Will also dig out my PT no' and email it to you (I've got it written down 'somewhere'!!) Looking forward to it, and hope car no1 doesn't break this time!!! |
A couple of Tuesdays and a fabulous Sunday day event. Lots of people finding the groove on the ever changing grip surface of the natural grass track, not as predictable as manmade surfaces.
Look forward to it, lets pray for sunshine. |
Chef,
Looks like the prayings working, looking dry at the moment :thumbsup: Might try some Fastrax tyres ;) |
Hi Neil. Please book me in for Tuesday. Same details as before
4wd cheers Mike Vorley |
All done Mike, all booked with same PT number .
To all, there is no 'need' to pre book in but it does help if I dont have all your details :woot:. |
