Broxtowes new offroad Astro Track

For those who dont visit the Broxtowe section, just thought Id let you all know about the new track thats being done. For full pictures from day 1 see the broxtowe section but here is what its looking like now. Will be ready for astroturfing by saturday.

Looks like this could be excellent, I haven't raced at Broxtowe in a long time (national or radio race car with Tony Evdoka and Brett Birch "arguing" on the rostrum, remember that Tony? :lol:)
I used to do the Snowman and the Badger series there ............ god i'm old :cry: |

Looks like it could be great.... remember racing there on the outdoor track when I was just 13.
Any idea on when its likely to be completed? (Not pressuring, just getting excited... :woot:) |

Yeah, its been compressed and flattened by machine then the astro laid on top.

Got to try it out for the first time today!!! Still lots to cut in and needs a sweep and clean up etc but jumps worked well and stuff.

Looks good Dan. One thing I would say - just keep an eye on driver's visability (pardon the pun!!). It looks like there could be a couple of points were the driver might not be able to see the car, and that wouldn't be ideal I don't think. Could just be the camera angle though.

Has all been thought about mate when building it and all the track is viewable:thumbsup:. Weve even built up the corners at the begining of the straight that sloped off so the track width is much more in view.

Oh yeah, that goes without saying! Just thinking about everyone else, especially on the big jumps nearest the driver. Glad it's all fine though.

club meet 10th april due to the fact that the new track build has gone so well we are able to run a meeting earlier than expected there is still work to be done there will be a work party on sat 9th april from 9am (not 3pm!) hoses need filling, painting to be done etc. if no one turns up to help i will can the meeting!! (dont assume somebody else will do it, they won't ! and I've got an 1/8th ready to race ) entries on the day or to me please booking in around 9 practice when track ready usual 4+1 depending on numbers cheers andy p.s no help sat no race sun! |
This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It should do as long as we get some help on the Saturday. We just have some hoses to fill, concrete to paint and a bit of track sweeping. :thumbsup:

All the astro has now been stuck down and finished and all is needed is painting and track markings. Please come and help tommorrow and all will be finished in no time at all if lots show up. Dont know what we'll do if we finish early....:p:p:p

lol. Just kids messing about. We let them use it and dont try to stop them. The track was built to withstand bikes as theres no way of stopping them. Its seems to stop them from trying to burn stuff! Respectful chavs!!:thumbsup:

The track looks fantastic and your X6 really seems to go well! Building a track is an insane amount of work. We did ours last year and it was 2 months of hard graft. First race on new track makes it all worth it! |
