Any more news on 22 release?

I heard on the grapevine that the development team have been testing different materials for the gearbox inners after a few problems and that this had put back the supply date a few weeks from the original February estimate. I have seen a date of 20th March on some U.S. hobby stores. Just wondered if anyone had any updated news? Better to get these issues sorted than rush the launch I reckon. Not too long I hope as would like a few weeks testing before the outdoor season proper starts though if possible.

millser 01-03-2011 02:24 PM

anyone know the date of release yet?

pugboy 01-03-2011 03:07 PM

Some US hobby stores are/were listing them as in stock so must be imminent....

Timee80 01-03-2011 03:45 PM

just rang horizon. They said end of march/ beginning of april

Whiskers 01-03-2011 05:55 PM

Modelsport are listing it as 31st March

Getting bored of waiting :(

racingdwarf 01-03-2011 07:48 PM

was told over the weekend by the top man that they will be end of this month, there is no probs with the car, just the factory making them,on slow due to holliday...chinese new year:cry:, giving TLR the run around

NBLOY 04-03-2011 10:55 PM

yay, just pre ordered mine with je spares :D :D :D

Ben Turner 09-03-2011 11:52 AM

Any update? Im guessing we can still expect it to arrive later this month?? Cant wait :woot:

Legacy555 09-03-2011 01:56 PM

I'd much rather that TLR have the bugs run out of the car and for there to be good availability of spares than to have the kit prematurely/too early.

Doesn't matter to me whether it comes this month or the next as long as it's right.

Yeah Shanghai to LA I reckon. I'd reckon they'll be in the UK shops by the 31st if that is the case. Fingers-crossed

the first build step is the servo, looks like changing a servo could be a pain

jimmy 11-03-2011 02:32 PM

Is that going to be on the rcracer website chief?

Bagman 11-03-2011 02:34 PM

Bagman 11-03-2011 02:37 PM

They probably should have weighed it with the sidepods on though

JustARcFan 11-03-2011 02:56 PM

How much is the weight of this car rtr?

MattADH 11-03-2011 04:12 PM

OneKiwi 11-03-2011 09:50 PM

Q do you have to get those special shorter lipos to run the 22? Or are they just recommended? will stick packs work or only the new lipos and saddle packs?

Anyone know the battery compartment size

c0sie 12-03-2011 12:54 AM

Who is racing for the Losi team this year then??

No you don't have to get the 96mm battery to run the 22, a lot of the team have been running saddle packs in the car during testing. The short stick will be something the team will be playing with as it does free up a little more space in the car not to mention change the front/rear weight bias in the car.

Ross 12-03-2011 11:01 AM

Can we still run saddles and a standard servo ?

Delves 12-03-2011 11:19 AM

I believe so, in the space between the servo and the battery you would have the receiver and PT, and the ESC would have to be mounted on the motor guard as per the official chassis shots (I'm assuming you will be running in mid configuration).

If you can put a half size servo in it though you can get all the electronics in the space and run saddle packs. In all the testing done in the UK Andy and David ran saddle packs with a Castle Creations MMP ESC up the front and managed to get the micro Spektrum receivers next to it. Bit of a squeeze but it can be done.

OneKiwi 12-03-2011 12:11 PM

Little off topic but with the micro receiver does it have to be a spektrum micro to work with spektrum? Or are there other brands that work as well
