New Track Info

Just to let everybody know, the counsil will be starting either next week or the following week!
We are having a new track and they are going to try and re-use as much stuff as possible.
We are having a brand new rostrom.
The contractor has said it will probably take untill the summer untill it is finished but at least it will be started.

Good news,

What will be state of play for regionals this year ?

Si Coe 16-02-2011 06:04 PM

AFAIK the regional dates haven't been set yet - I certainly couldn't find any. So Bury's dates could be adjusted to be later in the year.

But I also think it is our intention in the meantime to use our indoor track markings and jumps to set out a grass track course elsewhere in Goshen park, just to keep the racing going. We can rotate the exact location to avoid serious wear on the turf.

Great news. Big thanks to the Woods and the Bury committee as I am sure Bury will be the envy of the British RC off road community.

Where is the new track going to located.. Many memories of the goshen track.. Bit far to come and race there.. Oh to have grip going round corners... Those were the days.

The race controller 18-02-2011 11:55 AM

Mud racing ??

The track is only moving next to the old one, nearer the car park and rotated 90 degrees.
(Mud racing or is it still dry where you are?)

track will be a while yet but keep an eye on here and you will be racing before you no it. and we run indoor and probaby outdoor on grass to

Spencer Mulcahy 03-03-2011 05:21 PM

Its amazing what you can do wen you have the right equipment. What they have done would take a month of saturdays. This is a blank canvas and the chance to make a belting track.

Rcnitrotech 03-03-2011 05:38 PM

:D i might buy a traxxas slash or r evo not to sure tho :)

They are not really that great for racing though. Really you need a 1-10th buggy not a truck (except if your name is Johnny!)

Rcnitrotech 03-03-2011 08:42 PM

what cars do you suggest to buy ?

Si Coe 03-03-2011 08:50 PM

B4.1 Brushless RTR.

There was one racing with us last Sunday looking pretty decent straight out of the box.
We do have a few trucks that race though, so if you want a Slash its got some competition, but you'll find the Slash is the least raceworthy truck, so will find it harder. If the short course style appeals, the HPI Blitz is a better truck than the Slash.

johnnygibbon 04-03-2011 09:30 AM

goshen is having a truck class this summer
even if its just me johnny nitro si rc10 and the kids with trucks
driiiiift smashhhh yeah
trucks rule
check the bifg dirt triples they built in rogs pic

that will sort the men from the boys

4cells 04-03-2011 03:00 PM

Looks like Rock Crawling to me

The race controller 05-03-2011 04:35 PM

Saturday 5th March

It looks smaller than the old track..............or is it me?

And the vandals have had a go at burning the pile of astro.

tisher 05-03-2011 05:34 PM

if the council have left the astro turf where it can get vandalised then they will have to replace it do you have a set size the council are working to?
