What shock oil do you use?
What shock oil do you use?
And why? |
Factory Team as its what the shop stock.
|
Poll!
|
Hiro Seiko - because its the best value on the market for cost effective racing
or Losi - because it is colour coded, used on LOTS of set up sheets by top drivers, a large range from 10wt to 100wt, and the bottles are conveniently numbered on top for easy indentifacation in the pit box too  |
Losi, because the newer AE bottles suck :(
|
Hey, is the latest Losi oil still colour coded?
|
Yes mate, except that all of the "half weights" are clear as is 30wt, but all others are coloured still
|
Ohh, that'll be it, half weights are clear.
|
AE Factory Team - because its used on B4 & B44 set-ups.
Thinking of changing to Losi as its coloured though. Matt |
Which agreed the halfs are used more and more nowadays but the rest are still OK
Blue - 20wt Green - 25wt Clear - 30wt (and all half weights too) Orange - 35wt Purple - 40wt and so on........ |

I had a problem with them, I pressed too hard and the cap shot out, and everywhere shock oil.
But I still use the associateds Quote:

The Silicone is likely similar quaility for all but the accuracy of the viscosity is the problem.
Only one on your poll has some good accurate viscosity ratings!!!! No guessing which i use and is the best:thumbsup: |

Lucky you!! MiCk B. :-) |
Much More adopted from touring cars, dont really see the point in changing.
|
Associated for now..but it doesn't fit in my new pit box, so might use Losi in the future.
|
AE but for the worst reason, it's what I have virtually always used.
Never had any reason to change, although the new bottles are a step backwards IMHO. |
LOSI, its simple like me. But i don't change colour according to my weight.
May move to Durango when i get round to buying a full range! |
I bought a job lot of 10wt & 20wt oil from a manufacturer of MTB shocks.
I mixed it together to make 30wt. It seems OK, maybe a little thinner than normal 30wt, but it was cheap and I have 7 litres of it. :eh?: |

If you start with the 20wt, but add an equal amount of 20wt - you get 40wt. Add the 10wt again and you've got 50wt! And like you said, it is awesome value and will last a lifetime. :woot::( |
Some interesting reading for you... http://www.twf8.ws/php/tip/shock.html
|
Cheers delly, I had lost that link.
Thanks guys, results are not what I expected! |
Losi Oils for me.
Colour coding and bottel size. |
schumacher, because thats what i was given at the shop
|
Losi oils for me, due to me trusting the weight being right for my understanding, as AE oil seems softer marginally. Losi bottle size is ideal - compared to Schumacher for example, and I don't understand the conversion to CST from WT.
|
Who sells MR33? Is it TRF exclusive? lol
