MMM combo and ACE 1015 to complete the package... :)

Knitter 04-02-2011 09:16 PM

Ahhh, congrats mate. This is by no means an revolution regarding the construction. But its a Mugen man... Probably still going when other China rides stands besides the track...... :p

Kurtje 05-02-2011 09:33 AM

Haha that's for sure...

It's my 3rd Mugen @ the moment besides the Durango dex410R. Got a MBX6 with a Ninja engine and Team orion servo's (VDS1007 and VDS2015), a MBX6T with an OS Speed XZB and ACE 1015 servo's ... So i love mugen!!!

crewdy 05-02-2011 08:14 PM

I want one. Where in the world are you guys? seems they are hard to get hold of in the UK.

Kurtje 05-02-2011 09:32 PM

I'm from Belgium ;)
Shop where mine came from got 16 pcs from Mugen...
All sold out :D

crewdy 05-02-2011 09:55 PM

Thanks. Lucky for you over there in Belgium ! Seems like electric 1/8 is slow to catch on in the UK:mad: could be the RAIN and more RAIN. But hopefully will do soon along with the mugen mbx6e.... looks awesome

Knitter 13-02-2011 08:48 PM

Yeah, I think they are going to be released in the States next week as well.

I guess we are "blessed" over here.... ;o)

Kurtje 14-02-2011 12:19 PM

Did you already drive it Knitter?
I'm waiting for my ESC mount at the moment...

Knitter 14-02-2011 07:38 PM

Kurtje 14-02-2011 07:51 PM

damn that is sad :(

Hope 2 drive it soon...

jasonwipf 17-02-2011 02:27 PM

Hi

i m a bit confused as to what combo to go for?
As i m looking at getting a tekin combo for a mbx6, can you explain why one is better than the other .
The reason i ask is the tracks i will be racing at vary in style ie one track is short tight and twisty and another is large bigger straights but still tecnical another is just wide open easy flowing.

i only want to purchase one motor due to costs so which will be better and can i do anything to compensate for the type of track i will run on.

I guess as i race in uk i will be racing with nitros so i want to have at least the same performance as them if not more.

Knitter 23-02-2011 07:55 PM

2050....

I think its a good compromise between speed and "comfort" for a Buggy. I used to run a 2200 (MMM) combo in both a Buggy and Truggy. Spot on in the Truggy but the car itself felt a bit sluggish. In the Buggy it was just brute power... A tad to much in fact. But it chewed Nitros as breakfast.... So I think 2050 will be spot on.

bandit 24-02-2011 06:19 PM

What size pinion will work best ?

area52 24-02-2011 06:32 PM

A quick and shameless plug for those who are interested in the T8/RX8 combos: clicky

We used a 2050kv motor on a small to medium size track with good results with 15T/46T gearing IIRC.

Culetto 24-02-2011 11:35 PM

Im running the MMM and 2650kv on 3s 14/46 indoor and 16/46 outdoor and its so nice and smooth and quiet, doesnt sound like the AE or Losi chainsaws running around the track. Im in the southwest US so our outdoor tracks are sandy and loamy for the most part and this thing is just sooooo dialed.

Chris119 25-02-2011 12:37 PM

Anyone got pics of it painted up with wheels mounted?

Not a very good pic was taken with my phone on the way out the door to the track, paint still smelled at this point, lol. I was too excited to wait.

Kurtje 26-02-2011 08:35 AM

wow nice one...
I'm finally putting my mmm and ace servo in this weekend...
Hope to try it next weekend!!!

Kurtje 26-02-2011 08:36 AM

You got some pics of the electrics installed?

jasonwipf 01-03-2011 02:50 PM

any car that sounds like a chainsaw does not have their gearing meshes right.

Kurtje 02-03-2011 10:42 PM

First little test of the electronics :D

Tomorrow i'm going to paint the body (and buy and Durango DEX410 :D)
Hopefully I can test the ECO friday or sunday at the track...

....or is made by associated:p Actually it may not be that they sound any louder than other previous 1/8 electrics its just that the mugen is really quiet.

Pic below is with the castle electronics installed, i have since switched to a Tekin rx8 and 2250 motor, still on 3s just went up to a 16t pinion. Still brutally fast and just tons more control (drift it through the turns with less traction:woot:). Still my favorite thing to drive, EVER.

Tested it yesterday... what do i need to say? :D it drives like a dream... :D
the 5mm longer chassis on it, gives it more stability!!!

kitesurfer73 07-03-2011 03:52 PM

Where to buy??

Wats the rrp on this beast?

Anyone in uk selling could be tempting?

Chris119 12-03-2011 04:19 PM

Does anyone have experience in driving this compared to say other E-Buggies out there now such as RC8Be, 8ight-E etc...? How does the ECO handle compared o them?
Im going to pick something up soon as I decide.

Kurtje 12-03-2011 09:09 PM

I only driven the HPI Vorza before my ECO and this is no comparison... The ECO drives very well out of the box! 2 vids from today (my 2nd run with de ECO and still testing)

Chris119 01-04-2011 11:37 PM

Just picked mine up!!
Anyone have any luck fitting a 4S lipo under the body? I got a 5200 mah SMC pack and body rubs the pack and now the body wont sit right

Kurtje 02-04-2011 12:42 PM

No problem with a 4s 4500 lipo over here...

Chris119 02-04-2011 07:38 PM

That sux I have a SMC 5200 and it will fit with body pins on but the body sits on an angle due to the battery and would majorly wear the paint. May have to try different battery

captainlip 27-10-2011 08:59 PM

this looks stunning!

In the right hands all of those buggies including the mugen are great. But the mugen is probably the best out of the box.

Mugen69 10-11-2011 01:03 PM

Mugen Eco

2 Attachment(s)
Still in the works of setting my eco up:) Anyone have any recommendations on a body that won't conflict with wires, and can someone recommend a good custom painter?

Thank you

geebee29 27-12-2011 11:13 AM

Hi falks,

few pics of my brand new Eco. Had a first quick run in the street yesterday. I was positively surprised by how silent the car is compared to the other 1/8 electric buggies.
