Hi,
Any truth in the rumour that caravans won't be allowed at the national?? |
I am really looking forward to seeing the national series return to what is without doubt my favourite track in the country. Sadly I will be too busy trying to make it a fantastic day for the rest of you to watch much racing :(
|
Dear Racers,
Kidderminster Model Car Club will be opening its gates to all those who wish to get some track time ahead of their national in June. With some intensive track maintenance scheduled over the next couple of months, this will be your last chance to use the track before it is closed until the national itself. The track will be open on Saturday April 23rd from 10.00am until approximately 4.30pm, with the invitation exclusively open to any drivers who are booked in for the national event. Attendees are required to pay a small fee on the day of £5 per driver, a club official will be present to take payment. Ahead of the day, if you wish to attend, please register by contacting Tony Meredith, his email address can be found on the BRCA Mid West website - http://www.brca-midwest.co.uk/contact.html under Kidderminster. Deadline for registering attendance is Thursday, April 21st. Thanks. KMCC |
Wow, whats happening to the track that will take 8 weeks to do?

I phoned up on the evening the pack arrived (the day after they were sent out), and all places had gone. I am first reserve :( Its understandable, due to limited space. Its disappointing, as myself, wife and my two daughters were to leave Newcastle the week before, holiday in the Peak district for a week, then move onto Kiddy to finish the holiday. But without a pitch, it looks like I'll have to cancel the week away aswell. Fingers crossed someone with a caravan decides to cancel. |
Chris, there is a camp / caravan site not far from the track but the name escapes me ... I'm sure a quick google will find it and save the day :)
|
Ok, thanks for that Roger, we'll look into it. Just with a 6 month old and a 2 year old as they will be at the time of the national, still might need the van with me?? I'll see how the kids are by then. Im sure Ill get something sorted. Thanks.
|
who ever is 1st reserve for this you will have just got in for both 2 & 4wd as ive pulled out of the event . enjoy
|
the track is looking awesome now!
|
Ah wraggy man! thats a shame.
Any new track pics/info yet? |
Pit Area
Dear All,
We have devised a layout for the pit area at the national this weekend. We are going to mark it out as clearly as possible, but our intention is to keep tent and vehicles seperate. We request that you park your cars around the permimeter of the field, and in the centre will be the roped off tent area - we will not allow cars into this area however you will be allowed to off load close to tents whilst volume allows. Look forward to seeing you all this weekend. KMCC |
good job i'm not in the van for this then. Not a lover of this idea at stotfold either to be honest:(. Ah well, at least the tracks gona be ace.
|
Although it does make it a little more difficult for people like me who pit out of / charge off their cars it is the most efficient way to use the space available at both Kidderminster and Stotfold.
Us RC racers are a messy bunch and would quite happily expand to cover the surface area of Heathrow if allowed to do so :D Going to be a top weekend for you all, trust me |
Will i still be able to pit from my van on the perimeter? or is it a long way from the rostrum!
|
Yeah you can pit from your vehicle if you wish, wherever you park you shouldn't be all that far from the track.
|
If/when it rains what tyres do I need guys, greens or bb's??
Phew, that question is the closest I've come to prep all year!:woot: |
bb's mate, careful you dont get another nosebleed
|
Can you use silvers?
|
They was allowed at Tally, so i guess that means yes.

There is enough room for everybody at Kidderminster but it will require careful parking. I know there is a layout planned and I hope that there will be somebody on hand to help maintaining that on the day.
From my memories of Stotfold the pitting area is similar in terms of m^2 but it's a bit of a different shape (tappers away from the track IIRC) where as at Kidderminster it is more or less rectangular. Don't worry folks, we'll all fit. |
Cool, im looking forward to this one.
This is my favourite track in the country  |
Mike, glad to see you have good taste in something ;) ... be good to catch up over the weekend!
|
is there room for the people that pit from the boot of there cars?
or does everyone have to move there cars? |
Any model shop there this weekend ?
|

I will be there sunday with tyres. Pm me if you need any, cheers |
Where taking the shop with us again sat and Sunday.
|
Nobby, there should be room for people to pit form the boot of their cars, might be a bit tighter if everybody wants to set up a huge array of stuff around the cars though.
I probably won't be there early enough to help with car parking but if you mention to the guys that you want to pit from your boot when you arrive I am sure they will direct you to a suitable spot. |

Hi guys wonder if anyone can help could do with borrowing a body shell for a b44.1 and just wondering if anyone can help, just waiting for one to be painted and has not turned up yet
Cheers J |
Jamie, I still have my old BJ4-WE shell you can borrow ... think it fits the B44 tray.

Thats a relief, cheers Mr Yardee. I'm not a strong swimmer so i didn't know if i could make it to the rostrum if it was a long way:woot: I'll have shop stuff with me too (the usual tyres/wheels inserts, spares etc), but i think there is an official shop on site for the day, so give him a fair crack first. |
Any news?
