Ansmann buggy gallery
Havent seen a gallery here so thought I might start one.
Heres mine. Started with a stock Madrat Im sure you are all familar with it but will post a pic anyway, with an ezrun combo + HK controller http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...a/DSC00423.jpg Now I have a Team C TC02/ X-PRO tekin motor HK esc but looking for a better one (as it doesn't really fit, let me know if you have one available) and have a spektrum DX3E TX/RX 35W oil Kyosho yellow springs 3A/3B piston KO PS-2113 from tyreman thanks http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...a/73685111.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...a/DSC00473.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...a/DSC00472.jpg What do you think about the mounting of the esc?? Its the only place I can put it as its too big for the right hand side Im waiting for panther slicks for the car so I can drive it like I stole it at our carpet track at the local I had an extra green original body was going to paint it black but that ran out so it became red. going to have black windows later |
Here's mine
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...c/IMG0033A.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...c/IMG0034A.jpg nothing special, just the old tank of a Master Smacker i used for the Ardent winter series, not expecting to win much with it but my aim is just to not come last. Fitted with 9t /35a ezrun system (was contemplating a 5.5/60a system), basic Futaba S3004 servo & the competition regulation mini-pin tyres on Fastrax rims (the only ones i could get to fit because of the off-set) with blue inserts, running Spektrum DX3S radio gear. The only other changes i made were i fitted an ARE-1 spur gear (2 teeth less) because i stripped the kit one during the 1st run - (tip: don't follow the manual when meshing, put the top deck on before meshing the spur), plus i fitted a Tamiya pinion because the kit one weighs a fair bit & i've also changed the shock oil to Schumacher 30wt & fitted rubber collars inside the dampers on the shock-shaft to limit the travel to help with landing & to stop squat when i nail the throttle. I also tried springs on the rear from the Tamiya kit shocks of my DF-02 buggy. the kit springs really need to be softer as there is a lot of rebound as you land the car off a big jump, but it's just finding ones that will fit. Plus a few changes to what the manual suggested were fitting the steering with pivot balls from the ARE-1 kit which aren't shouldered otherwise if you use the ones from the kit with the shouldered pivots, the steering linkage fouls & limits the travel. will post a pic of the Mad-rat i've recently got when i get round to building it. I also have an Ansmann ARE-1 touring car but i won't bore you with that. ;) |

My 1st X pro with the mad rat bodies (Not new)
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sxeWYpX_f90/TA...s/IMG_7957.JPG The inside with SP GT 1.1and 10.5 SP http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sxeWYpX_f90/TA...2/IMG_7962.JPG I was really with the 1st one so I buy a another but a new one http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sxeWYpX_f90/TP...0/IMG_9568.JPG I haven't picture with electronic instalation. But in putt a robitnic ESC 8.5 and motor 10.5 robitronic too. After i see the kit transformation, so i take my 1st X pro for a lifting :D http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sxeWYpX_f90/TO...0/IMG_3457.JPG I change the motor for 10.5 robitronic an a low profil servo. And in last i buy the X2 TE, so i take the electronic of the 2nd X pro (know for space part) http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sxeWYpX_f90/TS...MG_4917_GF.jpg 1st for X2TE this week end :) |

Thats what I was thinking but it being a hobbyking esc and the fact that I burt a 35A $15 dollar one after 2 runs around the track.
This esc is not much better I think being a 60A $30 one. If I did remove the fan I think the rx and switch connectors might rub but those I can solder in place ( Thats an idea) Ill test it as it is tomorrow at the track and ask a couple others there but would like feedback from others about not needing a fan. Not that I don't trust ya Chris just nice with more input |
What motor were you running on that speedo to blow it? I know very few people who attach a fan to their 2wd speedo as overheating is rarely an issue. If it is then cutting a couple of vent holes in the shell often works - quite common in 4wd cars.

In the photos is what I am pretty much running today. The car was kit standard apart from a slight mod on the back end to get more anti-squat. Electrics wise it has a savox servo, LRP SPX (I usually run a Nosram but I left it in my spare car) LRP X12 6.5(Which is a bit hot for 2wd but it is the only 6.5 I have ) and my trusty two year old team orion 4800s. Only things I have changed since then are I am running 30 degree alloy caster blocks on the front and also a rubebits under servo weight. The X-pro was excellent at the weekend and was the only rear mounted 2wd car in the A final at West bridgford I think. |
Sorry double post..

Big thanks to Mark A for the shell great work |
Madrat
Here is a few pics of my Madrat. Got the kit for Xmas and since then I have done a few upgrades namely
associated alloy shocks ball raced upgraded turnbuckles 17t schaumacher goldrush brushed motor 24tooth pinion front staggered rib yet to fit. Not too keen on the madrat shell so opted for something a bit different... Just finished painting my first ever bodyshell. Its a proline bulldog shell for a b4.1. I know its not everyones cup of tea but I love the shape of it. Had to cut and trim away some shell to get it to fit. Ive ran it at Torch racing club 3 times now and it goes very well considering its a budget buggy. It has stood upto a few crashes but amazingly is still in one peace. Diff is still fine as well:o. Planning to upgrade to brushless soon once I get competent with the track. A fantastic little car and great value for money. a feww pics.... http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...x/DSCF1007.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...x/DSCF1009.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...x/DSCF1008.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...x/DSCF1001.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...x/DSCF1014.jpg |
