This is a huuuuge indoor venue people and so close to Christmas it's bound to be horrible and cold outside so get booking in :)

The Track is going to be designed by the one and only Lee "Pidge" Martin so you can expect good things for this one  (no pressure Lee)

Andy, posting a link is fine mate - http://www.newburyrcclub.co.uk/mkgp.htm

Hope to see a few there - we don't get many proper Off Road indoor races so this should be good!

(tooooooo fast that Goodall guy!)

Lee Martin 30-10-2007 09:42 AM

early track designs are going well.......................

this could be one of the best indoor venues seen for a long time!!!

combo of slippy floor and carpet with hand made wooden kickers...table tops. doubles and even a cross over!!!!!

muahahah

c0sie 30-10-2007 09:58 AM

From a micro racing point of view..that track sounds ace!!!

Lee, just a quickie, are you gonna be running a shortened straight for us wee micro racers?

If you are bored on Sunday you could always pop along to Hereford and watch Craig, Keith, Jimmy and John racing their small cars with the big boys :)

GRIFF55 30-10-2007 09:59 AM

Is there going to be a control tyre for the offroad class? On the site it says 3 min in each class, is this possible??
Cheers

Lee Martin 30-10-2007 10:16 AM

hmmm the micros...had not thought of that.............

ill look into it lol

c0sie 30-10-2007 11:17 AM

Cheers Lee :)

You never know..you may even be tempted to join us at some stage ;)

Lee Martin 30-10-2007 11:19 AM

ha............i have a 18t......

maybe ill have a play with someones with a steer wheel on the day

Hi Andy

He means as in 3 Entries minimum to run each class so if they only get 2 micro stock it won't run for instance :-)

It will be normal 5 Minute runs with qualifying and finals.

I believe Yellow Minipins will be the tyre but Andy Bell (Ginger Fixit) will confirm shortly.

GRIFF55 30-10-2007 12:12 PM

Cheers Nick, i'll try and make it

c0sie 30-10-2007 12:15 PM

Lee,

Gimme a shout on the day..if you race steer wheel you can lay the smack down with my Blaze if you like fella :)

ginger fixit 30-10-2007 12:53 PM

hi guys

at this stage i plan to run 3 rounds qualy round by round best 2 and 3finals should help to build a bit of tention (all depends on entry numbers and time )

you will gain points for tq and qualy position and from each final should make it an excelent meeting

tyres thats up to you i think being indoors tyres is going to be the one thing you can change to make a huge difference

we have a shop on site so tyre will be avalible all day

thanks any qs just ask thanks

p.s entires will be published on newbury club forum there will be a link from the info page For the gp

dan_kitty 30-10-2007 12:56 PM

will try and do this meeting just need to check dates.

so on the entry form where you mark ability, is 1 best, or 10 best?

I assume you cant run 2 classes on the same day?

ta
dan

ginger fixit 30-10-2007 01:15 PM

hi dan

10 is best 1 is pull start class if you get my meaning

and you can book in for 2 classes if you like you may have to get your marshalling covered but thats up to you

thanks hope that helps Andy bell

Lee Martin 30-10-2007 01:16 PM

GRIFF55 30-10-2007 01:24 PM

Gooo Onn, you know you want to:D. Plenty of room for those track ideas in that hall Lee!!

dan_kitty 30-10-2007 01:28 PM

ace, good bit of space there, just hope im allowed to come now!

Nick Goodall 30-10-2007 01:36 PM

Guys it's going to be awesome - Lee and I will be drawing up the track this week on the PC so will upload to get you all interested.

There's plenty of time left but the sooner you book in the better!

The Viewing gallery makes a perfect height rostrum with LOADS of room for practising (Room for at least 20 people practising) imagine the carnage ;-) Depends if it's practise in heat order or just free practise but either way it will work great as a rostrum.

Looking forward to it!

Chris Green 30-10-2007 01:44 PM

That will no doubt be the tyre of choice - I would imagine one set should last all day too - they tend to still work as they wear.

Spikes are good on carpet but don't last long!

ginger fixit 30-10-2007 01:51 PM

entry list now live

Lee Martin 30-10-2007 02:03 PM

will also be alot of slippy flooring!

pins work well and get better with wear! 1 set all day!

c0sie 30-10-2007 02:27 PM

Slippy floor is great :)

Will it be like the indoor 1/10th pics from the oOple Gallery?

ginger fixit 30-10-2007 02:35 PM

mk update

pts can be used pm me if u want yours added

it will be added to the entry form asap

thanks Andy

JCJC 30-10-2007 03:02 PM

Pics from the hall remind me of the Parmiters School "shootouts" Daren Boyle used to run in Watford, 2 days, mix of buggys & tourers, same sort of viewing area used as the rostrum. It was always mini pins on the carpet & areas of polished floor, Jordan will be there with the ZX5 if we can fit the dates in. Should be great. Well done lads, good idea. Mick

c0sie 30-10-2007 04:07 PM

Andy,

Is there a motor limit for 1/10th 4WD?
