Hi Guys
Booking in for this event will close next friday the 4th Still need some more electric guys to keep numbers up and some more rallycross so get booking in. Dont forget we have a midlands regionals in 4wd and 2wd this year so this could be your chance to get, some practice in prior to the event. Points can be found at www.ledburymodelcarclub.moonfruit.com and remember you must have 3 rounds in to qualify for the finals day on 6th March, which will have prizes for end of season. If you havent done 3 rounds dont worry as finals day will also consist of guest finals for those not in the championship |
Ooooh guest finals..thats good news
|
Does that mean the regionals will be on the new big track this year?
|
I won't know till next Friday if I am working or not so will book in if I can be there.
Astro track running would be cool. |

Can I do the finals in March, if I haven't done any of the other rounds? Cheers Mark |
Nath...
As discussed last week please can you book us in for the LAST round on 6th March Lee Panchbhaya - 4WD Callum Panchbhaya - 4WD (Junior U13) Ben Greening - 4WD Rich Griffiths - 4WD Ill have a word with Rich Davis too, see if I can get him along for some pre-season racing :D Can you let us know the decision on which track we are likely to run on for both Regional's, I would say use the big track for 4wd and grass track for 2wd subject to the wether... Oh and don't forget that you need to nominate THREE different Tyre manufacturers to Tom at least a month before the event. :D Cheers Lee |
Schumachers
Ballistics Turf Rippers :-) |
Sorry for slow reply
What i was looking at doing was running the 2wd regionals on the astro and 4wd regionals on the grass. Lets hear you opinions as i know quite a few people still love our grass track. The meeting on sunday is on the astroturf track. Either way one of the regionals will be raced on the astro. Also you can just come for finals day on 6th of march even though you havent done the series. They would be seeded into a guest final though but im sure it will still be great. Dont forget booking in closes friday for this sundays meeting |
Cheers Nathan...can you book me in in advance to the finals meeting in March?
I will put myself down for 2wd on this one, as you mentioned that the 2wd regional will be on the astro (PPLEAASSEE!!!) I will need to get some practice in with my 2wd prior to the regionals coming up this year LOL Will PM you my details. Cheers Mark |
No worries Mark
See you then. But if anyone else wants to race this sunday please come on down. we need more electrics to make the race a little more interesting :) |

schedule for the 6th
Hi Guys.
We are looking to keep the same schedule as the last meeting with pleanty of practice time before the qualifier. So here goes. Booking in from 8.00 to 9.00am Drivers briefing 9.00 to 9.15am Practice 9.30am Qualifying stars for 10.00am Finals lengths will be decided on daylight time left. Jamie. |
Jamie and Nathan,
Just a quick note and request... Please don't do as you did at the last meeting and run the Electrics Final Last. We were made/expected to wait 1 hour 45 minutes till we could race in our Final. This really was not good enough. Out of the 4 of us that came to race, i'm the only one that's happy to come back. But if the same happens again, i wont. Please don't upset people with silly things like that, cause the track is awesome and really easy to get to. Sorry to be a little blunt, but it all helps to make you realise what the racer wants and therefore make a cracking club, track and overall facility. Russ :D |
Well i have to agree with what russ has just wrote, and that has certainly put me off making the trip down.
When coventry run there club meetings with nitro and electric mix the club always put the electric as first finals,as with the nitro extended finals it means the electric guys dont have to stand around waiting and it has also got the electric numbers back up,which i would guess its your aim at ledbury but having a near 2 hour wait for your final is not the way to go in my opinion for what its worth |
Right ok that is fine point taken.
Ive not had alot of experience running meetings so your points are duely noted. So sunday i will put eletrics as the 1st heat on and the first final to go on. Sorry if anyone had been put off by this. You can always come to see me with any ways of improving the club. So points taken on board. Also we plan to finish around 4pm. So probably 3pm for leccy boys |
Guys i will support Nathan and what he has said.
I for one will admit it never crossed my mind the fact that the electrics racers were made to hang around till the end of the meeting. Now it has been mentioned by Russ to be honest it is quite ridiculous to have to wait that long just for a five minute final. I apologise to all the electric racers for not thinking about this scheduling problem and suggesting it be changed. Now that it has been and so obviously wrong IT WILL CHANGE. As Nathan has said the finals can be easily be rearranged so that the electric finals can run first. The race length can also be discussed between the drivers as to how long their batteries will last regarding longer finals. This of course also means that potentially the finals the elcetric drivers marshall will be the shorter of the fianls rather than the A finals which are generally a bit longer. We are open to ideas and also criticism to allow the club to grow and improve so that all drivers who visit and hopefully race will all go away having enjoyed the days racing. Russ I thank you for your comment and really do appreciate what you have said. If you have any other issues that you feel need to be aired please pm me so we the club can work to resolve them. I do hope it's NOT the last time we see you at Ledbury and i'm sorry to hear Jasoncb will not be coming to try the track out. Nathan, Oliver and myself made the 2 hour trek to race on the astro 1/10 scale track at coventry the last weekend gone with our 1/8 scale for the racecentral round 2. 24 second laps and 10 minute finals due to the rostrum capacity and very difficult overtaking. It was a bit tight but we still went even thou we were aware of the issue prior to going. And to be fare we would go again as it was good fun. Jasoncb i hope you reconsider. We are trying. Jamie. |
Thank you for taking the comment on the chin and immediately stepping up and apologising and promising to rectify it.
We don't have to run 1st, just not last... As said, ours are only 5 mins long, whereas we marshalled a 20 min final and then all the others were 20 as well (i think, maybe some lower were 15 Mins). Also a point by Jamie... I said a few times last time on the rostrum to all about running for longer. I think personally it's about time Electric did 6 Mins minimum. Maybe even 7 minutes to be honest. I only run a 4000mah in 2wd, but know i can go for 7 mins no probs. I reckon i could go 10 withough any trouble as well... What you reckon... 10 Minute Final :D :D Maybe Ledbury could Lead the Way !!!! |
Hi guys,
Ive just read thru the thread and fancy a trip down. I still use a retro mardave cobra with brushed elecs and love outdoor tracks ( am i correct you run outdoors?). Do you run every week? its a 2hr trip but would come for outdoor racing Eddie:thumbsup: |
Russ.
If you want to run 10 minutes and everyone who turns up to race can make 10 minutes--- THEN 10 MINUTES YOU WILL GET. But we have to make sure everyone who is racing can agree on the time. Otherwise longer finals may then cause us problems. It's up to you guys to decide and tell us at ledbury what you all agree. We all want as much run time as possible regardless of what we race. If we can agree then lets go for it. Fast Eddie. Yes mate it is outdoor astro. When the days draw out we intend to hold electric meeting on a Wednesday night if you are interested. It may be worth while sorting out some kind of Wednesday calender for people to put their names on so people like yourself don't come a long way to find only one other elctric driver has turned up. We also do spec, check and test days every Saturday from noon onwards so anyone who wants to come and practice can. We also offer a timing loop during the day s so you can see if your spec changes have improved you times. I hope this helps and look forward to possibly seeing you in the future. Jamie. |
Jamie,
Thanks for coming back to me, would you have a hand out transponder or would i need to get one? Bit of a treck for evenings but a days racing is worth it. As regards the 10 mins, I am on nimh so may not make it but if there is only 2 then I will be runner up!!! Hope to see you soon Eddie |
Hi Eddie.
We have hand outs so thats not a problem. As far as 10 minutes goes, it'll be up to the electric racers to decide what time everyone can manage for a final. What configuration of batteries do you use in your car. Could you use a stick lipo or saddle. We may be able to sort some out for you if you decide to come and play:D. Jamie. |
balls up post lol
|
Jamie,
I use stick but dont think the lipo would fit as I have side by side cells. That aside, I will come anyway and see if its possible to mod if someone was kind enough to try and lend me one. If all else fails I dump............... only in it for fun and jumps.... Cheers mate |
Fast Eddie
