Xray electric Buggy?

I heard rumours of a 4WD buggy a long time ago which never materialized - but now I've heard about a 2WD buggy that XRay are planning. Anyone have any information or thoughts on this? Plenty of room in the 2WD market for a GOOD car I think - and Xray surely have the cash to make a good car.

telboy 30-10-2007 01:32 AM

I think its ace. the intrest in the off road scene has exploded recently. Obviously the worlds helped, but thats all over now, and companies are still wanting to get involved more.

It can only be good.

annie_himself 30-10-2007 02:37 AM

I'd love to see Xray race a new class.

Sebastian 30-10-2007 08:04 AM

They will do both a 4WD and a 2WD from what I've heard.

Elliott Hopkins 30-10-2007 09:15 AM

X-Ray are based in the Czech Republic aren't they?

Elliott.

KyoshoK 30-10-2007 11:27 AM

slovakia

i really would like to see a xray 4wd

Lee 30-10-2007 12:11 PM

If they do one they will be quality products and quick in the right hands, but will not suit everybody.

I have had a few onroad xrays and some were stunning, the latter ones not so:)

bbq 30-10-2007 01:33 PM

They said that they aiming to be the biggest rc car brand if i remember it right.
So they have to make 1:10 buggy cars if they want to be big :D

antnee 30-10-2007 04:43 PM

if they do build them, they will be solid! well my T2 is, i've given that hell and only a few bits have broken on it!

DCM 30-10-2007 05:04 PM

all good news, but knowing xray, they will have a new one out every 8 months.....

lol :D

Tom3012 30-10-2007 05:33 PM

LOL 8 months, wont it be 6 months, 2008 edition then a 2008.5 edition, then a 2008.5 worlds edition and so on... thats the thing that annoys me about xray.... dont they have confidence in there released cars that they will be competitive for more than a few months?

DCM 30-10-2007 05:40 PM

they call it 'constant evolution' some call it money making.... it's a marmite thing, you either love it or hate it.

depends if the components are back compatable ( the newer bits fit on the older cars ) if so then its a form of constant evolution if not then its moneymaking

annie_himself 02-11-2007 03:07 AM

I like the new cars then I don't.

The FK'05 and TQ are still great cars I don't see the need to release new ones every few months. The '008 is on the site now!

Robbiejuk 18-11-2007 04:45 PM

My Fk05 is still doing the business and i still don't feel the need to change it. The differences between the t2 and the 007 were minimal and the 008 seems more of the same thing. Personally the way I see it with Xray, if you are going to buy one, wait till the T3 comes out as this will be the more ground breaking next phase rather than just a revised version :). Plus history dictates it will take at least four years for the T4 to come out.

no news on the buggy front but I'd like to see a 12th pancar from them and so would a few others I bet :D

MK999 21-11-2007 01:28 AM

Only problem is if xray do release a 10th buggy it will be quick, and ridiculously expensive :p

jimmy 21-11-2007 02:39 AM

If it's going ahead I'd not expect to see anything for a while - maybe Nurnberg in February? I trust my source :)

antnee 21-11-2007 04:52 PM

The only problem with Xray's is when they go wrong is expensive! eg, a wishbone for my T2 is 7/8quid for ONE!

showtime 21-11-2007 07:54 PM

the spares prices sem to have been a bit cheaper that that for the XB8
i fitted a front wishbone the other week & it had £2.55 on the package :o

Robbiejuk 22-11-2007 05:09 PM

I don't know how much a wishbone costs on my fk05, I have had it three years and haevn't broken one. 7 quid for one seems a bit extreme though.

Mark@Derby 13-01-2008 05:00 PM

price

I dont know where you getting your spares from but there not £7/8 for a wishbone .. more like £3.99 for one and if you think about it AE/schumacher/losi are 7.99ish for two ..
i know this as i sell the stuff ortho i will say the hudy drive shafts are alot at 22.50 for a pair

i would be checking the price you pay for stuff as you could be beeing ripped off

www.mirageracing.co.uk for xray spares prices

Robbiejuk 14-01-2008 12:59 PM

http://www.mirageracing.co.uk/product/XR303161,

So where did you get these 8 pounds wishbones from ant?

antnee 14-01-2008 04:21 PM

dunno, i remember paying a lot for something though, might of been the drive shaft coupling, 4quid for a tiny bit of metal, and you dont even get a grub screw with it!

Thomas P 21-01-2008 03:09 PM

Fun to see..hopfully hey dont do the misstake they did with the New Xray M18 Pro car...they messed up the cuntersunk“s on the cassi..to much, and it led to splitting the chassi...it took Xray month to respond and when they did, it sound it was the machines fault...they couldnt edmitet that hey have done anything wrong...mine M18Pro is that car...

cant wait to see =)

Really? how recent like the t2 007 or even the t2 008, as i was really interested and was even going to buy one but never really had the money and ended buying what i thought and now know is a great car, an mi2ec second hand for £60!

hardrider 29-02-2008 01:09 AM

Any updates? I'm so tempted to get a new 4wd buggy but I'm holding out for an Xray... if it does happen.

jimmy 15-05-2008 12:00 AM

Hmmmmm, I heard some more rumours of electric off road buggies from Xray recently - this time rumour has it there could be 2WD and 4WD buggies in the pipeline.

werner1619 19-05-2008 06:24 PM

what is the time frame to release?

I personally like the quality of x- ray, but patience isn't one of my virtues :(
Any idea if it will be belt or shaft?
:) :(

sqc049 21-05-2008 02:29 PM

Does anyone else think it is interesting that Kinwald recently signed with Xray?

I know he is under contract with X-Factory this season, but what about next?

We all know that dirt is excellent with developing new cars and parts. He would be a great driver to build a US team around! I think it would be something if he left X-Factory next year and went to work for Xray on the development of their 2wd and 4wd buggies.

I know I would buy one!

Any updates on a 2wd and/or 4wd electric buggy from XRAY ??

HOTBODIES are taking their time with the D2 but at least there are photos of it !!

lochness42 10-02-2009 11:52 AM

From what I've talked back in November to Martin Hudy - there aren't any plans on electric buggy - not even 1/8 (well with boom of this category at ToyFair I don't think that this is last state :D). So this year we will not definitely see any 1:10 electric buggy from Xray (probably not even next year). Sorry to say but that's what Martin said to me. Those rumours about Xray electric 1:10 buggy were also here and I really hoped that they'll be true. So I went to Schumacher after these informations.
