ramps
Is there any danger of having some new ramps made for friday nights and the indoor champ?
|
I'm going to take the broken small ramps home after racing next week and repair them in time for Sunday. Only having 2 small ramps for off-road last week was pretty poor to be honest and really limited our track options. We need to keep it interesting to keep people coming back on a club night.
The shed needs clearing before we can fit any more in though. It's completely full now that the MROD and old carpets are in there. And then of course someone needs to volunteer to make them... I'm OK to spend a couple of hours fixing what we have but I just don't have the time to make a load of new ramps now that Lewis is with us. :( |
We should ship a load of clay in and build some bad ass dirt courses. Don't know how the school would react mind :p:thumbsup:.

if we could get some of the flat sheets out of the shed friday night, we could use some dead space and make an off road area, could do with a track design which benefits all users.
also if the off road is too fancy with jumps & mats etc then whomever is left to pack away aint too happy. maybe put off road stuff away as soon as the last off road race has finished ( if possible) maybe pause racing just so we can clear the smaller items out of the way.. |
I agree Dave, there is a lack of help on a friday night for the jumps putting out and away! its seems we start later and later! if everyone helped, it would be so much quicker....

No volunteers to make some more ramps than...? Strange that. |

If i were to make some ramps 2.5 meters wide but hinged the supports so they could store flat would that be ok.

I would offer to help, but I have a few small issues;
I live in a different city I have no transport When I am back in Nottingham, I will be stripping the Ibiza more Also when Im not stipping the Ibiza I should be doing work for something called a degree, I think  |
So I'll take the small ramps home after racing this week to fix them. Any offers of help transferring them from the shed into the car (the Picasso, NOT my S3...) would be much appreciated. Once we get a container installed at the Rugby Club we can shift the MROD into it for outdoor use only and then free-up the space for whatever indoor ramps you guys construct.
Will be looking for container options / prices this week. |
Doc, Im getting a baby S3
|
Well don't f**K it up by sticking gay sparkly wheels and black fablon on it then! Bloody kids.
|

Something would have to be seriously wrong for the back end to come out on this!
|
Ant. Just think of all the cool 10th stuff you could have bought instead of the Audi .
|
Now I know why students are protesting about there fees going up, its because they wont be able to buy or run cars like that...:D
|
Looks good Ant. Got facelift rear lights or pre-facelift? Just don't go sticking fablon on the roof mate.
And get yourself onto A-S.net! |

Chris, students these days have more than one car! I have 1 and a bit, few friends have got 2, one mate has a road car, pick up truck and a race car
Paul, its got some aftermarket ones on, might get my self some S3 lights, so if you would leave your boot unlocked for 20mins it would be appreciated! Going to do the facelift front light conversion too http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3916353_n.jpg |

Dave, you have the chuckle bus!!! Better than any cossie!
Rob, understeer is easier to control |
Didn't stop you going into the wall three times at worksop though did it
Has it got a crack in the bumper? Seems to be something sticking out of the passenger side on the rear one. Looks nice though, I would be leaving it like that. |
Yeah back bumper is buggered, the seller gave me a new one which I dropped off at the body shop en-route home from picking it up, should be ready this weekend.
Plans for this are only subtle things. Changing the wheels as these are f00ked having had a long relationship with kurbs and don't fit very well. Changing the suspension to get some ride comfort back (tired shocks and uprated springs is not a good combo), change the lights front and rear. Then just few other little bits, tidying up the engine bay, few interior touches, bit more power. May go for about 325bhp in the future, but I need a few £1000 for that. |
Ant. This forum is for serious RC talk not gay real cars :p.

Ha ha ha. Looks nice Ant, but Im with grumpy on the sticking bits on it :D
What did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking? Emma is thinking of getting an A3 now, fed up with the fukus of death going the opposite way round bends. Whats ur fuel economy like just out of interest? Do you want to do a mallory track day any time soon? Im still owed one. |
I paid 2125 for it, you can get the normal sports for much cheaper though, quattros = premium prices!
I've done 450miles this week and averaging around 30mpg, mainly doing 70-80 on motorways. People have been known to get 40mpg out of the 1.8T engine, most get around 30-35 though. |
