what servo?

looking for another servo,

want a decent model out there, cant be savox as they dont agree with my nosram pearl for some reason, spare ko pro is fine.

what you suggest? ko pro? where do I buy in the uk? or ace servo?

not sure on other servos as ive only ever used savox. thanks.

Can't fault ko servos for me , I have used them most of my racing life with no problems, I have just bought a futaba can't remember the number off hand but seems good to

paulc 27-12-2010 07:01 PM

+1  and cheaper!!

captainlip 27-12-2010 07:32 PM

my back up is an old ko propo ps-2173fet that is glitch free, thinking of getting a new one of these, what you reckon?

coolcars782 27-12-2010 07:37 PM

What is wrong with your Ko Propo?

captainlip 27-12-2010 07:39 PM

its seen better days, but thinking of selling the savox and buying this old ko propo new.

is the fact the ko is analogue its the reason its not glitching like my savox digital?

RogerM 27-12-2010 08:12 PM

Futaba or Power HD gets my vote

could be that when you have shortend the wire in the servo you have goosed it?

never heard of savox running problems on a specific speedo

bodgit 27-12-2010 08:29 PM

[QUOTE=captainlip;446084]its seen better days,

That quote implies its goosed. Is this the same servo you are selling as new condition.
You may have as Mark says got the internal soldering messed up and untill you fix it should not be selling it.

captainlip 27-12-2010 08:39 PM

the soldering is perfect trust me and took every effort and time to ensure it was, this servo was shortened and used with the gt2 speedo so I know its working fine!!!

 thought as much, but am guessing there's a technical meaning behind the phrase goosing?

captainlip 27-12-2010 09:25 PM

PMSL yes or broken :D

fidspeed 27-12-2010 09:42 PM

probably going off on a slight tangent but in the very early days of digi servos i had a ko digi and struggled with glitching and general problems fitted old analogue ko (with fet lead, pre brushless and lipo days) problem disappered again . I can only deduce that the speedo couldnt deliver enough power through the BEC to supply the more hungry digi servo .I still only have one digital servo now and 8 ko anologues of varying age and i find i hard to tell much difference between any of them

maybe i'm just s**t:D

regards dave

steelie600 27-12-2010 10:24 PM

Do you have a powercap fitted to the esc?? If not it will glitch with the Savox. FIT a cap and all your problems will be solved THERE IS NOTHING UP WITH SAVOX SERVOS. Ive run them since launch and NEVER had any fail!!

captainlip 27-12-2010 10:45 PM

power cap fitted

captainlip 27-12-2010 10:47 PM

power cap fitted  its not the servo glitching its the esc stuttering the throttle but this is because of the servo, analogue servo sorts this for some reason. :bored:

discostu 27-12-2010 11:02 PM

ive said this in your other thread its its probably your layout in your car you did say your rx aerial is running across the top of your esc.

captainlip 27-12-2010 11:20 PM

tried moving everything and also with it all out of the buggy, no different so cant be that. its defo either the esc, (but works fine with an analogue ko ps2173 fet servo) or its the savox servo, but works fine in the speed passion gt2 esc.

lost at to what to do now but buy a decent analogue servo.:bored:

discostu 27-12-2010 11:42 PM

your cheapest option would to bye a servo.

i run savox.

captainlip 27-12-2010 11:47 PM

why would I buy another savox? this one is perfect, never had an issue until the moment I plug it into the pearl.

captainlip 28-12-2010 12:12 AM

i would rather keep this than buy another servo but im out of options.

captainlip 28-12-2010 12:28 AM

sound familiar?

well ive found your fault...... you have a odd ball servo, the one in ur signiture and in your advert title is a different number to the one your selling in the picture, i rekon you have confused the servo, its now so insecure its got a stutter :woot:

captainlip 28-12-2010 03:57 PM

Lmao!

sly 28-12-2010 04:04 PM

42mb
check weather the transmitter has a ultra, high or low respons settings.

captainlip 28-12-2010 04:43 PM

42mb? what page are you looking at? been through the manual loads.

if you move the servo smooth and steady both ways no issues, try flicking it, or when it recenters itself quicky and boom blue light and a twitch of the throttle.

has to be the current dropping out.

be interested to see what you mean by the above post.....ill try anything

sly 28-12-2010 04:46 PM

42 megabyte download.
switch the the respons setting in the transmitter to a lower setting see if that works.

captainlip 28-12-2010 05:01 PM

cant find anything about responce settings.

Whiskers 28-12-2010 05:35 PM

On your transmitter go to system then frame rate and then choose from 11ms(default) for digital and most new analogue servos or 16.5ms for older analogue servos.

captainlip 28-12-2010 05:40 PM

yes thats 11ms

update

i have just noticed on the monitor of the dx3s that the rx voltage reads 6.4v constant no matter what I do, the moment i fiddle with the servo it drops 6.3v 6.1v 5.9v occasionally 5.3v and throttle jumps like mad

has to be that the servo is drawing to much power? why? how? and how can this be fixed?

could it be the wire from the esc to the rx is damaged/soldered incorrect as its a bit tatty?

or is this still needing a power cap that ive ordered already?

i cant think of it been anything else

Whiskers 28-12-2010 05:45 PM

Are you using the power cap?

captainlip 28-12-2010 05:46 PM

ive ordered one that plugs into the rx, that what your on about?

Whiskers 28-12-2010 05:49 PM

Yes because they are made to stop (or reduce) the voltage from dropping when the servo is under load.

captainlip 28-12-2010 05:51 PM

but the servo is not underload, is sat on my knee and im flicking the wheel.

Whiskers 28-12-2010 05:52 PM

It still has to move the gears. That's a load isn't it?
