Who is the stig??
 

does anyone think they know who the stig is? [topgear]
my dad thinks its Stig Blomqvist, famous Swedish Rally driver.
the first stig [the black one] was Perry McCarthy, former F1 driver.
i think it could be Nigel Mansell

i dont have a clue though

I dunno.. but is he is wanted by the CIA, and if set on fire, he would burn for a thousand days.. all i know, hes called the stig!

I know his knees are double jointed so he can kick his own ass! :D

i came across a thread on AutoBlog that had a german clip on and they interviewd the Stig.. didnt watch it as it had loads of crap german stuff before hand but the guys at Autoblog reckoned it was Damon Hill

EDIT* just watched it and its dutch...! and it doesnt sound like Hill to me could have just put a random in stig suit to throw em off the scent

The old Stig was Perry McCarthy, a lot of people think the new one is Ben Collins ;)

But how do you know that is true. I could put a page up saying it's the wife and would you think that is the stig:eh?:

I think there have actually been a few at various points.

A couple of years ago it was Ben Collins, not sure if it is still him or not, i'll have to give my "man that knows" a call!!

I spoke to a guy who works in a unit on the same estate, and he told me exactly that.

Perry Mccarthy was the Stig in black overalls, and he got sacked for something. The Stig in white is Ben Collins and thats a certain (I kept saying "are you sure?" to the guy who told me).

But, when there are some proto cars or high value cars going around the test track, the Stig is quite often the driver sent with the car from the manufacturer rather than the Stig. I can understand that.

Didn't he bring out a book called 'I am the Stig' or something?! :D

Nah, the Stig is a much better driver than Clarkson.

it cant be jeremy coz the stig is short and the stig handled the golf super car whereas jez didnt. how do you know its not the same guy as before jus in diff clothing.

some say his left nipple has the exact outlined shape as the nurburgring, all i know is hes called the stig!!

The Stig is a stick - Blomqvist and Mansell ate all the pies!! However it is, they are definitely not in the frame! (They don't fit in the frame!! :D)

Absolutely cracking book, well recommended as a good read. I didn't end up liking him as a person though.

I believe Perry wanted to do some presenting a la Tiff Needell so the Beeb replaced him with a variety of drivers to make sure that a Stig was always available when they need to do filming.

Which makes you wonder who is the fastest Stig?

From what I gather, the Stig was Perry McCarthy, as said above. When he wrote his book that was out just after the first *new* series, he gave away the fact he was the Stig in his book, and then replaced. This was then reported in one of the "red top" papers and subsequently, Jeremy Clarkson ended up punching the editor - Piers Morgan.

The next Stig was Ben Collins. Dunno if he still is.

i thought the next stig was Ben Collins but it keeps changing. and when a new car is taken round the track, it is done by some1 who knows the car, like some1 is sent with the car to topgear and he puts in the lap

I think that was over the Mirror claiming Clarkson had an affair.

it's definately the same driver each time, and I know it has also been Tim Harvey, couldn't tell you who the latest Stig is though...

i always thought it was Johnny Herbert, shows how much i know!!
