TRF502X carbon parts
Hiya all,
Iīve (again) been doing some carbon stuff. This time for the TRF502X. 3 new parts. ---------------------------------------------- 4 piece LiPo Tray: Yes, they are carbon versions of Tamiyas plastic tray. No surprises here.;) http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...10002640_1.jpg ---------------------------------------------- 3 piece LiPo Tray (with carbon/brass centerpiece): LiPo tray made of 2 mm carbon. Comes with carbon middle piece. Brass middle pieces (3 pieces) can also be purchased. You use the battery post to secure the outer frames. Price for 3 piece carbon tray: 15 euros. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...10003244_1.jpg http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...10003244_2.jpg ---------------------------------------------- LiPo Straps: Wanted to bling the 502X up a bit. Also wanted different design than the 501X straps. These follow the shape of the upper deck. Made of 2 mm carbon. They cost 13 euros/pair. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...10003710_1.jpg http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...10003710_2.jpg |

Iīve updated first post with some info.
Iīve also added some pics of first version of the tray here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_m...04792&id=13377 For some reason I couldīnt add pics in the post. On final version of the tray and straps Iīve made some minor changes. |
Very Nice Fredrik, any idea on price yet please?
|
Thanks!
Yeah, carbon LiPo tray cost 15 euros. Straps 13 euros for 1 pair. Have also made shock towers (front and rear) in both 3.5 and 4 mm carbon. Will be in stock soon. |
Forgot to add pic of new middle piece.
Now easier to add or replace the weights. Also easy to adjust position without having to remove the screws: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/picturefra...10003244_8.jpg |
Pic showing the tray and strap:
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6948819_n.jpg Pic showing the carbon middle piece and the 3 different weights. Slots makes it easy to add or replace weights. Just "slide" them into place without having to remove the screws. Slots also makes it easy to adjust position (rear/back position). http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...3244_8_350.jpg http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...3244_5_350.jpg |
Prices for the TRF502X parts:

Will have quite a few in stock, so there will be no problem to find shock towers for the 502X.;) |
Pm'd re 502 goodies.

This is an alternative to adding all those spacers on the front and rear shock towers to give the shocks a more vertical shock movement.
Shock tower spacers in 2mm carbon. This will allow you to use shorter screws on the shock damper bushings=shorter moment arm=less load on the shock tower and screw... The spacers follow the shape of the bulkhead top/sides and the shape of the shock tower at the bottom. Makes them hard to spot. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...4351_1_350.jpg http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...4351_2_350.jpg http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...4351_3_350.jpg |
This is how the front shock tower/bulkhead looks like with spacer in place:

First batch of weights has arrived.
Think I forgot to write earlier, but they weigh 8, 12 and 16 grams. Looks something like this with 12 grams added: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6524238_n.jpg |
I think it would be a good time to learn how to speak Japanese my good friend. You will move there and I will miss you:cry:. Tamiya is going to kidnap you, I am sure of it.
|
Silly question perhaps, and I havent done any research, but will those weights fit the 511?
|
Thanks Alex. Always giving nice comments.:)
(But I think that Tamiyas designers can do much better than this.) Jan: Not a silly question. They fit the 511 as well. Not as nice as the 502X though. As you probably know you only have one center hole on 511. They actually fit between my 511 lipo trays as well. You canīt use together with long diff cover, but with short diff cover. |

Would you by any chance know if 502 shocktowers are the same as 511 ones? |
As far as i know the 502X towers are different to the 511, is this right Fredrik?
|
Sorry Carno, Johannes is correct...502X shock towers are different.
|
Thanks guys, I was afraid of that as there don't seem to be any 501/511 ones around anymore. :(
|
I have a few 4mm rear shock towers for 501X/511, if you need them?
|
Fredrik, slight thread hi-jack (sorry!) - do you still have diff cover (short) and li-po trays available for the 501X ? Thanks
|
Donīt have any short diff covers for 501X, only long ones.
Made short ones for 511 only. Have lipo trays for both.:) |
Ah, my mistake on the diff cover. Many thanks for the quick answer anyway - I'll email you to continue the discussion (and place an order!) so I don't drag this thread any further off topic
