Ok,here's my test Dave, fitted with a Speed passion 3000kV brushless motor,I haven't finished setting it up properly yet,but on the wee test run I did outside just now,it's going to be quick. The ground is a little frosty just now,but I would say that it performs rather like a 10T brushed motor does in 10th scale. I like it.:lol:

Coooooor! I can remember fitting a 12t double in a Mini Stox years ago - & that was pretty insane!

Here's my [old skool] Mardave image contribution:)

My Marauder (needs cleaning)
http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...09141517_1.jpg

My Cobra with Losi XX gearbox ;)
http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...09171644_1.jpg

Stockmaster parts I brought when I was a collage for a project to make a chassis... unfortunately the chassis although drawn never got made. (parts are now sold)

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...09174645_1.jpg

My 2nd ever R/C car was a Meteor & I have fond memories of both racing it at the local club & bashing it in the street, that car was responsible for about six of my mates all buying them too... so we must have single-handedly kept Mardave in business for a little while:thumbsup:

The Cobra pictured above was my 4th ever r/c car & replaced a TopCat-turned Cougar... it was a car I did well with and I suppose took me to another level of ability.

I'm a great fan of the Mardave brand & its great to see it still going & churning out the simple, strong but effective cars that they have always been renowned for.

Kudos to Oople for giving us a Mardave section :)

What is the diameter of the rear foams so I can work out the mmpr for the motor?

hi sorry for the delay....

rears are tru-d to 48mm at the mo .. i take them down to 46 an then bin them .. i round the inner and outer edge of the tyre with sand paper too... and depending on grip add super glue to outer tyre wall

cheers lee

One of mine from a recent meeting - probably frowned upon by the Mardave purists for being used for Banger Racing - but reasonably modified under the shell to make it handle better and hit harder :thumbsup:

Tyres - Jap Meds and 46's - no fancy additives. G2 motor and 4300 cells. Modified top deck and chassis bracing. As long as it's quick enough to run someone in before they do it to me I'm happy.

shoebox-airbrushing 22-12-2010 04:17 PM

Nuthin wrong with banger racing

so that's

46 = 45.42mmpr
48 = 47.39mmpr

just waiting till Santa's been then there's some 2011 models coming out in January

Well modified from the standard I'm afraid...

Traxxas shocks on the back,Option House Golds on the front, period Parma Cyclone Stock 27 turn motor,
period Futaba Attack R radio gear,HiTech SP1500 ESC,modified rear suspension mount,strut brace,
fully ballraced gear box, home made LWB chassis, home made undertray.

The body and wing is an Associated RC10B3 job nabbed from E-Bay for a fiver due to the fact that
Meteor LWB shells are nigh on unobtainable.

Bear in mind though, this is how it looked two years ago.....

I'll have to pilfer the lad's camera and do some pics of it now.

Well, here it is again after it's last re-build.
It now sits on a Cobra chassis and has a complete Cobra front end on it.

more of a Cobeor than a Meteor now though.

I'd like to change the wheels(some CML/JC Racing 5 spokes) and I need to get my mitts on 3mm L/H
and 3mm R/H die nuts to make my own turnbuckles for it.
I spied a sheet of aluminium at work just before we broke up for the
holidays,so I reckon next up will be a set of ally suspension mounts ;)
