Friday 10th - Vintage Racing!

Round 2 of the vintage series this week, hopefully we'll see Gaz's new Traxxas plus Bill's Lazer (assuming I can get it working!)

I'll be there with an RC10, who else is joining in the vintage fun?

If you don't have an old car then just come and run your modern ones, all the usual classes will be running too. :)

And last reminder that memberships are due! If you are planning on joining the BRCA and the club then to make sure you get your membership back before the new year you have to join this week!

Dyna 06-12-2010 09:47 PM

My work schedules changed again so at this moment im back in...

I havent got time to prep another vintage car though so it will be the Top Force again, but im lending Mike an Astute to run next round so there will be one more vintage racer soon in the series :)

Belsten 07-12-2010 09:26 AM

peetbee 07-12-2010 03:11 PM

I doubt it, but Shirley that's all part of the fun!

Dyna 07-12-2010 03:24 PM

Dont call him Shirley !!!

peetbee 07-12-2010 04:08 PM

It's a large building with patients in it. But that's not important right now!

evilbert 07-12-2010 04:30 PM

Dyna 07-12-2010 09:20 PM

Great topic'd thread !

Vintage racing, vintage comedy, vintage Scirocco and a vintage racer in Pops... :woot:

peetbee 08-12-2010 12:11 AM

He's not the only vintage racer on this thread:woot:

Can you fly this plane, and land it?
Surely you can't be serious.
I am serious... and don't call me Shirley.
He was ace in police sqad too. At least he made some great stuff before he died.

blue_pinky 08-12-2010 09:36 AM

Police squad...now that's vintage class!

Frank: "Is there a ransom note?"
Ed: "Yes, the butler found it; it was tied to this window and thrown into the rock garden. I sent the note to the lab; they're demanding one million dollars."
Frank: "Why would the lab demand a million dollars?"

Well, rebuilt steering last night, added servo posts as 20 year old servo tape had given up and replaced the servo horn.
Also used countersunk screws on the chassis in place of the normal ones!!
The battery posts have been raised so that the lipos will fit too.

Tonight's jobs are to tighten the front diff & try the electrics out:woot:

evilbert 09-12-2010 01:17 PM

jees, you have way too much enthusiasm for these old things :) fingers crossed for the 20 year old electrics ;)

Caine 09-12-2010 05:11 PM

I'll be there with my RC10, i managed to breath life into her! just gotta trim the shell up and find a wing.
Be great to see that lazer going, sounds like you've been on a major mission pete!

peetbee 09-12-2010 11:09 PM

Excellent Phil, look forward to seeing it.

Bill, bad news I'm afraid........

It appears that a 20 year old Acoms ET5 speedo doesn't have a lipo cutoff!! :wtf::o

It's alive!:woot:

All ready to run for you.
I'm not promising it'll be fast, but hey, it'll be a giggle

evilbert 10-12-2010 01:11 PM

Pete you are a leg end :) although i have some bad news for you... i may not be racing tonight... I have been putting in some very very long hours at work this week and when i mentioned to the missus " i know we haven't seen each other at all this week but tonight instead of spending time with you i want to racing", well lets just say it didn't exactly make her happy....

Bring the lazer down and the rotor and hopefully i will see you all later :)

That's the plan. Although the TRX-3 is exactly as the pics without any electrics at the moment. Feeling a bit delicate from last night's christmas do and just about to leave for another. Hoping to get it sorted later!

Trouble is I've sold my sticks so have to run a brand new TRX-3 with the pighanded steerwheel! The Traxxas may be up For Sale as spares or repair tomorrow...

Noooooo! I even fitted a transponder :)
I understand, hopefully see you there. Were you still after a B44 shell as well?

I'm sure that you'll be fine Gaz, although a small part of me is hoping that this could mean I won't lose too many points to you!

JACKOR33 10-12-2010 03:43 PM

Looking forward to racing tonight as my firedragon is finally rebuilt with new gears and fully ballraced as i didnt think either would last long with a 10.5 and lipo power
Still gonna bring the zx5 incase the old dragon breaks lol:woot:

peetbee 10-12-2010 04:01 PM

Ace:thumbsup:

This should be a good evening as Brian is hoping to run his ProCat!

Dyna 10-12-2010 04:24 PM

Errrrr on a completely different note, is there a working microwave in the kitchen at club ? Never bothered to find out before but ive got a couple of cheese & bacon pastries for tea and wondering if i should eat them at work beforehand or at club later....

blue_pinky 10-12-2010 05:12 PM

Don't think so! There's an oven...but the last time I saw anyone turn it on it blew a fuse and tripped all our chargers off!!

Belsten 11-12-2010 12:22 AM

great track and evening again

Caine 11-12-2010 12:37 AM

peetbee 11-12-2010 01:08 AM
