Hey Chris,
Well done on doing so well on your 1st time out with the X-pro
3rd in the B-final?

I,ll be there for the next round aswell...save me a seat :)
Hope to be doing 4wd next time out.
Nick

Mad-Wolfie 01-12-2010 11:54 PM

i raced a Master Smacker :D

Chris_Clark 02-12-2010 02:51 PM

Hi Nick

Thanks budy, Xpro s a good car in my opinion which helped!! lol

Should be down on the Saterday for next round to make sure the cars are really dialled in, should have mid motor version 2wd too as they are coming in at Ansmann early next week! Although Il prob have rear motor and mid motor and decide off track design as to which is faster haha

If any other Ansmann drivers want to come on Sat we can work together to get most out of the cars

Go Ansmann Racing lol

Chris

Hi Chris, sounds like a good idea, always good to get other peoples set up advice, makes sense to get us all together and get the cars working as best as they can, hopefully see you at the next round.

Mad-Wolfie 02-12-2010 06:04 PM

for the next round i probably can't make the Saturday due to other commitments, but i'd be happy to pit with you guys (if you'd have me with my £60 basher) i'll do my best to be there though if only for a few hours to try the track & work on a set-up.

I'm currently contemplating getting shut of the Smacker & getting a better car (but still in the Ansmann brand because i can get the bits easily from the local shops) but you know it's December so financing Christmas has to come 1st so i may keep it for a while yet.

woOdy 03-12-2010 09:43 AM

When is the next round? Might be able to come down and join in with you guys. Just wait untill the flags and gazeebo's come and you will all want to pit together. LOL

Chris_Clark 04-12-2010 05:02 PM

Hi Woody

next round is the 19th of December, would be good if you came down, the more Ansmann cars doing better on track the better!!

Are you running the X pro/Xcpro in 2wd or do you just do 4wd?

Chris

Battle_axe 05-12-2010 02:11 AM

I will be there Chris save me a spot :)
well done again with your cars exerlent drive from you
Carl

Dam, I have another race in my area at Chadderton on that Sunday. Maybe after Xmas then. When are the next rounds?

I race both classes for Ansmann and I am having the TE this week and hopefully the C next week.

woOdy 14-12-2010 11:43 AM

Just to let you all know I have booked in and hopefully the snow will hold off.
If you all want to pit together then please save a spot for me and a friend who races AR also.

Results from the people I think/know were racing Ansmanns

Chris Clark:
4wd Quali'd 2nd in B and finished 3rd
2wd Quali'd 10th in A and finished 9th

Stu Wood:
2wd Quali'd 5th in C and finished 10th (DNS)

Eric Wilcock:
2wd Quali'd 9th in C and finished 9th (Mid motor)

Me (Lee Carr)
2wd Quali'd 7th in C and finished 8th (std X-Pro)

1st time out with the car for me, really pleased with it, seeing as it was set to kit :D

All results can be found here: http://www.ardentracing.com/raceway/...es%20Round%203

woOdy 20-12-2010 11:15 AM

Yes, had a very bad day. Finished 1 race including practice. Finished 5th in round in round 3. Finished last in the first round and around that for the rest.
I am experiencing speedo problems right now and I can not find what is causing it.
I am well impressed with Ardent and will be coming again to the next round and hopefully be able to finish more than 1 round.

Mad-Wolfie 20-12-2010 11:29 AM

I was not happy, i couldn't play with you guys because i broke the Master Smacker's wishbone in practice on Saturday afternoon.

Obviously the cold at Ardent made the plastics more brittle & of course when the car breaks late Saturday afternoon it's a bit hard to get spares for in time for Sunday morning & trackside shops don't stock many bits for them.

time to invest in a Mad-rat i think

I had similar problems but with DNF's set a time in round 1, round 2 there was a pile up by the wall of death so stopped then got flipped over, Then someone hit a rear wheel which broke my rear pin holder... Got a alloy one fitted now (cheers Eric), round 3 improved my time slighty, round 4 do or die time was goin well till I landed on a front wheel which snapped my top link out of the 'C' hub, race over :-(

Looking forward to racing the buggy again, just ordered a mad rat so i have plenty of spares (if needed) need to obtain some springs now (will AE ones fit ok)??

kaylon 20-12-2010 09:43 PM

When's the next round?... I really really would love to have a drive..I suck but have lots of enthusiasm :)

I Have just replaced my busted X-pro green shocks with some big bore Traxxas shocks (very nice) and I'm about to go Brushless...was hoping to try the car out at Ardent now that I'm only a couple of hours away :D

Hint - get longer ball studs to put through the C hub with a nut on the other side should prevent that happening again.

AE sort of fit, Kyosho fit better but there are 3 spring rates for these cars apart from the kit one's, they're actually ok and better than the kit black. I run purple (soft) all round on mine and red (med) occasionally.

Thanks for the hint, I'll try that out

I ran Kyosho springs on mine on Sunday Light green on the front and Silver (think they are Kyosho ones??) on the rear.

Bought some stagger ribs for the front, (a lot of drivers seem to be running these on Sunday!!) these have been fitted to some cut down Kyosho wheels and ready for next round, also want to get the Ansmann wing set (anyone know the part number please) to try and get the rear more planted :)

kaylon 21-12-2010 04:58 PM

I use this wing...it's a sturdy thing, need to make some new fitting holes but it's a very nice wind.

Smacker Wing

I love the added protection it gives :)

Anyone(Chris clarke/woody) got any decent setups for the X4-Pro @ Ardent?
I,m slowly prepping mine for the petit race.
Are there any other Ansmann drivers going?
