Looking good - especially the CF

ConceptRacing 22-11-2010 09:25 PM

Can't wait to see how it runs, first outing for the car will be Sunday at Ardent

wes j. 22-11-2010 09:54 PM

Don't know if you were at the first round at Ardent but worn mini pins seemed to be the way forward ( i see yours look nice and new). I took my car with a new set of pins and found it tried to grip roll everywhere. In the end kept the new pins on the back and used staggerd ribs on the front. Your car looks very nice .

budgio 22-11-2010 10:32 PM

Nice
I,m really liking the look of that & hopefully mine will be ready for Ardent on Sunday.

jayst 22-11-2010 10:48 PM

cheers for the advice . i may get a set ribs ready aswell then .
i'll get some more pics up when its finished

MHeadling 22-11-2010 11:00 PM

That looks ace! So what do you need to build up one of these ?

A Mad rat kit and the conversion kit? Does this come from Team C?

Are the blue turnbuckles STD or are they AE ones?

jayst 22-11-2010 11:13 PM

mad rat
teamc conversion
bearings

i used tamiya turnbuckles
rpm long rod ends
hotbodies ballstuds

goin to put losi or tamiya shocks on it

Robbiejuk 22-11-2010 11:19 PM

Are those the 1 degree rear blocks or the standard 0 degree alloy blocks at the back?

I don't think I can wait any longer. Might have to order one from abroad.. Come on ansmann hurry up

jayst 22-11-2010 11:25 PM

standard alloy rear blocks rob

Robbiejuk 22-11-2010 11:40 PM

Cool looks like it has the same amount of toe in as the x-pro. Hard to tell without the shocks on though.

I am really looking forward to getting my hands on one of these but my x-pro was going really well on sunday so it will be interesting to see how much a difference it makes.

Saying that though I think I was the only rear mounted car in the a final, maybe it's time to go back to mid motored.

How well did it build Jay? Any Dremel work needed?

racingdwarf 22-11-2010 11:50 PM

Ok, so I'm a bit lost between threds now:blush:. Are they going to make the mid madrat as a kit or are you having to buy the car, then the convertion kit??? As I like the look of this:wub

It's available in a full kit or a conversion, it has been for a few weeks, the distributors and re branders don't have it yet. I'm not sure what the ETA is on those. But it's available direct from Team C

ben44 23-11-2010 09:11 AM

Very nice, i receid my conversion too.
I will start maybe to night.

millzy 23-11-2010 01:42 PM

Yep, just got a text saying my conversion has arrived.

shall build it up tonight - not sure if I will race it this weekend, what are people doing about spares for the mid car? Giving that some of the rear is different from the mad rat/x pro??

Rear end seems very strong. I doubt the rear arm brace will break as its bigger than the X-Pro one. I would get some spare idler gear since there is twice the chances to strip one now.

It looks like there is more rear toe in :)

wes j. 23-11-2010 03:18 PM

I think it's just the way the camera is making it look. If you look at the front wheels they look towed out .

ConceptRacing 23-11-2010 04:29 PM

It was only started at about 4pm yesterday, the car will need to be set up as its just thrown together to get it built, just ran mine outside to check every thing out, so far it runs fine but havent really added any weight to it yet, but im sure it will be as good as the normal Rat.

millzy 24-11-2010 09:32 AM

Well i must say im really happy with the way the kit went togeather.

not issues and every thing is well made and finished

didnt realise the chassis was narrow.

write up and build to follow

millzy 24-11-2010 02:13 PM

Team C now have all the part listed now

so getting spares when ordering the kit would be a good idea

mikerobinson83 24-11-2010 04:47 PM

so how much does the whole kit cost? as i was going to buy a mad rat then convert.

cant seem to find any prices on the net

budgio 24-11-2010 05:51 PM

The Conversion is under £50 add a madrat £50 and bearings £10
Not a lot really :)

mikerobinson83 24-11-2010 06:40 PM

thats well cheep, however buying the kit has to be cheaper than the conversion

ben44 24-11-2010 07:54 PM

Hello people,

Where can i get the conversion from and any idea how much and how long it took to arrive, also what spares would you suggest to purchase.

Andyp 24-11-2010 08:58 PM

Conversion

I got my conversion from tcmodels.net all the prices are on there, I ordered on the Sunday and it arrived the monday a week later ! I'm not sure about spares but maybe the rear shock tower and the rear hingepin holder.

spindles69 24-11-2010 09:19 PM

Cheers andy,

I will have a look now.
I converted the boys rb5 to mid and it impresed me a lot but i can't bring myself to mid my rb5 but have the xpro so if the price is right then i'll be converting the xpro.
Also the gearbox andy is it 4 gear or idler mod cheers.

racingdwarf 24-11-2010 11:14 PM

Think uk importer/ ansmann need to get their arse into gear and get these into the uk, or by the time they do everyone will have bought one from over the water, we are trying to support our LHS's are we not:confused::yawn:

Is there even any word on when we will be getting them, or is it another "Not in the uk importer"? and all the suff comes from europe

Tom3012 25-11-2010 01:53 AM

Works out about £50 posted from HK, and yes its a 4 gear box, note the extra idler gear in the pics ;)

You'll need a decent set of shocks though as the madrat ones are pants... So an xpro that comes with bearings, decent shocks and titanium turnbuckles for £80 is a good price, then £50 for the conversion, £130 job done... Plus you could sell the xpro shell for £10 (they're £20 in the shops)... Makes it a steal at £120...

ben44 25-11-2010 10:08 AM

with oil, spring did you putt in your damper.
I will do a test on a carpet and gym floor.

I've thinks tu putt oil 30 and stock spring to start?

xpro for £80, i thought je spares stopped selling at that price, cheapest xpro on ebay was £99 when i last looked and that pushes the price with the conversion ever closer to the "established" brands

tc models are listing the tc02c for $10 more than the standard tc02 in £s it works out to around the £110 i think, which is a good price but the cost of postage and the import tax will push the price up again.

any signs of a uk importer??????????

my lhs sells ansmann cars so i may ask how much he could get one for,but unless there is a few coming into the uk then the price will remain high

racingdwarf 25-11-2010 12:36 PM

as far as I can tell from my LHS no one even knows about it:confused:.

Timee80 25-11-2010 12:41 PM

Spoke to pat this morning from mcr in chesterfield. He said he had an email from ansmann this morning saying its about 200 quid.

mikerobinson83 25-11-2010 12:52 PM

£200 thats semms over priced compaired to over seas,

anyone know of a hk based shop selling the tc02c?
where is tc models based?

Can't be thats 20 quid more than fully hopped up team editon Xpro as per this thread:

http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56435

I still reckon the kit will the £150.00 mark.

racingdwarf 25-11-2010 01:05 PM

If it's 200 quid in the uk may as well not bother importing as most will buy from over the water:eh?: and people would rather spend extra £50-£70 on cougar etc with big bore shocks etc, just have to wait and see i guess:cry:

mikerobinson83 25-11-2010 01:07 PM

went through the ordering process(up to adding card details) at tc models and the kit worked out at £107.49 thats with ally shocks and clear body so almost converted xpro spec.plus what ever postage tc models will charge for uk delivery (may try and haggle some free/discount shipping out of them) anyone know what tc models postage prices are like?

Hi mate the easiest way to get one from HK would be to go to this forum

http://www.rctech.net/forum/rcmart-c...arketplace-79/

and send a message the Dennis "rcmart" from rcmart, he's in HK and will go out of his way to order what you want direct from Team C. If it's more than $120 USD I'd be very surprised, he's shop price for the rear motor TC02 is 99 USD. Normally you would want to support Ansmann in the UK but if they are talking 200 pounds for a kit that costs the same wholesale as the rear motor, then probably it's better to getting it a bit more direct. Not sure if Dennis will do the same deal for everyone but my TC04 was around 150 USD, total bargain I thought.

P.S tcmodels is in Hong Kong, it's the factory outlet (at full recommended retail prices) of Team C, still pretty good deals but the big hobby shops in HK will do them cheaper
