New Novak motors

Hoorah, these are now unvailed. I've had a couple a while and they are proper good. Basically they are really smooth, almost exactly like a brushed motor. I still run the 6.5L nearly all of the time in my 2wd but find that the 5.5L is much more drivable in a 2wd where as any normal 5.5 is just plain bonkers.

I also like the blue :)

Any idea on them getting into the shops?

The blue would go well in my BJ4 and it might be kinder to the tires (and gears :rolleyes:) than the 5.5R was at Batley ey' Dan?! :D

Dan do these motors still have enough punch for 4wd? i saw these on a us site the other day and tought they looked good. I have already got the novak velocity motors with the sintered rotos and ribbed can. They are very smooth my only complaint is the purple sleeve it dosent go to good with all the blue bits on my S4 and B4 problem now solved thanks novak:D

is that 13mm rotor usefull for offroad ?

These aren't exactly slow, but they are really smooth I think better for 2wd buggy all round!

I would imagine it would work just fine in a 4wd. I imagine on a slippery floor or say a wet track it would give much better power delivery and on a high grip track just be that less violent on acceleration ;)

In 2wd or 4wd, they just have more feeling to them all together, less aggression, less suprises. Oh and considerably lighter (20g) so there is that too.

That's something I have absolutley no idea about, sorry.

Trying getting your shop of choice to ask (hassle) CML, or contact CML yourself I guess.

Update. *News flash*
Popular UK model shops have the L-range motors in stock :D and CML have a good supply of them so no issue in getting them.

Im expecting these to be VERY popular, I can't stress how good they are.

So.... who has one already, let us know what you think.

i was running a 6.5 in my bj4 at batley chris and liked it alot im gonna get a 5.5 to run in my 4wd and fit the 6.5 in my x6

Like Rich say, yes no problem.. All Novak motors will work with any other brand of sensorred speedcontrol.

I want to try a 5.5L for 2wd as the 6.5R has too much torque and not enough top speed for me in 2wd. I think Chris runs 5.5L in 2wd and Dan 6.5L?

I was running a 6.5L but have now upped it to the 5.5L and it's just about perfect!

I knew Chris was man enough for the 5.5 but wasn't sure about you :p

Ha ha, and your correct too. 5.5L in 2wd, everywhere, the throttle curve is smooooooth with a top speed to match the 5.5R - so driveability is awesome.

Here is the Homoligation List. The L-series is part of the Velocity brushless Novak motor range....

Never mind all this new stuff, get a 1994 Corally 15 x 2 in!

It states purple sleeve for the Novaks .... would be a real pain to get turned away for having the wrong colour sleeve!!!

If CML are sending a hologation sample in I'm sure that will be listed for next year so no issues.

could be a stupid question?:confused: but how do you connect the sensor cable to a novak BL motor??? is the connector block behind the motor cover??? I will be using an LRP sphere TC spec:D

The sensor lead is built in, its hard wired to the motor with a connector on the speedo end.

use the novak one to the LRP esc socket.
