Search for a SE 'Perm' 1/10th Off Road Venue: Completed!

I think we have a site for PERM track on the Farnham / Aldershot borders :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:.

I'm going to look tomorrow afternoon and take a full measure of the area and make a detailed site map. I think the track foot print could be around 20m x 80m + parking etc.

Luckily I know the site owner and he is happy to agree to either a fee per attendee or a monthly set fee. The site is great for travel and covered by CCTV and 12ft fencing. Good news is that this commerical site already has planning for a social/neighbourhood activity :woot:.

It has facilities for mains electric, water and plenty of hard standing for carpark.

I'll report back tomorrow - needless to say I'm rather excited by all this! :D

showtime 17-11-2010 07:19 PM

sounds great :woot:

any update? :)

Dudders 17-11-2010 09:42 PM

Yup

1st proper meeting ok.... took measurements. Writing up what I'd require in the next few days then meeting again on site on Monday AM :D.

Hardstanding for track is about 18m x 60m and 3 or four times that for pits/parking.

Dudders 19-01-2011 10:32 AM

Hi All,

Developements on the track site -

Went to a council meeting yesterday and its a no go. The industrial land has a covenant that part of it must be used for 'sport and social' needs.

Council do not deem racing/club as a sport but a hobby. I guess fair play but still disapointing .

Not to be outdone, I'm back on the hunt :D

Hog 19-01-2011 12:14 PM

I would refer the council to the RACMSA (RAC Motor Sports Association) who recognise the BRCA and hence RC car racing as a legitimate branch of Motor Sport, not a hobby.

Dr_UpGrade 19-01-2011 12:17 PM

Also is it not a 'social' need too? i.e. part of society will use this facility?

Dudders 19-01-2011 12:23 PM

Thanks Hog, Will get back in touch.

Dr, Yes, but the council would prefer a Tennis Court or Basketball Court on the site for the companies staff...... even though it will be redundant by use.

Dr_UpGrade 19-01-2011 12:28 PM

Must admit I don't know 'how' big, or how much room a tennis court can take up, but could there be room for both? - If they could get someone to actually put forward a plan for a tennis court too?

Dudders 19-01-2011 12:32 PM

The council have already agreed a court, for tennis, basket ball, netball, 5 a side etc etc..... BUT they do not see the issue that it will never get used.

Which is why we went down the RC Track route....

Its historical on the site that part remains social / sport related, as well as 'business trade'.

Dr_UpGrade 19-01-2011 12:47 PM

Ah sorry Neil, if yer having to go back over old ground in explaining this (to me)! bit of a bummer re the short-sighted council...

Dudders 03-03-2011 03:25 PM

.....another meeting in 30 mins for a possible venue :thumbsup:

Why do I get so excited????:lol:

MK Racing 03-03-2011 05:01 PM
