410 Big Bores

These seem nice! I was wondering how long it would be till team Durango had some of these coming out.

When and how much Mr Skelding?!

Stretch 31-10-2010 10:25 PM

Based on the pic, looks like they leak... :)

Durango 01-11-2010 11:14 AM

Probably from the DNX408...

Adam Skelding 01-11-2010 11:53 AM

They aren't from the DNX408, they are prototype Big Bores for the DEX410..

As for leaking... They don't, it might help next time if Mr Crabb asks before photoing.... We'd been messing about changing oil, so I'm not sure when he took the photos, but rest assured they don't leak.

When - When we've tested them and found them to be a worthwhile addition to the Durango range.

:D

What are the advantages of BIGbore shocks ? Or is it just the in fashion thing to do ? If there are advantages are there only disadvantages ?

Better over bumpy track conditions. Disadvantages are that they can be slightly slower to respond

dlewis4 04-11-2010 04:38 AM

I will buy some... they look sick. I bet they work even better.

sime46 04-11-2010 07:53 AM

Currently my car can be a little twitchy over bumps so these are great news. Big bores on the cat transformed it so these will be awesome. As always the waiting game begins. Lol

schmacher 05-11-2010 06:24 AM

the adjusting ring better be orange like the originals

simoncrabb 05-11-2010 08:23 AM

I knew I'd get in trouble for that photo!

Holeshot 13-12-2010 08:59 AM

They would be a top seller.

Big Bores

Until we are graced with TD big bores, does anyone have any experience with the Tresrey 410 shocks??? I translated their website and found them to look really nice (and pricey!)...

Any and all input is appreciated!

Richard

Any news on the big bores yet??

Big bores

Oh just Great more Springs for the Pit Box.

I take it that the standard spring will not fit these big bores, will they be sold as singles as the current springs are at pressent:thumbsup:, or do we have to buy a whole set for front and back.

will be a nice udgrade for the summer, look forward to seeing how they work outdoors.

mikeyscott 10-01-2011 05:27 PM

I reckon it'll be around £80 for the set, judging by market rates. Look forward to seeing them though, maybe at Petit?

Have a look at Nathan Waters car ;)

wylie 10-01-2011 08:12 PM

I'm guesing by the look that these will be the same as the stock one just larger, is there a reason why 1/10th cars seem to use emulsion style shocks and 1/8th all seem to have a bladder? as i hate the fact you can not get the air out of the shock.

your kidding your self if you think you can build em to work with no air in, google emulsification, they have to have air in to work as the air is the replacement for the "diahram" on non emuslifying shocks

Would a tappered piston help with the disadvantages ?

any 'disadvantage' can be dialled out with bigger hole pistons and/or thinner oil.

you can get bigbores working in every situation that you can get 'normal' shocks working, it just gives the wider spectrum of setup options to help it land the big jumps or hit the big bumps if you want it to.

mikeyscott 11-01-2011 10:41 AM

When are they due to be released or formally announced?

You attending with the Team to Petit? shame you're not racing

Chris Doughty 11-01-2011 10:48 AM

I don't have any details, right now I'm just a regular racer for Durango, I don't start work there until the 24th, im still working my notice period at my old work :(

I might try and make it along to one of the days at Petit, get a feel for the 10th scale scene again, its resonably local to me.

/tobys 18-01-2011 10:17 AM

The Petit race report (http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/petit2011/index.html) suggests these will be out in a few weeks...

Wonder if they'll be in either of the DEX410 kits?

ttboyy2k 18-01-2011 07:32 PM

Can anyone tell me the pound rates of all the big bore springs offered please?

VikNor 01-05-2011 09:54 PM
