Just like to say thank you to all 18 drivers who raced last night, helping to put the track out and putting it away after another good nights racing.

The carpet was extended by 6mts and the track opened out to allow the buggies more room, this made a big difference to the flow of the track.

We also had a couple of new faces who came down for a look and I think they will be popping down to Radio Racers to have a word with Shaun.

Ben has taken a few pictures that he will put up over the weekend.

All I have to do is get the printer to work all night!!

See you Next Friday

Peter

Good pics Ben, Thanks

singin pete 13-11-2010 08:21 PM

Another good night on Friday.

We had 21 racers, 2 heats of buggies and a full heat of Mardaves.

I think all the lads had a good nights racing.

Next week I'm thinking of splitting the buggies into 2 and 4 wheel drive instead of just on ability, what do you think?

If you think od anything the club could do to improve the racing just post on here and we will look into it.

Cheers

Peter

What a good way to end the year, 24 racers, 4 finals and still new faces turning up every week.

Just like to say a big thank you to all the lads who helped with the track.

The quicker we get the track up the more time we have racing, that's why we could run 4 finals.

The club wishes all racers a very good Christmas and hope Santa brings you all new toys to play with.

Next meeting 7th Jan 2011

Peter

Yes thats no problem Peter, if you have some flyers or anything we will give them out at the shop too

Jnunu1 12-12-2010 03:05 PM

what do you use...

Hi

What does the club use to lay out the track - i cant quite make it out on the pics/vid.

Thanks

singin pete 12-12-2010 08:10 PM

We use the best carpet you can get. 5 rolls of 2mts x 30mts long.
The track is made from square drain pipe with flexible plastic corners than are very forgiving. The jumps could be a bit better, we will look at them in the new year.

Any other questions just ask.

Peter

Jnunu1 14-12-2010 08:14 AM

singin pete 18-01-2011 10:53 PM

Your more than welcome Michael.

We had 32 racers last week, 13 Mardaves and 19 Buggies so if we have the same this Friday we will be running 4 heats which will give you a bit more time between races.

Pete just to say last Friday was really enjoyable. Very relaxed and friendly. I'll definitely be doing as many Friday's as possible in the future.
Unfortunately work commitments make it difficult to attend for the next three/four weeks, then hopefully I’ll be back on track.

Hi there,

Just sorting out corners for our track at Roundabout Raceway and was hoping you could give me a bit of help. I've just got the square downpipe, and liked the style of corners you run (looks better than the idea I had).

So 2 questions for now...

1/ Where is the corner plastic from (or what is it supposed to be)? I can see it's plastic strip but where do you get it from?

2/ I was going to join the straight pieces with a block of wood, but on your pics it looks like there's a bolt as well. Is there a hole in the wooden joiner and you just drop the bolt in like a lynch (sp?) pin? Or is it actually bolted?

Thanks for any help,

Dave
Roundabout Raceway

ericd2477 28-01-2011 03:08 PM

Hi Dave, you are right about the joints we just drop a coach bolt into a pre drilled hole.

The plastic is a bit more problematic in that we get it through someone at the BRCA in a sheet then you have to cut it up. Its a long time since we got any but if you contact anyone on the BRCA committee I am sure they will help. It is good stuff and we get only rare breakages.

Gibbon666 28-01-2011 04:46 PM

Thanks for the info.

Think I'm going to be doing quite a bit of work on these barriers on Monday :eh?:

Might try splitting one pipe and using that as corners for now until I speak to the BRCA.

Thanks again for the help,

Dave

Record Numbers at RVRCCC

:thumbsup:There were 57 racers at RVRCCC last Friday and I think our race controler Peter did a fantastic job and Barbara too booking in racers.

You usually only get these numbers at weekend meets when you have plenty of time to book racers in so if Peter and Barbara looked harrassed at times dont be surprised.

I would like to thank all the racers who came because its you who make the event.

Eric
Chairman
