Maritime Racing We Want You

Calling all of south east off-road racers due to the good news of Maritime Raceway not losing its venue, we are considering opening an off road racing club to be run on a Tuesday night with practice days on Some Saturdays. it will be run in the next room at Maritime Raceway and will be a permenent track.

I will give details on track size ASAP and other detail as and when they are ready

Reason for this post, we are trying to find out if it is worth actually opening and running a club:blush:, so please can you post your intrest and if you would attend

all comments are welcome:thumbsup:

Thank you

going by the turnouts at EPR i'd say you have plenty of people down that side of london to get you going.

Personally its a bit far for me for a Tuesday night, but i'd probably try and attend any saturday and sunday events :)

MattADH 12-10-2010 04:59 PM

Let me know if you need any help with anything. The flooring thats there should be ideal as a basis and then perhaps different materials can be used for more or less grip if you choose.

Will you be using some of the features used at the Petit race?

Belsten 12-10-2010 05:06 PM

I would be interested in attending some saturdays

I think this is great news and a great idea!!!!
I so crave some midweek racing and Saturday practise!!!!
No offence meant to the FORCC club, but I don't get on with the surface and changing between stock motors and modified would do my head in, have you seen me work on my cars :blush:
I am sure it will take a bit to build a driver base, but to have another club in the South East to go and race at is a dream come true.
So come on you lot show your interest:thumbsup:

MattADH 12-10-2010 06:59 PM

if the venue meets the needs then the club will be glad to run meetings

( just a point Maritime Racing Off road club will not be run to compete with the other clubs in the region but to be part of the region and support the sport )

I myself and my kids would love to attend on a tuesday evening, for us once a fortnight would be great.

Would be great if you had a track meeting to have a look at what you have got to play with, so please keep us informed. Any other help Ian please don't hesitate to contact us at FORCC.

Thanks for the last comment Ian we are singing from the same hymn sheet regards our clubs,

Kind regards, Alan

Definitely up for weekend action, but week nights no go.

Awesome!

noobie 13-10-2010 09:25 PM

I'm a total noobie, and am planning to hopefully start at EPR soon, Maritime just down the road from me, so could feasibly do a bit of midweek action as well (as long as the missus doesn't mind having the twins to herself)

Gnarly Old Dog 14-10-2010 11:38 AM

Ian, this is great news.
Evenings will be a push for me - especially as I am a marauder from North of the River but weekends are more feasible.
Its good to have another venue in the area - and it's especially good when venues can try to work together so as not to compete against each other for entrants.

Do we almost have the basis of a modern day South of Watford league between the clubs?

I'm looking forward to Off-Road wars already and with luck, the whole region and area will benefit in the long run from having another very good club and venue to complement the ones we already have.

Top job Ian - thank you :-)

pb1 14-10-2010 06:23 PM

Dear All

Maritime Racing have been waiting for the powers that be to get back to us.

I am PLEASE to inform you that as of the 6th January 2011 we have received a email giving us permission to go forward to use the next room
at Maritime Raceway to build a permeant OFF ROAD TRACK.

I have still got to show the committee that the intreats is in the area to make this work.

I am also hoping that the Off RoadWars Two Day World Cup can show the support in the local area and the country
book in at www.centralbooking.org

If you want this venue to be built please show support

Not only can the track be open for a Tuesday Night club meeting but will also be able to be used when we open on Saturdays

Thank you reading

Here hope it all go's a head

Ian Knight
