any1 got a setup for worksop (fs)
as title, ive ran at worksop today with a fs
it was my first time out with it and i wasnt happy with it could any1 help me out ??? cheers si |
Who was fastest guy at Worksop with an FS?
maybe i can get their set up? |
Speak to Nick Caro (NJC11) ... he loves Worksop and his car goes around sweet. I can't help as I hate the place and avoid it like the plague.
A well set-up FS will feel really ballanced and thus like it's slow ... lap times will tell a different story though :) I'm sure Nick will help but if not post up your set up and how you would like the car to feel different and I'll do my best to help you |

No bruder, FS is the Kyosho Lazer FS (4wd), Fabs car is the Kyosho RB5 MCS (mid custom special).

Fs set ups
Speak to mattb on here I hear he has been helping some of the "experts" with their set up:confused:
|
If you aint sure who I'am you cant miss my car it's the pink Kyosho with the Pink Panther on the side.
I was changing alot things yesterday & it was brilliant in my final just wished it was like that through Q  Welcome to come over have chat or ask any questions. Nic's car looked fantastic yesterday even though he had the rear end in thousands of bits lol :p:p was so tempted to take bit see how long it would take for him to notice :woot: I was going to try the Tamiya Ghea pistons but i need to add a small shim but didnt have any right size. Perhaps Fabs could tell me what size shims he is using with his be helpful. I did also get to run the 2wd in one of the Q it was fantastic tbh i didnt make any changes to the car at all. I think once i get used to driving 2wd i might me upgrading was brilliant . Wasnt the fastest but had great time with the car |
Same shims as for hinge pins, yu know the 0.1/0.2/0.3mm ones...

Hi Nick,
Yeh, I'm booked in for Chadderton. There will be an 8.5T in the RB5 by then. Just hope you guys are right, and it's going to make all the difference. Certainly can't make me any worse :woot: LOL Colin |
It will make a big difference buddy... much easier for you to drive especially with your nitro fingers!
I wanted to watch both yours and Robs cars on sunday, but had my work cut out trying to get mine to work for me..  |
Nick,
Made a few changes throughout the day:- 1) Changed shock oils to 400wt Fr and 300wt Rr. (Kyosho oils) 2) Removed the spacers from the under the inner camber link , front and rear. 3) Changed the rear inner camber link to the middle position All seemed to help the car rotate more - either that, or it was just my thumbs that were beginning to adjust to the black art of 1/10th 2wd electric  |

TBH between Worksop and Chadderton i didnt change much at all.. |

I take it we are only talking about a completely smooth track surface? If so I'd be tempted with anti roll bars also. NEVER off road though, can make things a little unpredictable.
|
i beg to differ on that roger i race a bury which is very bumpy and always use a 1.1mm roll bar ive tried all the roll bars and ive found things only start getting unpredictable when you use 1.3mm and above the 1.1 roll bar makes it feel a little more stable and helps it rotate just nicely on wet astro inconjunction with the rear roll bar i use the 2 nobble spacer under law36 and 4 nobble spacer under law37 and it cruises over the bumps and it very flat and not nervous down a very bumpy straight :)
|
Roll Bars are we swaering now lol :p
Yeah was have been thinking of roll bars but i have never run at chadderton before. Is there much of difference in surface compared to Worksop? Yeah Colin you will be suprised in the difference in running a 8.5t than that bloody 5.5t you was running :woot: I know Nick will be swearing at me but also adding some more weight to car will help you aswell. I'm running Ghea front bulkhead, 52G under the servo, 20G behind the servo & 51G under the lipo car is brilliant so easy to drive. Hell i was having more fun with the 2wd than 4wd in the one run i had at Worksop :D |

Both your cars looked good what i saw of them in Q & the finals |
thanx for replys guys i will have to come and get some advice off a few of u
did any1 run rollbars at worksop on the fs? |
Matt .. if ARBs work for you mate then use them to your advantage. When I first got the FS I used ARBs 95% of the time and only really started to get what I wanted from the car once I removed them.
If you think Bury is bumpy come to "Car Killer" Coventry .... Bury is like a sheet of fresh glass in comparison :D |
