Tamiya sometimes come up with some awful wacky names.

Looks like there's going to be an alternative body shell for the TRF201 (see DN-01) --> http://www.tamiya.com/japan/hobbysho...1010/news1.htm

New body is included in kit together with TRF201 wing.

Is´nt it great that they make a "budget" buggy that can be upgraded?
Now you don´t have to choose DT-02 or TRF 2WD buggy. Better for both customers and Tamiya.

Up until now if someone had asked me what car shall i go for to start out with the stock answer has always been a B4.... not any more! :)

Pink wheels are a no-no... the body isn't 'offensive' but isn't pretty either, think I may get one for me daughter!

Do you think that they saw how well the X6 sells and thought it's success was down to it's looks and decided that to outsell it they had to make their car even uglier!!

It's making the new Jconcepts shells look more appealing though :woot:

At least there is hope that they will do some other coloured 2WD Front wheels other than white. Although i don´t think i would like to get the pink ones....

They should have stuck to their traditional naming methods and called it "the Toad":lol::lol:

Think of a cat coughing up a furball - I think it's close to that. That shell design fell out of the fugly tree and hit every branch on the way down...

Yeah that looks pretty awful with that painjob/colour scheme.

However, I'm thinking with a retro paintjob that body wouldn't look half bad, say something reminiscent of the 'Wild One'?

I'm a bit puzzled as to why they are bothering with a budget model of this buggy. I thought that the 201 was pretty damn cheap for a racing level buggy anyway.

I had even been selling off the buggies my kids use in anticipation of getting a couple of these so we could all run in the same class further down the line.

But god damn Tamiya, what a way to sabotage a platform, The name is crap as is the entire look, It all combines to make me want to avoid it completely.

The main reason will simply be Hobbyco.
Lots of people are finding them to deal with, more are finding that they can't get the parts that racers want which leads to more racers shopping abroad and then finding out that they can buy the parts for the same price as Hobbyco was charging the UK shops.

Just my opinion of course!

Agree the Hobbyco are rubbish, but it isn't there fault that no one in the UK has them in stock - the Zahhak isn't released yet, on sale from 18th December. ;)

I could almost guarantee that Hobby Co. won't have them in stock for 18th December, let alone have them out to retailers for then!

£207?? And you've still got to replace the shocks, as there is no way you'd want to run the standard plastic ones.

Can't see many people opting for that over the Losi 22 at £190 or the B4.1FT at £209.
