MK999 30-09-2007 04:36 PM

MK999 30-09-2007 06:17 PM

I know it is, rwmcc is the 8th track in slough, which is where and what i used to race, and the surface is like that, and it was great fun with an 8th, gerrit? :D

My car is a touch unwell at the minute. But if I can get it fixed, I'll be more likely to come.

Elliott.

Nick Goodall 10-10-2007 11:02 AM

What's up with it Elliott?

Should be a good day anyway, looking forward to it :-)

JCJC 10-10-2007 11:03 AM

Whats wrong with the B4 then Elliot ?

Elliott Hopkins 10-10-2007 11:04 AM

Fanbelt.

Not got a great tool selection and Dad's gone off on holiday. I might stick it in a garage.

Elliott.

Nick Goodall 10-10-2007 11:19 AM

Ahhhh real car - i was just thinking actually you may have meant big car not the small one ;-) Hope you get it sorted anyway!

JCJC 10-10-2007 12:03 PM

Fanbelt on a B4, what am I thinking ! 4-40 bolts on that !:eh?::eh?:

MK999 10-10-2007 01:22 PM

Should be good to come along if Mike can still give me a lift. :D Though i may well be running on whatever tyres i can find thanks to the postal strike

pesky badger 10-10-2007 05:19 PM

I'm in.

Looks like the battle will have to be postponed until the next CML meeting then Elliot.

Stu

Elliott Hopkins 10-10-2007 06:05 PM

He'll be in the garage on Friday. I have an interview on Tuesday so he'd better be done.

Elliott.

Elliott Hopkins 10-10-2007 10:47 PM

So what's the preferred route down?

For Portsmouth (East), I normally go through Guildford, because the M27 is a stinker. But I'm going to go via Basingstoke and the M3 and then go cross country.

Also, what motor shall I start with? If the track is going to be a cut down 1/8th track would a 10x2 be appropriate or will it be a 'normal' size?

I was mid table last time Pesky.

Elliott.

showtime 10-10-2007 11:36 PM

depends where you're coming from, if going via Guildford just stay on the A3
the traffics ok in the mornings its the way home its crap!

showtime 11-10-2007 12:54 AM

flash earth link to track location http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=50.92....5&r=0&src=msl

the crosshairs are where the gate is & the tracks right there in the bottom of that field, old satellite image so track not shown!
zoom out to see roads etc to plan your journey, maybe even use coordinates for satnav?

hope that helps those of you who've not been before ;)

JCJC 11-10-2007 07:59 AM

JCJC 12-10-2007 11:58 AM

Fret not little grasshoppers, the force is with us, but first we must travel to the dark side of the city, near the smithandlow, and make contact with he who calls himself MK999, then together we shall venture towards the southern edges of our fair land, a sharp eye watching for bongo's as we approach warp speed at dawn, a cheesyburger and a cup of tea being our first reward.

expect to arrive 7.45ish, somewhere cosy to pit would be nice as gazebo is with the Droyds .................:cool:

showtime 13-10-2007 12:24 PM

cheesyburger cup of tea & an argument more like!

Steve the burger man is well funny at Clanfield, you always end up having a heated debate over something when you order your food! :D

when you order you food say to him "2 bacon rolls a cup of tea & an argument please" LOL
if you really want to have a laugh try buying just a cup of milk off him as if you've got your own kettle with you, that always goes down well or when he tells you the price try chipping him by 10 or 20p everytime LOL

seriously! its funny as :D

Elliott Hopkins 13-10-2007 02:01 PM

Minis fixed, batteries charged, dud cell in rubbish pack replaced, thanks to Mr. Stormforce.

All set here.

Elliott.

MK999 13-10-2007 02:57 PM

Is there likely to be a trackside shop? postman still has a load of my stuff :( inlcuding tyres, which are quite crucial really

JCJC 13-10-2007 03:02 PM

Mark, Bolextrix shop at Clanfield do not stock 10th tires, only 8th, I emailed em, may have some old step pins around. Mick

MK999 13-10-2007 03:05 PM

Damn, i got some step pins, but they're a bit worn and different compounds for some reason :o other than that i have holeshots which might kinda work maybe not really :p ballistics on loose dirt for comedy value maybe?

I traveled with a kiwi bloke once who would alway ask for some hot water (free!) as he had his own tea/coffee and milk, always got it the first time.

Dan Cockill 13-10-2007 07:23 PM

i will be there but travelling light, will have some step pins and a few spares.
john
