This seasons vintage weapons
Not 1700's samurai swords but the car(s) I'll use at the York vintage this year. Both are very nearly all done now so thought I'd put a couple of pics up.
Very happy with both cars, I've managed to source a 19t and 27t stock motors so am covered for whatever rules we decide, speaking on which when are the dates coming out G? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...92007024-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...92007023-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...6092007028.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...6092007026.jpg Dan |
I know Dad's got some "weapons"... but I think he'll need a bit of encouragement to get himself down to race them!

York?
Nice looking vehicles. I need to paint some body shells. Anything but PINK. I can,t find York without my little navigator.

They look nice. They would be my choice if I could get up to York too.

Emily and who might she be ????
Dan what shocks are on your rc10? Mine has a gold cloured chassis. But, did not have any shocks on it. I got shocks with it but they look like the yellow Kyosho ones. There are some others in the box which are gold in colour. Which ones Hmmm? Its also got rpm wishbones and pivot blocks. Still eligible for york???? |

Dan, it's Jim's wedding next week so we will all be having a bit of a get together, we'll talk dates.
Does anyone have any preference. York saturday nights worked well last year, but I'd like a couple of sunday meetings also, possible Tesside if they'll have us. Another Endurance team? Possible a heat at the ACES? I'd like to see enough entries for us to be able to run a 19t & 27t heats. |
All sounds great Stu, I might enter both classes if I'm allowed? 4wd 19t and 2wd 27t, might be others that want to do the same?
Vintage endurance was great last year though I'm sure we all left saying we would prefer t use our normal kit this year. If our team of last year was to be reunited I couldn't say no though ;) |
When are the vintage dates at york, anyone know?
|
Well I for one want to run the 6-gear in 27t and the JRX-2 in 19t.
I just wish I could get a proper body for the JRX-2 :( . |

Dan, Cool RC10, makes me feel all nostalgic for mine.:D

Dan,
Looks fantastic, but I am curious why you cut away the battery holder at the front. Was it due to the batts being bigger? Im still working on my MIP legend and if thats the case I am gonna have to drill more holes on the chassis to make them fit. Any way if you need a new one Ive got a spare lying around |
the reason he has done it [im guessing] is if you look at his batteries they have corrallys on the top of them, which will not fit under the back tray thingy [:D]

Actually nothing as complicated as that, it came like that :) I suspect it's because the weight distribution is very far back and it would gain more steering. I've actually wanted a new bat holder but never seen one on UK ebay and could never justify buying from Tower which is the main place for spares these days. If your serious about letting me have one James, it would be very much appreciated, cos the one in there has wood screws in the bottom (again came like that) and the ones on the top are stripped too. |

Well the one I bought cost me a fiver and is black (just the one item with the screws and plastic bar), and of course is brand new unpackaged. You have done a good job on that RC10, and I know it will go well. Anyway PM me if your still interested in it. I also have a brand new set of the metal poles for the front of the chassis packaged (black) and the front shock mount holder/brace (black) new and packed. |
Just seen these James, after I replied to your PM.
Do you mean the Plastic bits that hold the tower up and bolt through the bottom of the chassis with the big screws? I defo want the battery holder and would happily take the lot for a tenner if you're agreeable? |

They are the front triangular items that have three screw holes for the big screws and yes you screw the front mount to it. I will PM you soon as someone has already asked about them. |

Dan Pretty rare RC10 there, it's mainly a Worlds Car, with the wishbones, front shock mount, steering arms and battery strap being unique to that car. It should have a different milled chassis and rear shock mount to be complete but it is the ultimate RC10. |
Terry,
Interesting you say that, didn't think all worlds cars had milled chassis, only later ones, am I wrong? I do have one bu it's very scratched, would need to rub it down and paint it, which I do want to do when it gets completely retired to the shelf. Also, what's not right with the rear tower, I'll have to track one down. The shell is wrong I believe, but it is nice :) |

The body should be an RCPS Turbo Mirage which hasn't been around for years, the one fitted is an Associated Viper. The milled chassis is from the Worlds Car, the black chassis without the milling is from the Team Car.
Worlds rear shock mount looks like the one below. Picture is from the manual which you can download from Associated. |
