one thing I noticed, steering ball go on top of the steering arms, only the drag-link goes under.

have a look at the other S4 steering setups.

Thomas: Make sure you have 2-3 mm of spacer under the ball stud on the steering arm/wheel hub otherwise you will get a lot of bump steer.

Are you the Thomas I was talking to at the Euros?

Thomas P 31-08-2007 01:17 PM

Mr Body paint, no im nobody, and you didnt talked to me, but it would be a dream :D if you did

Body Paint 31-08-2007 03:11 PM

If you'd bought your S4 before the Euros I'd have come and found you, as I spent a week in Stockholm on the way back from Finland. What a really nice place:)

FINALY!!!!... What a car...to bad the weather was bad,and a some serious water-spots on the track (astro turf). i was borrow the "Coventry-Setup" and did find that the ear was to "Springy", so i wet from Red down to Pink, and it went a lot beter, but long from perfect, this was my first packs...the steering is AWSOME!!!, the rear grip was..ok, but not more (haveto work with the setup) water combine with astroturf and used Bigshots arnt the bst, but on the dry parts, it was Good, can be better, it WILL be better...one of te best buy i have did...wil reebuild my reardiff since it was slippering...

However, this is the car to use in the future, it was more easy around corners :D, i think i have to get up in rear oil to 35 insted of 30,

Body Paint 15-09-2007 08:42 PM

Hey Thomas

Glad you like the car.

We use Losi 30wt oil and are finding that on tracks with jumps and good grip we are using orange pistons in the rear and black pistons with 35 wt oil in the front.

We use Ballistic Buggy tyres at Coventry which are smaller and lighter than big shots. You will probably need a little more damping than we would.

Also try 3mm of spacers under the rear inner ball stud, this will stop the rear of the car rolling as much in the mid corner.

Thomas P 16-09-2007 05:09 AM

Thanx BP, i will look into it asap, the car is in pices, and wil try this to :)

Thomas P 25-09-2007 03:33 PM

Chris Doughty 26-09-2007 07:35 AM

both cars look ace Thomas, good luck for the weekend!

Thomas P 01-10-2007 07:40 AM

Some short update.. i have no pics yet, but it will come. Friday between 12-18:00 2wd/4wd time practice..you got 3 packs, on a track that was real hard to drive on, you could NOT have a spec setup, since the layout was so varius(diffrent) so something between for the whole track...rain,rain..the track was sometimes wet, sometimes moist..REAL BUMPY...very hard to drive...

Sunday, the final race day was 4wd...Practice 2 times, but HEAVY,HEAVY rain...skiped the 2 pr rounds since the track was almost under water :D..the people that aranged this, was real good, they took of te most of the water...we skied the first qual of 4, i manged to qual in to A final as number 7, my first REAL race, first race with my new S4..the car in my opinion went so much better over every bumbs of the track then the other cars, like XX4,BJ4 etc... could run it so much higher and that was the trick..no ROLL at all...the guys in this final was the ace in sweden

i did 7 and 6 in A final leg 1 and 2...the 3rd final round, i crached..my mistake..but my goal was to run the whole race without this crach, but a A final with this competition...im happy..the car was the trick!! most of the eople said that the S4 was somuch smoother then any other car...

Jonathan, whenwill the S2 be ready :)?

your yellow paint is radioactive dude !

Body Paint 03-10-2007 12:07 PM

Your spot on, look at the before and after pictures. The radio active shells have disintergrated almost everything and just left a few random suspension and gearbox parts LOLOL

Yeah, even the plant in the pot has died from the radiation! :D

Thomas P 03-10-2007 02:18 PM

Hehe :D, almost done with the car, every single bearing is replaced..every ball n the diffs is also changed... Just front suspension left, then he car will wait to summer...

I do need a new body for coming summer..

Thomas P 14-10-2007 05:55 AM

May i ask what does this mean? ( do i feel dumb or what) and what is the effects on the cars handling?

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...at/s4setup.jpg

elvo 14-10-2007 07:40 PM

Have you checked the back section of the manual of your 'donor' BJ4? I'd save me some typing....

Body Paint 14-10-2007 08:50 PM

There are 2 sets of anti squat blocks available for the BJ4. R 0 3 which gives 0 degrees anti squat and 3 degrees toe in and R 2 3 which gives 2 degrees anti squat and 3 degrees toe in.

If you add shims under the front or rear of these blocks you can alter the anti squat and/or the height of the hinge pin.

Thomas P 15-10-2007 03:51 PM

So sorry, ofcourse i know what it means..i was little confused, with that number and text..

Thanks BP, for that with the shims :)

Thomas P 30-10-2007 06:17 PM

just woundering, is it safe to drill thru the CF to reach the small skrew that holds the rear ingepin ? im not sure if i want to do it...last race i did crach my left rear arm, and had to dismount the block that holds the pins...kind of pain in the :D.

what can or should i d0

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...4/S5030290.jpg

OldTimer 30-10-2007 07:17 PM

If you are just changing the arm thomas, you can just remove the rear suspension block and slide off the arm.

But its not a problem to drill a small hole in the tub wall, so you can use a allen key to undo the grub screw.

Thomas P 31-10-2007 06:08 AM

Thank you Mr J, yes that is no problem, the bad is, last crash i bent the hingpin..thats the reason i want to drill. :D

il do this later...have app 7 month left to outdoor

c0sie 01-11-2007 10:42 PM

The S4 looks soo damn nice :)

Thomas P 04-11-2007 05:13 PM

c0ise..yes it is...cant describe it in words...
