steveibbo1986 18-08-2010 09:13 AM

What will be the best way to get to the track as I assume the A43 will be pretty busy with the event at Silverstone on?

PaulUpton 18-08-2010 09:16 AM

If you get there early enough you should be fine, gates will be open from 7.

It'll be a v.early start from Bournemouth!

mikeyscott 19-08-2010 09:35 PM

Tempted to do this, but I haven't done any of the others so I expect I'd have to do 4WD?

It's not dependent on how many you've done, as long as you've not counted points in any other region then you can do the 2wd regional

If you run in the 4wd/Open class, you should be able to run both 2wd and 4wd - thats my understanding and plan for Sunday!

PaulUpton 20-08-2010 09:26 AM

Toby is right, the open class you can run anything which can be 2wd/4wd/SC10 truck

Paul

That's fine then, you can run legitimately in the 2wd regional and count points

mikeyscott 20-08-2010 12:18 PM

I assume control tyres are Schumacher mini spikes in the dry and ballistics in the wet - any compound?

No control tyres at regionals Mikey, you can run what you want, but the tyre to have is either Schumacher yellows (dry) or greens (wet). I've not tried the Fastrax tyre so I can't comment but I suppose if you are running at the 2 dayer then it wouldn't hurt to get your car set up running those if you can get some

/tobys 20-08-2010 12:37 PM

How well do Ballistics work Alec?

Samspeed1 21-08-2010 12:18 AM

I found them really good in the damp

blitzboy 21-08-2010 01:37 AM

Thinking of coming down to this and running in open class guys what's the postcode

PaulUpton 21-08-2010 05:55 AM

They were ok in the damp when I tried them but I think that Schumacher greens were better overall. I'd bring both with you to try

mikeyscott 21-08-2010 08:19 AM

Don't want it damp!

Sounds like I'll bring my tyre collection yellow/green/blues for schumacher and BB pink/greens!

andy reeves 21-08-2010 08:47 AM

Looking forward to coming down tomorrow, just hope the weather is nice and sunny.

simoncrabb 21-08-2010 10:06 AM

I'm hoping to run in the 4wd class as well, but I need a Durango shell, can I borrow one from anyone?

spenner 21-08-2010 10:40 AM

For those that haven't been here is some help....

Tyres: Fastrax or Schumacher Yellow mini in dry... I have seen Alec go round on Green Schumachers in dry and it looked good. Ballistics also work but again it is preference.

Wet: Fastrax, Ballistic or Schumacher green.... good thing about the Fastrax is they are as good as anything in dry or wet!!!!

Weather: Dry all day!!!

As has already been said there is no food on site, but the Bar will be open around lunch for nice cold drinks. There is also a nice village shop with sandwiches, rolls etc..... and Mcd's is 5 mins down the road!!

Last note!!!!!!

There is a speed limit of 5mph as you drive across the field!!!! Note anyone seen speeding WILL be asked to leave...

jasonrcb 21-08-2010 11:01 AM

Any chance there will be shop there tomorrow, wouldn't mind trying a set of the fastrax on the 4wd

looking forward to tomorrow track looks the business:thumbsup:

JCJC 21-08-2010 11:28 AM

Give DMS a ring, spect they may be there (edit: just looked at the entry list, - he's not booked in)

Darren Boyle 21-08-2010 11:50 AM

Sorry cannot make this one, I have family commitments :(

Although we have sold quite a few pairs of the Fastrax tyres this week to people coming tommorow who I think plan to test them there also....

The Pookster 21-08-2010 12:28 PM

Is booking in on the day possible? Would be for guest/4wd.

spenner 21-08-2010 01:15 PM

yep... booking in on day is fine

mikeyscott 21-08-2010 02:13 PM

Looking forward to it. Anyone doing both regional and guest class?
