Who is up for a mid week bash?

seen as I will have my shock tower delivered buy about tuesday who fancies a bash up at goshen? one day/evening weather dependant?

I will get to show you my pathetic skills

sad to say last time I went up there I had to clear the track as vandals had damaged the perspex on the rostrum and thrown it all over the track.

if you come to a club meeting ther is at least 3 people who would have a rear shock tower you could buy,me being one of them.only takes a couple of minutes to fit.

Si Coe 08-08-2010 09:16 AM

Plus we don't mind if you just come by for a chat and quick test in between rounds - just because we are racing doesn't mean you have to book in for the whole meeting to get a go.

captainlip 08-08-2010 10:11 AM

well take it thats a no for a midweek bash :D

I am fine replacing a tower just wanted an alloy one so doesnt break as much.

I will come on race days, but i work alternate sundays and the others I usually have plans. just thought it be good for a 2nd day to meet so it gets more use.

captainlip 09-08-2010 11:35 AM

nobody up for this? at all this week?

Si Coe 09-08-2010 12:18 PM

I might be. I'm a teacher so not working over the summer, its just that I have a 6 day old son! But if a few people want to go and have a play at the track, I should be able to come down for a while. Plus I have a key, so no need to climb the fence!

captainlip 09-08-2010 01:10 PM

what about getting the cars in the car park?

i will be joining you, have a boy on the way in december :D

if you have a key does that mean there is access to a power supply? if so could be up there for a few hours.

Are you a member of the club yet?
I've been sitting on the fence watching this thread. Why don't you just attend the club on a Sunday like the rest of us before trying to re-schedule the club to suit yourself. Nobody can be so nieve

If you joined a golf club why you ask them to play the tournaments at night ?

all im asking is for a few to come out for a laugh, nothing serious. If you read some of my other posts I work alternate sundays and the others I usually have plans, so its hard for me to get down there on sundays.

why make a comment like this? if i could be there on sundays id be there on every single meet. but not all of us work 9-5

and to add who said I was trying to rearrange the club? who said I wanted access to the race gear?

As that why there is a big dent in the fence:p

Captain - don't listen to Budfish, he's a special case. Drove his (real) car into a big hole on Sunday and got stuck! We tried to push him out, whilst he gunned the engine, but then realized it was impossible with his big arse in the drivers seat. As soon as we got him pushing, and put Little Chris behind the wheel the car was out in no time!
Yes my keys open the cabin with access to the power supply, but I can't possibly stay long enough to charge a pack!

captainlip 09-08-2010 06:52 PM

im going to leave this, nobodys interested and im getting grief for simply trying to organise a day where a few of us can meet.

Its fine ill go up to bury on my own when I can make it as ive said above sundays are not the best for me.

JonyNitro 09-08-2010 06:54 PM

Listen captin we all have busy lives I don't work weekends so I joined a club that races on Sundays. It's not rocket science. There are lots of clubs around here that race on week nights normally one or two of us from bury metro at most local club meets so advice is freely available at any club meet.

well i think you need the extra practise i believe you got smoked of budda in the final on sunday

budfish 09-08-2010 08:55 PM

Captin we race on a sunday as you have already stated you work every other Sunday and the Sundays you aren't working you are busy.
So why do you want to go to goshen as we are a club that races sundays so where do you fit in so either make time to come and see us on a Sunday which is what we all have to do.
Then your first race will be free then £4 for every race meeting after that for non members these are called subs . That is what keeps the club going(plus rogers hard work and devotion) and we all have done our little bit to maintain it. We all have other things our wives would rather us be doing but we make sacrifices to attend this is what you need to do top and bottom if you can't then find another hobby

very nice welcome to this club it has to be said!

when did I ever say i would never join the club and pay my support?

if your going to welcome every member like this your club will be under threat again as the new comers will go elsewhere. :p

captainlip 09-08-2010 10:31 PM

ill be down on the next available sunday to join the club, as was always my intentions, but until then who is free over next couple of days for a mess about?

Si Coe 09-08-2010 11:20 PM

As I said, in theory I can be, but I'm 40 mins away and can't be gone for too long, unless I bring the little one with me!

captainlip 09-08-2010 11:25 PM

ok im just waiting on a shock tower then im ready to run. what day and times best for you?

Si Coe 09-08-2010 11:34 PM

Dunno - I'm waiting on a front bulkhead:thumbsup:

I've got 2 other cars I could run, but the Bmax is waiting for parts, and thats my main car.

captainlip 09-08-2010 11:48 PM

keep me posted

captainlip 12-08-2010 07:26 PM

Ok were back in action, so ill be down there tommorrow around 5pm for a quick blast for an hour, weather dependant!

The Bod 13-08-2010 10:59 AM

I popped along to Goshen yesterday evening to have a little practise and although it was nice and sunny there was a lot of standing water on the track with 3 quite large and deep puddles. I decided not to get the car out, but may pop back this evening.

captainlip 13-08-2010 12:06 PM

Ill be there at 3.30 if you want to join me!

Si Coe 13-08-2010 12:27 PM

Car fixed, but can't make it - left holding the baby whilst the wife goes shopping!

The Bod 13-08-2010 01:15 PM

I have 3 young children so completely understand your situation!!! Best of luck.

As it stands, looks like it will be too wet this pm to do anything at the track.

captainlip 13-08-2010 01:51 PM

Im going up there now to chwck it out, cant imagine it be any good though

captainlip 13-08-2010 02:29 PM
