They state that it has been designed to win straight out of the box, and by the looks of it it will! If I ever go back to TC's ill be getting one of these!
|
To be honest, there is nothing new there, it looks just like the xray/cyclone/tamiya/tc5 etc etc
How boring:D |
just had a look. I like it shame i just stopped snoring, gone back to buggys now.It looks well layed out and there are some very trick tuning aids and innovative ideas not present on most other cars, at least not all combined in one car that is (have a GOOD look at it)

Whilst the car looks good to me, from the pictures it does appear heavily based on the Tamiya 415 |
I cant see anything that isn`t already on another car
|
A big fat chap?
|
looks good,

my all cars have the same bits!:D |
Although there isn't anything radical in the design, I think they have done things right (except the steering servo) and the quality looks high!
|

|
any time its on there web site, pre production kits are out.

The Serpent looks more like other cars than it does the Mi3. No doubt the car will be good quality because Serpents always are. But how was the Mi3 "not done properly"? |
wishbones were not beefed up accordingly after issue's with the Mi2, bulkheads are very heavy, steering arrangment is 'awkward', they use the silly 'mount the suspension on the bulkheads' philosophy, which, ok, give almost infinite adjustments, but to 99.9% or racers, just adds confusion, the layshaft needs a beefier support system etc etc etc.... and now Schumacher being Schumacher, are now releasing softer wishbones (but still not beefed up), new chassis, new topdeck, ne bulkheads, nearly a new car.
At least the S400 looks like a solid and simple car to work with, which is the better option always. |

Bulkheads are heavy but what problem does that really create? You just have to add less weight to the car. The infinite adjustments give people the opportunity to change anything they like, and lets customers have the same cars as the top drivers. Layshaft needs a beefier support? I don't understand this one? Again, what is the problem with the layshaft? Softer wishbones also can be used as a tuning aid on low grip tracks. Again, I don't understand why you have a problem with them? Tamiya's TL01 is a solid and simple car, hardly any adjustments, maybe give it a try? ;) Just joking, but nothing is meant to cause any offense in this post. Just expressing my views on the car and having a discussion with you regarding it :) |
No offence taken, but there have been a lot of people breaking wishbones in what is, insignificant impacts, it just appears that, rather than invest in a new moulding or alter the current one, they have gone for the soft option.
The layshaft should of been supported with a bigger diameter screw, and maybe one that passed all the way through with a nut on the end. I do admire the balls of Schumacher, but I do think this car has missed the mark, in comparison to other touring cars on the market, especialy compared to the S400. |
Ok, in my opinion the car is very good and Schumacher have produced a very good car. Although I've not had problems with the layshaft or wishbones.
The Mi3 can be improved, just like nearly any other car. But I think that the Mi3 is as good if not better than all of the other cars out there. The Mi3 is really easy to maintain and generates a lot of traction. |
hmmmmm, I would bet my bottom dollar that it is no better than any car out there.... but I don't put it on the par of the Tamiya/Hot Bodies or I reckon, the new serpent though, as much as it is a good car, it isn't a GOOD car, I just wish it was, being it is British.
|
Have you ever built or raced one?
|
serpent is availabe to buy now!!
|
how much are they Mark?
Jonny, I have built and raced MANY Schumachers, even been on their team, and the one thing they are renowned for is, bringing a car out, then about 4-5 months down the line, changing everything.... so just as you get the car to work, it changes. Some say, it is constant developement, some say that they know it wasn't right in the first place. |
[quote=DCM;57592]how much are they Mark?
You would hope around the £300 area else it is just too expensive. Most of the top end touring cars are in that price range. Eg, Grainger BD £269 tc5 £269 MI3 £265 Xray T2 007 £269. I know that this kit will be top quality but most of the kits are quite good these days. |
its rrp is 299.95
so in the correct price range as shops will prob knock it out a bit lower |
mb models in leeds have em in stock at a special introductary price
|
