New Project
I am Contemplating building another one off car:bored:
What should i build? Any ideas? What would you consider the ultimate?;) |
Is it supposed to be 2wd or 4wd? Buggy or SC truck or .... ?

XX4 w/ Durango drivetrain:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: |
a mid motored buggy with a B4 front, a losi back, running saddle lipos side by side (so the long side to the front) so you have a skiny mid motored 2wd beast, I've seen a skinny B4 and a losi/B4 MM hybrid, but never the 2 together.
how about a 1:1 mid motored 2wd buggy ;D
1/10th 4wd mid motor 3 full geared diffs, big bore shocks
These all seem a little tame...lol
Carl thats just given me a good idea....an oil filled geared centre diff with a slipper on it.
Front wheel drive

a Rear drive 2WD with brakes on the front wheels
If you want a real challenge try designing a car that has an inboard motor with a slimline chassis and maybe laydown shocks if you want points for style
Thats too easy agt:lol:
Oh well front or rear motored 4wd car then :D
How about inboard shocks then? :woot:
Not a real problem as i am quite experienced with in board shocks lol;)

So my vote is for front or rear motored 1belt 4wd buggy :D |
How about a full race Sc10 with 4wd and carbon tub ?
Maybe even with geared diffs ... Thunder Tiger make some cheap geared diffs ;) |
or a wide sc truck, make the chassis the wide of the body, run 1 saddle on each side as far apart as possible, and mid motored, lots of front grip, and lots of body roll, it would be good on low grip dirt tracks, probably non existant in the UK though.
1/10 Slipperential!
Twin motored 4wd? one motor driving the front one doing the back?
I did mean a 2wd or 4wd 10th buggy as thats what floats my boat:thumbsup: Race machine
Steel tubular frame chassis:thumbsup:
There might be a reason not to do it but why not a rear motor with a 2 gear tranny but the motor on the other side. That way the motor would run with the tires...
Use the DEX410 drive train to create a 4wd SCT, with bead-lock sc wheels, and center slipper/differential (slipperential).
Or A switchable rear/mid motor 2wd with saddle/stick pack options, and make it handle like a 4wd. And You should have it done before TD, of course. ;) |
Front wheel drive 2wd

scott i think you should complete your old idea of a slim pred, or a durga slim with arbon chassis with saddle lipos

Another cool thing would be a basic mid motor B4 with the motor centered s it would have perfect side to side balance without any extra weght. |
how about a elec 2wd along the lines of a baja but smaller? and if wanted style points could always fab up a sexy sandrail chasis,

just a sugestion but how about a relient robin ??
Been done, but they ARE mega fun!
http://www.btinternet.com/~rc.cars/nat99.htm One of the oval classes would be my suggestion - thew cars are deceptively simple and a real challenge to get right. Either the 1/8th stockcars or the 1/12 stockcars, Saloons or Minis. be interesting to see what some fresh eyes came up with in the limitations of the 1/12th oval BRCA rules!:thumbsup: |
I did say 2wd or 4wd 10th buggy as thats what i am interested in :wub
but cheers for the suggestion guys:) |
Modern version of

Good idea Pavel - rear engined Optima was my first 4wd car
Scott - imagine how narrow you could get the chassis if the motor was hanging out the arse end? Everything inline - cells, ESC, receiver, servo, etc etc.? |
