mmm nice

Want one now. When are they ready.

weeman 16-06-2010 08:17 PM

Very nice..Ant you'd better order a few cos i'm gonna bash it to bits!!:woot:;)

Aran 16-06-2010 08:26 PM

no forward cab? lol

in my opinion it doesn't need the spoiler on the roof, but if you were going that way make it carry on at the back of the body.

the side pods could probably be lower too.

but i like :D

fastinfastout 17-06-2010 09:40 AM

I wonder if the phat x6 body will fit the cougar. I actually like that shape

c0sie 17-06-2010 10:04 AM

Looks the bollox Si!

Not quite! It's quite close but we tried the Zen shell on the other day and the front isnt wiiide n chunky enough. We could mod it to fit but I think we will be going ahead with a design a bit like the one above :)

ant west 71 17-06-2010 04:36 PM

weeman, u can try, lol. you got to catch it to bash it:p

ant west 71 17-06-2010 04:46 PM

saying that dave, you might get the chance as i come around to lap you :woot: haha.

frogger 17-06-2010 05:43 PM

Very nice work Si!

Matisse 17-06-2010 06:36 PM

nice! i may have to buy a cougar to have one though.

bigred5765 17-06-2010 06:54 PM

dont make the sides so low u have probs with clearance for speedos etc

mrspeedy 17-06-2010 07:13 PM

Cheers for the input guys  ... always nice to have opinions to listen to, good or bad I like em all :) ....

Like I said, nothing has been made yet, just me playing around on paintpot ....

Despite how it looks, the main part of the body is pretty much the same dimensions as the stock Cougar shell, it's just smoooooothed off a bit, so speedo fitment etc shouldn't be a problem.

The roof line is quite a bit lower than stock for a bit more meaness, and it will also fit the stock undertray so ya won't need to buy a new one

Price will likely be £15.00, the same as our X6 shell ....

Keep the opinions coming tho .....

gaffer 17-06-2010 07:24 PM

Game on Si

Like the look Sir.

markwilliamson2001 17-06-2010 07:48 PM

Good work as per usual Si!
Not my kind of thing IMO, as I am not really into the 'slammed' look as of present, as I prefer a more classic curvy body (ala B4 etc).
Top work all the same.

stefke 17-06-2010 08:09 PM

It has something of the original TRF501X body

moth898 17-06-2010 11:12 PM

I'd like to see a little more space for a speed passions esc with fan. The stock body is a little to close for my taste. maybe try a seperate gear cover conversion also. That being said I love the shape

whjdm069 18-06-2010 12:24 AM

That is sick. I like how aggrevise it make the car look. what is your website? when you decide on final design will you post it on here? do you ship to the u.s.?

Danosborne6661 18-06-2010 09:07 AM

www.phatbodies.co.uk

We've only done a few specific shells so far, but we're working on it ;) We also ship worldwide yup and everything will be posted up here :)

Shaun 'TheSheep' Atkinson 18-06-2010 09:38 AM

Will you be doing one for the SX2?

teamxray 18-06-2010 09:54 AM

yeah where the sx2 new shell coming out cant leave us in the lurch can you now :thumbsup:

mrspeedy 18-06-2010 01:38 PM

Nice idea about the separate gear cover, dunno if it's possible tho, would you guys go for that or is having it built into the bodyshell a better idea ?

I'd like to do a shell for the SX2 ......;)

moth898 19-06-2010 12:50 AM

The thing is if you race on astro-turf you don't need a seperate gear cover, But if you race on dirt like I do its become a issue. I've burnt three spur gears by getting mud between the teeth and jamming the gears. Maybe have it as a additional mold option for the cat and cougar. I know I would buy them in a heartbeat.

mrspeedy 19-06-2010 10:47 AM

It does sound like a good idea but, I've just had a look over our Cougar but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to attach the gear cover other than the motor screws

ant west 71 19-06-2010 01:20 PM

running on astro or dirt or any other surface is not the point. the gears should be covered for safety precautions as i once found out while marshaling a b4 without its cover, not nice, hurts lol. so i would have to say build it into the shell as then it cant be left off to cause a marshall injury. at the end off the day safety is the main concern.

jeffrey 19-06-2010 09:38 PM

i love that shell :wub
i will order a shell if they come out.
grtz jeffrey

GRN 20-06-2010 07:53 PM

Looks great but I guess the speedo + fan isn't going to work?

mrspeedy 20-06-2010 08:07 PM

Does it fit OK in the stock shell ?

Aran 14-07-2010 01:18 PM

any updates on this shell yet?

jeffrey 31-07-2010 08:05 PM

is there a release date yet?
grtz jeffrey

jatetu 08-10-2010 10:10 AM

anything new about the shell ?

thx

Stefan Jarl 09-10-2010 04:01 AM

Where and when can I by it ????

gazhillAE 28-10-2010 01:05 AM

Nothing wrong with the orginal one !

BTW

mrspeedy 28-10-2010 12:52 PM

It's still in the design stage at the mo, but if all goes well we should have a prototype around Christmas.

And then the body will be for sale soon after

Stefan Jarl 28-10-2010 02:29 PM

Looking foward to that ! =)

mrspeedy 02-01-2011 08:00 PM

Prototype pics coming soon :woot:

neiloliver 02-01-2011 08:09 PM

Will it be production ready before we all start buying our shells for the 2011 season? The initial sketches looked really good.

mrspeedy 02-01-2011 08:54 PM

We'll have the first bodyshell off the mould this week, and as long as we're happy with how it looks when it's mounted on the car it will go into production and be available in the shop before the end of January

jeffrey 02-01-2011 10:29 PM

that's good news. I LOVE that body:drool:
